FRP GRATING Moulded Grating is a strong, one piece, open mesh panel that is produced by a moulding process, with the weaving of fibreglass rovings and a thermosetting resin. These two complimentary materials provide FRP Grating with superior, compressive and malleable strength. A choice of resin type offers proven resistance to the effects of chemical corrosion and UV light degradation along with fire retardant properties. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use. The concave surface of the panel mesh bearer bars enables for a degree of slip resistance when released from the mould. The inclusion of a bonded grit coating of refined aluminium oxide greatly enhances the anti-slip properties and durability of the product. Transport, handling and installation of FRP grating is easier than that of steel gratings, due to its rather lightweight form. We recommend diamond tipped tooling for cutting, although tungsten tipped would make for a sufficient alternative.
Once cut, sealing the cuts is advised by using an approved resin top coat. Resin cans are available from FRP Products Ltd.

MINI MESH
Mini Mesh has approximately one quarter of the opening of regular square mesh grating. These reduced openings prevent objects as small as 13mm from passing through the mesh. The closer spacing of the bearing bars also offers smooth movement for small wheeled vehicles such as trolleys or pallet jacks, while providing a greater loading ability than regular mesh types. The addition of a bonded grit coating of aluminium oxide provides enhanced anti-slip properties and durability. Our FRP Mini Mesh has an open spacing of approximately 12.5mm x 12.5 mm, is available in a range of thicknesses and conforms to AS1657:2013 for elevated platforms with unrestricted access beneath. 0800 464 377

Grating Fixing Clips
38 M CLIP
M8 x 45 Bolt M8 Flat Washer M8 Nut
Product Overview Specialty clips manufactured from type 316 stainless steel, available for your fibreglass gratings. Our clips are used to secure grating or stair treads to the supporting structure or to fasten adjacent grating panels. Clip Types ‘M’ Clips are designed to clamp down two FRP grating load bars to the supporting structure. This method provides excellent holding capability and is also recommended for stair tread fixing. Clips are available in 316 stainless steel. Recommendation for clip quantity: minimum of four (4) M clips per piece of grating. ‘J’ Clips are used in conjunction with our M clips. They are designed to secure grating to the support frames without the need for drilling. 6

25 M CLIP
M8 x 30 Bolt M8 Flat Washer M8 Nut
‘U’ Clips are used in conjunction with our M Clips. They are used for connecting unsupported grating ending’s to each other to prevent excessive deflection. Design Consideration Wherever considerable vibration or lateral loads is applied, clip type and frequency may change. Please consult with an engineer on this.
J CLIP (To suit M8 bolt)
Stair Treads Stair Treads are a strong, one piece, open mesh step that is produced by a moulding process, with the weaving of fibreglass rovings and a thermosetting resin. Stair treads are cut from our FRP Grating, strair treads have an applied grit top surface, and can feature attachable anti-slip nosing. Fixing methods consist of four (4) ‘M’ Clips per stair tread. The anti-slip nosing is attached with our Nosing ‘M’ Clips. For loads, please refer to load and span charts on Page16.
.................. FRP produces dust when cut. We advise operators to wear suitable dust masks and goggles. Scrap and waste material should be disposed of in approved landfill facilities, adhering to local regulatory handling and documentation requirements. *Note: not all resin types, colours & panel sizes are held in stock. For non-stock items, a minimum order quantity may apply. Please contact us for further information on stock levels & lead times.
Grit Top Advantage
The concave surface of the panel load bearing bars enables for a degree of slip resistance, when released from the mould. The inclusion of a bonded grit coating of refined aluminium oxide markedly enhances the anti-slip properties/aspect. This is what gives grit top grating its compliance according to the New Zealand requirements. In addition to superior antislip properties, the bonded grit coating enhances the durability of the product.

Anti-Slip Nosing
NOSING M CLIP
Nominally 4mm thick, Anti-Slip (FRP) Nosing is coated in a fusion of premium quality SiO2 (quartz sand) and resin components. This gives the stair tread nosing a highly effective and durable anti-slip surface.
KEY BENEFITS
Anti-slip nosing is the preferred choice over tapes and paints, as they are designed specifically to lessen the risk of slipping on stair tread edges.
Colours:
Anti-slip nosing can be fastened using a combination of adhesive/sealant or mechanical fasteners to effectively fix, bond or seal the edges, averting any ingress of moisture.
Dimensions:
The anti-slip nosing is cut down from 5800mm lengths, and can either be cut on-site using a diamond or tungsten tipped tool.
Can be fixed to:
• Substantially outlasts anti-slip tapes, floor paints and coatings
Chequer plate, concrete, wood, ceramics, and open mesh grating
• No maintenance required
Anti-slip nosing is made from isophthalic polyester, with the grit being from sio2 (quartz sand).
Fixing methods:
• Straightforward and efficient installation

FRP HANDRAIL & FITTINGS Pultrusion is a continuous moulding process whereby reinforcing fibres are saturated with a resin and then pulled through a heated die. Our handrail systems suit interior and exterior environments where industrial chemicals or salt air can rapidly corrode carbon steel handrail systems. Our systems are designed to adhere to all relevant standards and provide a versatile, cost effective alternative to steel handrails. Our (FRP) handrail systems are used for stairways, walkways, platforms, and for guarding around machinery. Our handrails and fittings are available in a ‘round’ profile and include all necessary fasteners for assembly, and follow the same basic design principles as seen in steel:
• Upright support sections (stanchions) are supplied in 5000mm lengths • Top rails are supplied in 5800mm lengths • Mid knee-rails are supplied in 5800mm lengths • Kickboards are supplied in 5800mm lengths • Stanchion fixing brackets are available in side or top mount • Vast range of fittings and connectors • 316 Stainless steel fasteners • Tested to achieve a minimum safety factor of 2:1 (NZS/AS 1657:1992 and AS 1657:2013) • Maximum allowable stanchion centre-to-centre spacing of 1600mm • Top rail height range of 9001100mm (above the walking surface) • FRP mounts for guard rails or low level barriers • Stainless Steel Mounts for handrails (2:1 safety factor) • Example construction drawings provided with each order
KEY BENEFITS • Corrosion and chemical resistant • Tested to achieve a minimum safety factor of (NZS/AS 1657:1992 and AS 1657:2013) • Cost effective replacements for end oflife-steel handrails • Suitable for all environments, both interior and exterior • Relatively lightweight which makes for easy transport, handling and reduced load on existing structures • Quick and simple fabrication – no welding on site • Range of fasteners to suit all applications • Low electrical and thermal conductivity • Easily cleaned (mild detergent) • Strong and durable • Load tested for safety and compliance. Certified by SGS • UV resistant – maintains structural integrity after long service life
