WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT ABBY MURTAGH has joined The Broadmoor as its Vice President and Managing Director. Ms. Murtagh brings a wealth of experience to the role and is responsible for overseeing the resort’s daily operations, helping to further its Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond service and culture. Additionally, she will supervise The Broadmoor Seven Falls and The Broadmoor Wilderness Experience properties, ensuring guests have a truly unique experience.

Ms. Murtagh’s career spans several renowned hospitality resorts and experiences across the United States. Her impressive track record includes serving as General Manager during the renovation of the legendary Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. She was General Manager at the Hilton Salt Lake City, Resident Manager at the Waldorf Astoria New York in Manhattan, and held key hospitality positions at the Hilton Waikoloa in Hawaii.
The Broadmoor is also pleased to announce the promotion of David Patterson to the position of Vice President of Food and Beverage. Since joining the resort in 2013 as just the sixth Executive Chef in its hundred-plusyear history, Mr. Patterson has been instrumental in elevating its culinary offerings. He has traveled extensively, immersing himself in the diverse culinary traditions of South Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, India, Egypt, and Jordan.
Mr. Patterson’s culinary expertise has been recognized on multiple occasions, including as Executive Chef of the Hotel Hana in Maui, where he hosted a prestigious James Beard House dinner. He also gained valuable experience during his tenure as a Sous Chef at Maisonette in Cincinnati, a restaurant that received five stars and five diamonds for 42 consecutive years.
Moreover, Mr. Patterson has worked with renowned chef Alain Ducasse at his New York, Paris, and Monaco restaurants, further expanding his culinary horizons. His extensive experience and passion for the art of cooking make him the ideal candidate for his new role at The Broadmoor.
