The Classics Labels is a British-based group of record labels owned by three London musicians—Victoria Soames Samek (clarinet), Sebastian Comberti (cello), and Paul Archibald (trumpet)—who together bring many years of experience in all fields of performance. The group is comprised of several specialist instrumental labels—Clarinet Classics, Saxophone Classics, Cello Classics, and Brass Classics—that feature their respective instruments in world-class performances of core repertoire, groundbreaking new recordings, period instrument performances, and historical reissues. The first CD in the Belgian Boutique series unites three composers who have worked with the “concertante” possibilities of symphonic orchestras, using the Overture Concertante by Jef Maes as a starting point. Maes was one of the co-founders of the RFP in the 1950s, and this piece was the “club song” of the orchestra for a long time!

In 1995 he founded the international initiative Towards Humanity, which uses music as a catalyst to support humanitarian projects on an international scale. Born in Lebanon, Boustany moved to Britain in 1977, where he studied at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music. Awards include Silver Medal in the 1982 Madeira International Flute Competition, Woodwind Prize in the Royal Overseas League Competition, Silver Medal in the Shell/LSO Competition, and Second Prize winner in the woodwind section of the first-ever BBC Young Musician of the Year. He teaches at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music.
