Amanda McBroom and her manager Garry George formed Gecko Records in 1986 after her success with two audiophile best sellers on vinyl, recorded and released by Sheffield Labs. Gecko’s first release, Dreaming, had its international debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where McBroom’s acoustic vocal set brought down the house. The label followed that hit with Midnight Matinee, A Waiting Heart, and Portraits: The Best Of Amanda McBroom, which included four new tracks and a fresh arrangement of McBroom’s perennial award-winning standard “The Rose.”

Live New York jazz club recording features solid, lively, smoky traditional bebop quartet work. • Previous albums named in “Best of the Year” lists by JazzTimes, Village Voice, New York Times, DownBeat, Jazziz, and more. • Jazz clubs are special places—each one has its own personality, colored by the people that go there and the music that has been played there. Smoke is filled with the ghosts of all the great musicians who have played there, a sort of “who’s who” of the jazz world (including David Berkman himself). So, the band and the club collaborated to make this album, recording five sets over the course of two nights. • Since moving to New York in 1985, David Berkman has been an important part of the jazz community—an award-winning composer & bandleader who has performed and taught around the US and Europe. He has played in countless bands, including those of Cecil McBee, Tom Harrell, and the Vanguard Orchestra. He has worked with Sonny Stitt, Brian Blade, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Ray Drummond, and more. •

Gato Barbieri’s debut album as leader was recorded March 15, 1967 on the heels of his work on Don Cherry’s famed Blue Note recordings Complete Communion and Symphony for Improvisers. • This avant-jazz masterpiece from the Argentine tenor saxophonist shows off his volatile, shrieking sound to full and unrelenting effect, fueled by the twin interweaving strings of cellist Calo Scott and bassist Norris Jones (Sirone), as well as Bobby Kapp’s impressionistic drum splatter. • Recorded in a single day, this session exemplifies the spirited energy of the times and remains distinctive and inspiring over 40 years later. • Digitally re-mastered; new digipak format with original artwork. • Radio campaign will target college and independent stations. First reissue of the ESP-Disk’ vinyl edition, originally released in 1966! This unadorned spoken word recording of ’60s icon Timothy Leary was recorded at the Millbrook estate just before repeated raids and arrests by G. Gordon Liddy ended his famous residency. Though the album title became a clichéd rallying cry for a whole generation, it was presented to the public for the first time here. • On this disc, Leary presents his ideas on drugs, current events, and cultural phenomena—with recollections of earlier experiences and experiments—all delivered in a straight-ahead manner somewhat at odds with the subversive content. An absolute must for anyone interested in the 1960s, or countercultural thinking of any era. • Digitally re-mastered, in a new digipak format. • Radio campaign will target college and independent stations. Review copies submitted to numerous jazz publications. Ads with All About Jazz, Signal To Noise, and The Wire. • •

A great, lost psychedelic funk concept album by the enigmatic R&B impresario Phil Flowers! • Exact reissue vinyl LP transferred from the original master tapes. • CD version will feature extensive notes and previously unreleased recordings. • Before recording this album in 1973, Flowers had a long and storied career as a master R&B stylist who, born in North Carolina and raised in Maryland, had been performing for 20 years. • With his years of studio experience, a talented family of musicians, a room full of wah-wah pedals and echoplexes, and a group of longtime and forward-thinking musicians, Flowers created an album that no one but him could have ever assembled. • Immediate and urgent yet timeless, calling on the genres of funk and soul yet transcending them, Alpha and Omega is an album that rests comfortably in the cross-section between Eugene McDaniels, Sun Ra, Del Jones, and the YaWhoWa 13. •

A unique album featuring the pure sounds of nature, without music, recorded and arranged by seminal new age artist Deuter. The sounds of birds, waters, or winds are often no longer perceived consciously. We have become so accustomed to them that they have faded into oblivion, or are covered up by manmade noises. By attending to nature sounds, we lift them back up into our awareness and allow them to have a harmonizing effect on our organism. And, since nature’s music has no beginning or end, it easily creates a sense of timelessness. • Ideal for relaxation, and a unique companion for meditation. • Deuter is a seminal new age musician, active for over 30 years. Also a Reiki practitioner, he lives and works in the mountains of Santa Fe, creating the contemplative, healing music for which he has become renowned. • Through feeling, awareness, and experience, constantly inspired by the natural world around him, Deuter creates music that transports the listener to a place of peacefulness and well-being. He continues to earn and master an ever-expanding array of instruments including the drums, shakuhachi, cello, koto, sitar, Tibetan singing bowls, santoor, bouzouki, and keyboards. • Press releases will be sent to online press services. There are numerous occasions to listen to them, in village celebrations and cultural centers as well as in the theatres of Gorno-Altaisk. • The most commonly found instrument is the two-stringed lute, notably used to accompany epics. best sellers Rhythm & guitar combine with a local sense of melody sheltered in the hearts of African tribes like Djelibá, Mendé, Mandinga, and Fullah (Seydu’s tribe) to create what is commonly called “Palm Wine Music.” Few can play this music, but Seydu can! • After performing with the National Dance Troupe of Sierra Leone, Seydu moved to Nigeria, where he lived in Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s city/commune, sharing the rich musical culture of Kuti’s unique afro-beat. He then moved to Spain, where he became a member of Stevie Wonder’s band and is today considered one of the most prominent percussionists in the country. • After leaving his first band, Bambara, he started to develop his own musical ideas based on the traditional music of his childhood and the diverse musical influences he had encountered during his eclectic career. Diamond Tears is a masterpiece of West African music that recovers the spirit of the “Palm Wine Music.” Although characteristically percussive, the songs are unmistakably melancholic, recounting tales of life and hope in Creole and English. •

Thirty songs, poems, and practical exercises to help children learn and understand the Fruits of the Spirit! The artists behind Fruits of the Spirit realize there are several difficult aspects of life that can get families bogged down. Instead of focusing on the hard stuff, rejoice in what the Lord has given you as a family! The ultimate goal of this project is to provide families with an opportunity to grow closer to each other and the Lord through the teaching of invaluable concepts like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. • These songs, poems, and challenges were written for parents to use as a reference with their children. Don’t just sit back and let kids listen to this CD on their own—get up and participate with them! •
