ALLEN’S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: FINAL ONLINE INPUT SURVEY
The final opportunity to give input online for the Allen 2045 Comprehensive Plan will launch September 16 and last through October on the City’s online public engagement platform: Engage Allen.
Allen’s Comprehensive Plan is a vision for the future of our community and is updated approximately every 10 years. In March, the City of Allen began asking for resident input through public meetings, presentations, voting exercises and online surveys. Since then, this input has been instrumental in creating the 2045 Comprehensive Plan.
On Thursday, November 14, there will be a final in-person opportunity held for residents to share thoughts on the plan before it is assembled and presented to Allen City Council in early 2025.
CITY OF ALLEN UNVEILS D.R.I.V.E. TO THRIVE CITYWIDE INITIATIVE FOR ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS
Safety meets schooling as the Allen Fire Department launches the education phase of D.R.I.V.E. to Thrive, a citywide campaign that aims to bring down the number of injury-causing crashes on Allen roads.
Future and current drivers of all ages will see Allen police and fire officials hitting the streets to educate and raise awareness of the dangers of bad driving behaviors, ensuring a safer journey for everyone. This past spring, Allen police launched an intensified traffic enforcement campaign along US 75 and SH 121 to crack down on unsafe driving behaviors.
“D.R.I.V.E. to Thrive is crucial to our community because we all want to see Allen continue to thrive, and when each driver does their part, we can make our streets safer,” said Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd. “It’s important for us all to look out for each other.”
By the numbers: City of Allen in 2023
• 3,226 answered calls for crashes
• 556 of those calls included injuries
The goal with D.R.I.V.E. To Thrive
Together we seek to reduce injury crashes in Allen by 10% in the next 12 months.
