EMERGENCY PPE FUND FOR NEW YORK IMPACT REPORT JUNE 2020
Emergency PPE Fund for New York In response to the overwhelming need for personal protective equipment (PPE) for first responders in New York, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, All Hands and Hearts set up an Emergency PPE Fund. Over the past two months, we have been leveraging our disaster-relief experience and working with stressed supply chains, to source and distribute PPE to hospitals and other first responder facilities in New York that urgently need it. Thanks to the incredible support from our partners, Board members, staff and volunteers, we raised over $225k and used 100% of these funds to purchase PPE and distribute it, free of charge, to communities across New York. The need is great, however, and we need your help to continue the work! In addition to the Emergency PPE Fund, All Hands and Hearts also chose to donate it’s own entire sizable stock of PPE to hospitals and health centers around the United States. This included: 15,360 N95 masks, 1,318 hand sanitizers, 1,440 safety goggles, 251,000 nitrile gloves and 1,200 TyChem suits (not included in the numbers below).

Continuing work on COVID-19 Following the success of our Emergency PPE Fund for New York, we have launched a COVID-19 Relief Fund to help protect frontline workers and vulnerable communities around the world. To date, the COVID-19 Relief Fund has enabled us to support a new quarantine unit in Sindhuli, Nepal by donating beds, emergency food and cleaning supplies, as well as supporting health facilities in Mozambique by donating medical and cleaning supplies. In the U.S., we’re looking to deploy an assessment team to California in the coming weeks to determine if and how we can support COVID-19 response activities there.
About All Hands and Hearts We effectively and efficiently address the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. We communicate directly with local leaders and community members and then deploy our unique model of engaging volunteers to enable direct impact, helping to build safer, more resilient schools, homes and infrastructure. We have earned a 4-star rating by Charity Navigator six years in a row and a Perfect 100. Less than 1% of rated nonprofits have received this distinction for financial and operational efficiency.
