MEXICO EARTHQUAKE UPDATE - OAXACA (May 2019)
CURRENT ACTIVITIES For the past four months, All Hands and Hearts has been in Oaxaca, Mexico, working hard to bring resilience to a community shaken by the Central Mexico earthquakes. Here’s what we have underway this month: CELSO MUNOZ PRIMARY SCHOOL ● All columns have now been poured up to the roof level ● Roof formwork is being put in place, held up by a whopping 900 metal props! ● Volunteers are busy tying roof beam rebar ● Plastering is underway in some areas of the school buildings ● Excavation for the drainage is on-going... JARDIN DE NIÑOS 13 DE SEPTIEMBRE PRESCHOOL ● The floor slab has been poured ● Brick laying is well underway (see photo bottom left), with competitions between teams to help keep up a good pace of work ● Work on the electrical registers has been finished
