FIGURE GROUND MAPPING
-WILDY GOAT DAIRY LAND-
This project is aiming to reactivating this town by introducing a development trigger – goat dairy industry. This town will be act as a satellite town of Greater Melbourne Area offering most fresh dairy products and try to achieve self- sufficient gradually.

FINDINGS Town status: Empty, nothing special happen, lacking of vitality.
SITE CONDITION
06
Wildwood is a rural locality 30km north west away of Melbourne`s central business district. Most of the land use types in this town is mixed farming and grazing, and there is no showing of industry and any other productive drivers. According to governmental statistic, 546 population showed in 2011 census.
All dairy products need travel at least 160km to Wildwood and even further to Melbourne central business district.

Resilience and country character are the vital things make Monto, the Queensland`s legend dairy capital town has been stood over years. Monto won the Australia`s legend dairy capital 2015. The dairy industry is not only the economic driver, but also the heritage and part of cultures of this lovely town. Dairy industry has been build the community bond, tight families together, and tight family together. In addition of producing high quality dairy products, the dairy festivals and shows definitely help represent the agricultural productivity. The resilience not only exist in the dairy system, but also in community spirit. Comprehensive urban planning cannot avoid all potential issues. And flood didn`t destroy this town, but make it stronger.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY
HAND TRACING MASTERPLAN The initial phase of masterplan, start to building the components of a dairy system.
THIS PROCESS IS TRYING TO BUILD A COMPREHENSIVE LOGIC ABOUT FOR RUNNING THE DAIRY SYSTEM. IT CONSIDERED THE INNER LOGIC OF DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, AND ALSO TRYING TO WORK WITH HOW TO DESIGN IN TIME BY CONCERNING THE PROGRAMS THROUGH SEASONS.

Ph level is one of the most important factors help decide crop plan and cropping season.
Salinity is essential to understand the soil structure and it is very useful for irrigation system consideration.
Soil Organic Carbon give information about nutrition level in soil, it will be relate to the crop management and harvesting season.
Drain direction and Watershed analysis give basic understanding about the moisture level, and it helps decide the location of residential area as living area are better located in dry area rather than wet area. It also helps decide where and how to apply with WSUD.
Soil type is essential through the design process, it helps making decision about crop type to grow and irrigation system in terms of various infiltration rate.

PROJECT SUMMARY
DATA SOURCE Victoria state government data, https://www.data.vic.gov.au/ CSIRO, https://data.csiro.au/dap/search?kw=TERN_Soils Collaborative Workspace for Australian Digital Soil Mapping, http://www.ozdsm.com.au/ozdsm_map2.php
This project shows a place making process, which is a process of creating vibrant and resilient local community even could able to be work with the wider city system. Rather than making a prim and general plan, this project is trying to take a different way- by introducing a concept to this town and to see whether it could make some fun. When the site is empty, there must be full of potentials. The interesting about design is design process could interact with designers and planners personal characters and preference, from design methodology to colour using as long as the design foundation based on reliable analysis. The reason why choose goat dairy is matching market principle. It is more suit this town`s condition as goats require smaller space than cows. And increasing demands of goat dairy products present in Victoria these days. ‘Wildy goat dairy farm’ is the home for 160 Saanen goats, which will be a middle size organic goat dairy farm in Victoria. Dairy system is not only an industry, it even could be a part of culture and lifestyle. There are many inspirations from Monto, Queensland. The strong community spirit grow from dairy industry, and this town indeed make the country as an adorable place not just a productive tool. When the farm size and scale is limited, developments cannot just depends on the dairy productions. This is where place making need come in. According to profit model, industry can decide how many raw milk to sale, how many will be proceed to cheese making, and how many will be enough for satisfy locals. As the goal is trying to stimulating the town`s vitalities. This project also trying to involve with seasons, consider about the concept as a fluent process, not just a stable system. However, this methodology may make logic presents a bit distract. Then many ideas come through the process of thinking about how to make this town activated through whole year. In order to run the dairy system, design strategies involves a multidisciplinary approach to the development. Agricultural, hydrological and WSUD knowledge got participate into design process. A town, likes an organic synthesis, full of potentials and changes. What a design can do is set up a foundation and make it grow. It is hard to speculate the where it will be as this synthesis will integrate with many reactions surrounds which out of design field. So the design method is not set a rigid frame, but try to stimulate its potentials and provide open opportunities.
