Welcome to Musical Showcase 2021 Musical Showcase is our premiere music evening for our Middle and Senior School musicians. 2021 has again been a challenging year with COVID impacting musical and dramatic performances across the country. Although we have not been able to do all our planned performances this year, we have been very fortunate in Queensland and most of our events have gone ahead. We have again modified our usual format for Musical Showcase by having two mini concerts with predominantly Middle School ensembles in the first concert and Senior School ensembles in the second. As this concert will be the last formal performance for our Year 12 musicians, I would like to pay a special tribute to them. They are a particularly talented cohort who have superbly led and inspired our younger musicians and I’m sure that we will see some of them in concert halls and stages around the world in the future. The benefits of having been involved in Performing Arts will assist these students in all aspects of life and I have no doubt they will reflect back on their involvement with great joy. The famous 19th Century novelist and playwright Victor Hugo once said - “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.” We hope you enjoy the musical smorgasbord and join with me in congratulating our wonderful musicians on their achievements here this evening.
