CELEBRATING
EXCELLENCE & DIVERSITY
FROM THE
“ OPPORTUNITY IS EVERYWHERE HERE AT THE COLLEGE – IT’S WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO COME AND GRASP IT” (HUGH McGUIRE, YEAR 12 STUDENT, 2021)
PRINCIPAL At ASC, we believe there are as many definitions of success as there are students at the College! There are so many things we love about ASC, and right at the top of that long list is the College’s unique culture – a culture characterised by diversity and inclusion, where students of all abilities and interests are warmly welcomed, and their gifts and successes valued and celebrated. Proudly a non-selective school – students are not required to pass a test to enter All Saints’ College – we also don’t impose entry cut-offs to preclude students from joining ATAR courses that they may be passionate about studying. For us, the focus is on fostering a genuine love of learning, and that learning journey is unique to each student. As its title indicates, this brochure celebrates not only the wonderful achievements but also the impressive diversity of our graduating Class of 2021. And while this publication provides just a snapshot of our youngest alumni, we take this opportunity to thank all members of the Class of 2021 for their wonderful contribution to our College and its community in their final year and across their years at ASC: in the classroom, on the stage and sports
field, in service and the wide array of cocurricular activities, and so on. It would be remiss of me to not mention at this point all the staff who, along with students’ families, have supported the students not only in their final year but throughout their years at ASC: teachers across all year levels, as well as our administrative staff, grounds staff, coaches and so on. We thank them all for their dedicated support of and care for our students. In addition to thanking our graduates, we wish each of them authentic happiness: the deep and sustainable happiness that comes from living a meaningful life, a life characterised by serving something bigger than us. In this, they are wellpractised from their years at All Saints’ College! We will be following the journeys of our youngest Old Saints beyond school with great interest, confident that they are fine young men and women with skills, talents, interests and abilities that will serve their communities well. Go well and thank you, Class of 2021! Ms Belinda Provis BA, Dip Ed, MBA
COURSE LEADERS All Saints’ College also celebrates the breadth of its success, achieving ‘course leader’ status in a range of subjects. (This status is awarded to schools based on the percentage of students whose marks are in the top 15% of all students taking that course.)

A DIVERSE
EXPERIENCE
WE ARE PLEASED TO PROVIDE A SNAPSHOT OF ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE STUDENTS’ DIVERSE EXPERIENCES, INTERESTS AND ASPIRATIONS.
SINCE MY JOURNEY AT ALL SAINTS’ BEGAN IN YEAR 7 IN 2016, I HAVE ALWAYS FELT AT HOME AND SUPPORTED BY THIS COMMUNITY. From in class, where the teachers have been passionate and enthusiastic about what they are teaching, to the incredible range of cocurricular activities that have enabled me to explore anything from dance to debating, I have been pushed to expand my horizons and try as many new things as I can. This holistic approach to education has made my experience at ASC one that I will value for the rest of my life. The leadership and teamwork skills I have been able to develop through service opportunities and my role on the House and Student Councils will be vital in university and beyond. I also know the friendships and connections I have made at All Saints’ will stay with me far into the future.
GEORGIE BLEVIN
TASHIE BAKER In Years 11 and 12 I chose an ATAR pathway, studying English, Physics, Chemistry, Politics and Law and Math Methods, following my passion for STEM but also expanding on my interest in politics. I am very grateful for the opportunity ASC gave me to accelerate my study of the Chemistry course, commencing in Year 10 so I could complete the subject in Year 11. I particularly enjoyed the Chemistry and Politics and Law courses, and now am planning on studying Chemistry, and Political Science and International Relations in the Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) program at UWA in 2022. Following that, I hope to work in the field of science policy. I look forward to keeping in touch with the College community into the future as I know I will always have a group of amazing individuals I can connect to, and I can’t wait to see what our future holds.
I CAME TO ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE IN YEAR 7 AND SHORTLY AFTER WAS OFFERED A PERFORMING ARTS’ SCHOLARSHIP FOR DRAMA. My experience of All Saints’ saw an involvement in all of the Arts programs the College had to offer. From Year 7 to 9 productions, to workshops with industry professionals to playing Tanya in the 2021 College Production of’ Mamma Mia’ the acting opportunities I was provided with made my high school experience special. The skills they taught me and the bonds I formed with my castmates and the staff involved will forever be valuable to me. All Saints’ also provided me with many opportunities in areas beyond the incredible Arts program. I was lucky enough to take on leadership roles, such as Class Representative, Student Council Member and Arts Captain, which taught me a lot about organisation, leadership and delegating. The Young Writers’
Program offered at Fremantle Prison was another experience I valued greatly, as I got to develop my writing skills through learning from professional authors. I chose an ATAR pathway, electing to study Psychology, Maths Applications, Drama, English and Literature. Thanks to All Saints' prompt response to changes in ATAR requirements, I was able to study both English and Literature, and studying these two subjects made a big difference to my enjoyment of ATAR. All Saints’ provided me with so many different opportunities, and beyond high school I intend to carry this through by keeping my options open. I hope to study Marketing at Curtin University while continuing to pursue acting and, of course, would love to stay in contact with All Saints’ and perhaps help out with the College Productions that were such a big part of my high school experience.
I HAVE BEEN AT ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE SINCE 2013 WHEN I STARTED IN YEAR 4. SINCE THEN WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE COLLEGE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE… ATTRIBUTABLE TO ITS UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE. TO ME ASC HAS BEEN A SECOND HOME, ONE OF INCLUSIVITY AND EXCELLENCE. The wide array of opportunities and experiences has proved so helpful in building my character and setting the foundations for my journey ahead. I look back fondly on memories made with peers and staff during classes, carnivals, cocurricular activities and school camps, for example. The College community has fostered relationships that I will hold dear into the future, all made possible by our amazing College staff, who are admirably passionate and caring.
In my Senior years I chose the ATAR pathway, which proved a good challenge for me alongside my other commitments, and which I learnt valuable skills. Looking back, I may have changed my subject selection a little, but I appreciate the flexibility ASC offers all its students with the intent to nurture their journey through their schooling. Beyond ASC, I hope to study Physiotherapy, aiming to combine my passions for sport and humanitarian efforts. While I am very excited for what lies ahead in the next chapter of my life, it is with a heavy heart that I depart the College community. It gives me great pleasure to know that, in moving from our community, I am able to step into another similar to that of the College the Old Saints’ community. I will be forever grateful for my ASC experience, and for all the people who made it possible. I look forward to giving back to the College community, with the hope to make other people’s experience of the College life just as special as mine.
OLIVIA CLINCKERS I’VE BEEN AT ASC SINCE KINDY - 14 YEARS. During my time at the College, I’ve been able to discover what I’m passionate about through the cocurricular program. I’ve participated in a variety of activities over the years - Celtic band, choir, orchestra, mock trials, swimming, netball and dance, to name a few. I have loved my time at ASC, not only for the experiences I have had, but also for the connections I have made with other students and teachers. I am grateful for all the support I have received over the years, and how it has helped me to pursue one of
JADE DESTREMAU my passions - music. If I hadn’t been allowed a few weeks of time off in 2018 and 2019, I would have never been able to participate in a music camp in England. I was able to catch up and keep up with the work that I was missing while I was over there, all due to how supportive and understanding my teachers were. I completed the WACE pathway, studying Literature, Music, Chemistry, Applications and Politics and Law. My favourite subject was Music - it was a small class but we had a lot of fun. I’m not too sure what I would like to do as a career, but currently I have accepted an offer at UWA for a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology.
I COMMENCED MY TIME AT ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE TWO YEARS AGO, AT THE START OF YEAR 11. Throughout my short experience at All Saints’ College, I was fortunate enough to experience a multitude of activities which I enjoyed greatly, such as House Choir, Year 12 Retreat, sports carnivals and cocurricular dance, which enabled me to form friendships with my peers and the younger years, as well as feel welcomed into the All Saints’ College community. Whilst all these experiences were highlights of my schooling experience, the most enjoyable and special was having the opportunity to teach and choreograph my own cocurricular dance project with fellow student Harry, and to see it performed on stage at the Dance Concert: a truly unforgettable moment, which has made the All Saints’ experience unique and special. Turning to the staff at All Saints’, I have always felt supported and encouraged by the teachers, who have gone above and beyond by answering
ZAKARIA EBRAHIM any questions I have and taking time out of their schedules to ensure I can better understand the course content. This enabled me to feel confident and prepared for ATAR exams. I studied the ATAR pathway in my final years at the College, due to my initial desire to pursue subjects such as Chemistry and English at a tertiary level. Whilst difficult, the ATAR course work and exam load helped to foster a strong work ethic and to build close relationships with my classmates, with us helping each other to succeed. After concluding my time at the College, this December I will be sailing to France with my father, and then commence a gap year travelling around Europe, working and seeing my family, before hopefully returning to university to study for an English or Law degree with the aim of becoming a secondary school teacher and perhaps one day, work at ASC! I hope to keep in contact with the ASC community, especially my friends and peers in the younger years, due to the friendships built during my time at the College.
MY JOURNEY AT ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE BEGAN IN 2008 WHEN I COMMENCED KINDERGARTEN, AND I HAVE REMAINED AT THE COLLEGE FOR THE REST OF MY EDUCATION. Staying at All Saints’ for all these years has provided me with the opportunity to build long-lasting and meaningful relationships: some of the bonds I have today are with the same people I began my journey with in 2008! Throughout my time at the College I have been incredibly lucky to have participated in several amazing opportunities: one notable experience was meeting and taking part in a private interview with Sir Bob Geldof in 2015 when he came to the College to give a speech about the journey from Charity to Justice. Through this experience I developed a passion for service which has remained with me to this day. I had vast opportunities to involve myself in service-learning programs such as Salvation Army’s Red
JAMES GANT Shield Door Knock Appeal, Nulsen’s Youth Patron Program, Anglicare’s Sleepout and, most recently, the All Saints’ Catalyst Leadership Team which involves senior students cooperating to organise a social enterprise. Taking part in these experiences has broadened my view of the world, and has helped me to develop a deeper sense of empathy which I have learned is a meaningful tool. In my senior years, studying Physics at the College fostered a passion for science in me and opened my mind towards the idea of using science to solve the world’s problems. This has led me to study a Bachelor of Engineering along with a Bachelor of Science in 2022. At the College the teachers have been nurturing, whilst also providing the resources for us to thrive independently. Something which has remained constant throughout my journey is the positive relationships which I have been able to form with teachers and other staff, and this has contributed significantly to my wonderful experience at All Saints’.
I HAVE BEEN ENROLLED AT ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE SINCE 2019 AND, ALTHOUGH I HAVE ONLY BEEN AT THE COLLEGE FOR THREE YEARS, I HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE SO MUCH. I have enjoyed my time within the Arts, specifically in my participation in the Senior Drama, “We ARE the Future Eaters”. Cocurricular activities like Mock Trials were fascinating experiences to be a part of. I would say the thing that makes ASC special is the breadth of the opportunities for students during their high school experience, rather than just specific subject areas. I would describe my relationship with my teachers as relaxed and friendly. I have had largely the same teachers over the course of my time at All Saints’, and they have been approachable, kind and understanding.
I studied four ATAR subjects: Maths Applications, Drama, English (Literature in Year 11) and Modern History, in addition to completing two Certificate IIIs and a Certificate II, both in the Media and Technology industry. I have always believed Applications to be an important base for anything, and I initially undertook Literature in Year 11 to serve as a good balance to Drama and History. I later dropped it for English in Year 12 which, after later consideration, I regret. I studied History for my love of the subject, finding my Russian units in Year 12 to be some of the most interesting things I’ve learnt. I studied Drama ATAR, as it is my primary career goal to join the performance industry and I have been studying Drama from before my time at ASC. I do hope to keep in touch with ASC as it is a good community that I will miss in the coming years. It has catered to our needs as students.
LOTTE GEORGE ARRIVING AMIDST PEAK HOUR TRAFFIC AT THE CHAPEL CARPARK IN 2016 AND NERVOUSLY MAKING MY WAY TO THE 7Z CLASSROOM, I KNEW THAT ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE WAS WHERE I BELONGED. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT HIGH SCHOOL WOULD BE LIKE, BUT IT TURNED OUT FAR BETTER THAN I HAD IMAGINED. My amazing experience at ASC comes from the variety of unique opportunities offered and incredible support given by staff and my peers. Being able to attend Curtin University to complete a Human Biology unit when I was 15, presenting a team idea in future AI technologies for Microsoft and delivering a conference workshop about this post-event,
THOMAS GEROVICH and engaging in numerous work experiences in a medical research lab, including an interdisciplinary conference at the Harry Perkins Research Institute, are all threads in the rich tapestry of experiences during my time at the College. Leading from many angles has helped me develop and sharpen important life skills. A few favourite opportunities include Amana Advocates, GenConnect, coaching athletics, sprints and cross-country, commentating at sports carnivals and my inclusion in the Olympic Changemaker Program. The staff not only taught me the curriculum (which was challenging at times) in an engaging manner but fostered valuable study habits along the way. They were always available to help, within or outside classes, which I gladly took advantage of during exams – perhaps a little too much! My Year 7 teacher advised me to segment study into 20-minute blocks and learn from mistakes by marking my work (a type of flearning, as explained by Ms Provis), and to go to bed at 8:30pm, which I mostly adhered to. These deceptively simple pointers
were key to all my achievements, and I cannot thank staff enough for them. The HPE staff were always extremely supportive of my sporting endeavours and, even though latterly I was almost always running injured, they provided me with many opportunities to be involved in other ways. In my final two years I studied the ATAR pathway, completing units in: Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, English, Mathematics Applications and the Elite Sports Program. Being very science-oriented, you can guess which subjects were my favourites. I loved every second of all my courses, including the elusive titration calculations, even learning to spell the chytridiomycosis pathogen name, and yes, maximum flow, although these all may have terrified me slightly. Along my journey I achieved Year 11 and 12 Academic Awards and Honours and the Year 11 Biology Course Prize, exceeding my own expectations. I have an amazing group of friends, albeit small, from the College, who I don’t know what I would do without. One of the most valuable lessons I have learned from the All Saints’ is
to be 100% your best self. Be kind, thoughtful and honest, and don’t change for anyone. Living using ERIC has helped me develop and grow towards a bright and happy future. My ultimate goal is to discover something new in medicine that can make a huge and positive impact in the world of healthcare. Ideally this would be in the field of neurocardiology as a specialist or surgeon. I am excited to attend an interview at UWA shortly for Pharmacy. I believe this wouldn’t have been possible without having been a student at All Saints’. I will definitely keep in touch with my close friends, favourite teachers, Principal and those I have mentored in the ASC community. I plan to return to coach and tutor students in the coming years, as I want to continue having a positive impact on those at ASC, learned from past students who have inspired me.
I ATTENDED ALL SAINTS’ FROM YEAR 7 TO YEAR 12 AND HAVE ENJOYED IT THOROUGHLY. THE RELATIONSHIPS I HAVE BUILT WITH THE PEOPLE THERE WILL HOPEFULLY LAST A LONG TIME. All Saints’ was so enjoyable to attend due to how the College always changes it up every year in some way - it didn’t just feel like you were going through the same year over and over again. As I progressed through the Senior School I found more opportunities begin to present themselves, such as cocurricular activities, including Tuesday morning basketball with Mr Haxby. Life in the ASC classroom was also a lot more enjoyable than at my old school, as All Saints’ allowed time for us to independently learn some topics while still providing help, if needed.
LUCAS HO My experience at All Saints’ was unique as I built good relationships not only with the students in my year level, but across the whole College as well, including people from different year levels and with teachers. I think this happened because of the activities that the College provides to allow different year groups to interact, such as interhouse sport, and interhouse quiz. My relationships with the teachers were always positive, especially in the later years, and this was because the staff were always trying to get to know the students and managing to find a way to keep their teaching fresh and not repetitive. I hope to keep in touch with the All Saints’ community – it has been a big part of developing who I am as a person, and I have met there some of the best people I know.
I BEGAN MY ALL SAINTS’ JOURNEY BACK IN 2016 AS A YEAR 7 STUDENT.
Following high school I hope to study Postgraduate Medicine at The University of Western Australia, so that I can use my knowledge to impact the lives of many people.
Over the six years I’ve been at the College, I have participated in a range of cocurricular activities, including GenConnect and various musical ensembles. These experiences allowed me to develop my skills as a person and develop connections with new people.
My time at All Saints’ has been a unique and largely memorable one. I will continue to nurture the friendships I have made, and I hope to maintain a connection to the All Saints’ community. While I will miss the little things like the Year 12 Common Room and events that have marked my time at high school, I look forward to what the future holds, and would like to thank the College for providing the opportunities and experiences, and everyone who has supported me over the years.
Although the combination of subjects I chose to study (Maths Methods and Specialist, Chemistry, Physics, Music and English) was not entirely unique, they reflected my strengths and interests, something that is essential in surviving the last few years of high school. While these were challenging at times, I found them enjoyable for a variety of reasons, whether it be the content itself, the teacher or the friends I sat with that made the class finish faster! The teachers I’ve had were caring, supportive and – most importantly – competent.
ELIANA HULLETT I HAVE ATTENDED ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE SINCE 2016, WHEN I BEGAN AS A VERY NERVOUS YEAR 7 STUDENT. Throughout my time here I’ve learnt and enjoyed so many different things that I never would have thought to even try. Some of my favourite experiences have been the OLP camps, especially the Year 12 Retreat, as you always come away with new friendships and the best memories. Other highlights include all of the service and fundraising opportunities across the years, and being part of the Year 12 Student Council as a House Captain. Not only did I develop crucial leadership skills, but I was able to leave a little of my own legacy behind. Personally, I think the ASC experience is so special because everyone genuinely cares about each other. It’s not just a school where you go to learn and sit assessments, but a real community where people can discover their passions and be supported in whatever they attempt.
HARRISON ION I decided to take the ATAR pathway, studying English, English Lit, Maths Applications, Psychology and Politics and Law. I plan to study journalism and political sciences, so that I can hopefully become an investigative political reporter. I’d also love to publish a book or two. It feels truly surreal that my time at All Saints’ has come to an end; of course I knew it would happen, but it always seemed so far away. It breaks my heart a little, but I’m also confident that this College has provided me with all the skills I need to take on the world. I definitely will be keeping in touch with the ASC community – everyone here has taught me so much, and it’s been a significant part of my life that I will never forget.
MY JOURNEY BEGAN BACK IN KINDERGARTEN WITH STILL MY FAVOURITE TEACHER, MISS FLANAGAN. I have so many fond memories of my time in the Junior School, with my favourite memory being when there were Easter Bunny footprints throughout the classroom and Easter eggs for all. As my journey continued, I was lucky that the College was so passionate about the Arts. Mrs Kerkovius, Miss Newhouse and Ms Codalonga all played a massive part in encouraging and influencing my passion for the Arts. From Year 4, I was given the opportunity to have solo singing lessons with Mrs Rosemary Jose, my singing teacher to this day. This early influence has shaped me into the person and performer I am today. The opportunities to perform have been amazing. A great highlight was singing with the UWA Symphony Orchestra, as was performing in various College productions. The College also taught me how to be a leader with the opportunity for
ASHLEY LANCE leadership positions at an early age. I was lucky enough to be House Captain in Year 6 and then, in my later years, to be part of the Arts Council. I chose the VET Pathway through the College, with the guidance of Mr Paul King who has been fantastic. I completed a Certificate IV in Musical Theatre and four General subjects: English, Maths, Music and Drama My favourite part of attending All Saints’ College has been the sense of community and bond which you form with peers and teachers. When you reach Years 11 and 12, the bond between teacher and student becomes so special and makes it so hard to leave. The teachers all go over and above for every student: nothing is too much trouble, they continue to nurture and support us in our goals. I know this is one thing I will miss greatly. After ASC I hope to pursue a life in Musical Theatre, and I have recently auditioned for several universities to to study Bachelor of Musical Theatre. Without the guidance and support of ASC, I don’t believe this goal would have been possible. Remember always follow your dreams!
I WRITE THIS ARTICLE ON THE EVE OF THE MOST CHALLENGING, STRESSFUL AND OVERWHELMING WEEKS OF MY LIFE. Over the last 10 years at the College I have been blessed with some of the most wonderful opportunities I may ever have in my life, and I am eternally grateful for the journey that has led to this point – it’s thanks to All Saints’ that I have been given the skillset to overcome these challenges. My first memory of the College is back in 2012, as a new student to Year 3B having moved from Hong Kong. That was quite a different time - I had hair down to my knees, I cruised through school and I was taller than average height! My transition was quick and easy, thanks to the strong, welcoming community. One strength of the College is absolutely the staff. The support from our teachers has been staggering,
LUC LATINO especially in this final year. Our Year Coordinators and Heads of House go out of their way to provide support for every student. I’ve been fortunate enough to work particularly closely with the staff in the TSC over the last few years, having been given the opportunity to hold an Agency position as one of the College’s first Tech Coaches. This year I took Literature, Physics, Methods, Specialist and Computer Science, but my biggest area of learning has been in service, entrepreneurship and creative problem solving – while I hope to study Data Science, I suspect my future lies along the lines of social enterprise.
I STARTED MY ALL SAINTS’ JOURNEY IN 2016 AS A BRIGHTEYED AND BUSHYTAILED YEAR 7. I was initially somewhat anxious about beginning this new chapter of my life, in what seemed at the time to be a school filled with strangers: some even had beards! However, very quickly it became apparent to me that this school was going to be my second home. I fell in love with the College immediately. I was swamped with support, encouraged to be myself, and pushed to make the most of the endless opportunities offered. So that’s what I did. I took every opportunity that came to me and continually pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Due to this, I believe that I not only grew as a student but, more importantly, flourished as a person. I believe that the continuous support of the College was the driving force that allowed me to develop the mentality of courage,
perseverance and determination when faced with challenges. Aside from the fact that All Saints’ has amazing facilities and a beautiful campus, in my opinion what makes the College special are the people in it. I can honestly say that the staff at All Saints’ are genuinely interested and invested in the development and journey of each and every student. The student-teacher relationships that I have been lucky enough to form have transformed into friendship-like bonds. If that isn’t an indication of the quality of the staff, I don’t know what is! As well as the staff at the College, the students are also genuinely kind and supportive people that create a safe environment in which to learn. I have met lifelong friends at All Saints’ and for that, I am forever grateful.
ELIZABETH MCGUIRE I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE FROM YEAR 7 TO YEAR 12. I enjoyed so much of my time as a student. I was involved in many sporting activities such as netball, basketball and football, playing both netball and basketball in All Saints’ teams. All Saints’ was special for me because of the relationships and friendships gained within the College - I will never forget the special people I met and built these relationships with. They played such a massive part in my life to this day – friends I intend to keep. The teachers at All Saints’ are simply, ‘super special’ – they didn’t just help and teach me, they acted as friends and were there to lean on when I needed the support. I decided on the General pathway in my final years as I felt ATAR was not for me and, if I do eventually go
HUGH MCGUIRE to university, I will take a different path. I studied Maths, English, Art and Drama. I also completed a Sport Coaching unit. Drama was a subject that I thoroughly enjoyed, and my skills developed extensively. My plan for the future is Interior Design which I plan to study at TAFE. If I enjoy it and feel it is the career for me, I would like to transition to the Interior Design course at Curtin University. Alternatively, I haven’t completely discounted Drama…I have been told I have a talent in that area and may pursue this down the track. I hope to keep in touch with the ASC community because it was such a big part of my life, and I would love to know what my friends and peers are doing in the next stage of their lives.
LIFE POSES ITS CHALLENGES, BOTH BIG AND SMALL, AND THE ONLY WAY TO GROW IS TO EXPERIENCE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I’ve been a part of the All Saints’ community for six years now, surrounded by a net of support and encouragement crafted by the many members who all seek to make positive change in our immediate and wider communities. The ability to be vulnerable and grow from the challenges that these high school years have posed wouldn’t have been possible, if it weren’t for my family here at All Saints’. When traversing the most explorative years of adolescence, we as students rely on one thing above all else: opportunity. The opportunity to feel accommodated as an elite athlete or artist needing to travel interstate for competitions. The opportunity to discover new passions with the
exemplar cocurricular programs. The opportunity to find who we truly are. I myself am a leader. A diligent, hardworking one – a College Captain even. I’m also a well-equipped accounting student, a motorsports racer like Daniel Ricciardo, a member of the College choir, and you’ll even find me pirouetting through the air as a ballet dancer. Above all, however, I’m an aspiring actor who has had immense interaction with the Drama Department of the College, and this is something I will pursue beyond this wonderful All Saints’ journey. Opportunity is everywhere, here at the College – it’s waiting for people to come and grasp it. Simply, the world at All Saints’ is whatever the individual makes of it. It’s a place of risk and reward. It’s a place of like-minded people and committed staff. I’ll never forget my days here – the people, the memories, the culture. I hope that, long after I leave my high school years, I can continue to be someone that both I and the College can be proud of.

I HAVE BEEN AT ALL SAINTS' COLLEGE SINCE THE START OF YEAR 7.
I STARTED MY JOURNEY AT ALL SAINTS’ IN 2016 AS A YEAR 7 STUDENT.
Fortunately for me, ASC had an amazing Transition program from primary school. They made sure we felt welcomed but not overwhelmed - it was such a positive experience. Since that first day of Year 7, I knew I would love this school tremendously. ASC has taught me that it is not all about getting good grades, but it is also about giving back to the community and getting yourself involved in a variety of opportunities. There are so many wonderful things to get involved in at the College. I was involved in after-school sport, the service programs, dance concerts, drama productions, peer support, College tours and leadership roles. All these opportunities helped me grow as a person and become much more insightful. Throughout my time at All Saints staff and teachers have consistently helped me. They were always willing to spend time with students, set up meetings and make sure we fully understand what was being asked. They were passionate about helping us learn!
I started Year 11 on the ATAR pathway, but half way through the year I realised that ATAR was not for me. It took me a while to come to terms with this decision. I quickly set up meetings with the guidance/course counsellors to figure out what to do. Although it was a massively stressful time for my parents and me, the staff at ASC made the process super easy. I made the decision to switch to a Certificate IV in Health and Nursing Studies in Year 12, and this saw me going to TAFE every Friday. It was by far the best decision for me and I am so grateful that ASC gave me that opportunity. ATAR is not for everyone and there are now so many ways to get into where you want to go. So, without going through the stresses of ATAR, I have offers to two universities, and I have completed a Certificate IV. All Saints’ has been the best thing for me: I have made lifelong friends and I will forever cherish the amazing memories. ASC has helped me build my confidence, and I thank the wonderful staff for that. I will miss the College community so much and I will definitely keep in touch, as it has been such a positive impact in my life.
Since then, I have been fortunate to be offered many opportunities both inside and outside the classroom which helped me grow and develop friendships that I cherish. The diverse community and wide range of cocurricular activities at the College allowed me to explore a variety of things. Over six years I have had a multitude of unique and memorable experiences, from being involved in choir and interschool debating to various service programs. I was honoured to be appointed Functions Captain in 2021 and this opportunity enabled me to work with some incredible staff and students who have helped me develop as a leader. One of the most special things about All Saints’ is its warm and welcoming environment. There is always a place for everyone in the community to belong and pursue their passions. The teachers go
above and beyond to ensure that every student is catered for, and their kind, caring nature makes them approachable to ask for help. This encouraged me to constantly strive to do my best, knowing that there is plenty of support available. In my final years at the College I studied English, Mathematics Methods, Mathematics Specialist, Chemistry, Physics and French. While the workload was sometimes challenging, my dedicated teachers were always happy to help, and I learnt valuable organisational and time-management skills. Through taking these subjects my interest in the STEM fields was enhanced, so I am looking forward to studying Engineering and Data Science at UWA. I am forever grateful for my time at All Saints’ and for all the friendships and amazing experiences I have had. The College has become a second home to me, so I hope that I can stay connected to the community in the future.
MICHELLE THESMAN IT IS DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT MY JOURNEY AT ALL SAINTS’ BEGAN NEARLY SIX YEARS AGO... AND FOR THE LASTING RELATIONSHIPS, EXPERIENCES AND MYRIAD OF OPPORTUNITIES SINCE THAT FIRST DAY IN YEAR 7, I AM BEYOND GRATEFUL. In my final years of school, I studied Literature, Mathematics Methods, Human Biology, Psychology and Visual Arts. The genuine care, passion and patient guidance of my teachers, and the supportive, warm environment of the All Saints’ community make it possible for every student to pursue their own unique passions and to excel in their chosen areas. It is also the College’s inclusive and nurturing atmosphere that has made my high school experience a truly memorable and enjoyable one.
It would be remiss, however, not to mention the learning that occurs outside of the classroom. The lessons learned and bonds strengthened on the sporting field, the courts and in the pool as a competitor, team-mate, or coach; the conversations with teachers, peers and students from years above and below that we walk away from smiling; and the new experiences and perspectives gained whilst working with the community in Fitzroy Crossing, or our neighbours from Nulsen Disabilities and Amana Living. Opportunities such as the artist workshops, the Connected fundraiser exhibition, the HotHouse Mentorship program and Invitational Exhibition have all allowed me to more intentionally pursue my interest in the Arts, whilst my position as Arts Captain in my final year of schooling offered the chance to help strengthen and ensure that such programs continue to be available for future students. My time at All Saints' has taught me to look beyond myself and to see the ways in which I can use my time, skills and the resources available to me to
help others. The selflessness and care I regularly see extended by my peers, teachers and members of the wider community encourage me to be more generous, and remind me to be grateful for all that I am blessed to have. I plan to study Psychology and Neuroscience when I commence university next year, and hope to help others through what I do. Whilst the future ahead is not set in stone, the valuable experiences and all that I have learned about myself from my time at All Saints’ will, no doubt, guide me in whichever paths I choose to take. I hope to remain connected to all the incredible people I have met along the way, and to the nurturing community that has welcomed and helped me grow across all these years.

I HAVE BEEN AT ALL SAINTS' FOR SIX YEARS, SINCE YEAR 7.
AS I REFLECT ON MY TIME AT ALL SAINTS’ AS IT COMES TO AN END, I FEEL NOTHING BUT AN IMMENSE SENSE OF GRATITUDE FOR THE INCREDIBLE, NURTURING COMMUNITY I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE A PART OF THESE PAST 13 YEARS.
I have enjoyed making lifelong friends and solidifying those relationships over the course of my time at ASC. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in a vast array of cocurricular activities, from interschool tennis to debating and Jazz band. I have made great friendships through these activities. I think the Leadership Team at All Saints’ is very innovative and inclusive, which inspires the whole College to be so as well. I also think the sense of community is unique and produces great people. The College’s Hothouse Company has been a great inspiration to me and provided many great opportunities. My relationship with the staff has been great, and it has always felt like I can talk to them whenever I need to. I have never felt that the staff are my superiors, but more my mentors.
I chose the ATAR pathway, studying Modern History, Maths Applications, Music, English and a Cert III in Screen and Media. I chose these subjects because I wanted to have a balance between academics and arts. My passion for music emerged and was nurtured during my time at ASC, and I am very grateful. I achieved Awards and then Colours for House and Music. After All Saints’ I am planning to go to WAAPA to study Music Composition and Technology. I will definitely keep in touch with the ASC community, as it is a great group of people with whom I feel I will always have a connection and who have all shared the ASC experience with me.
Everyone has a unique schooling experience, and All Saints’ accommodates each student's journey, ensuring that everyone is able to find and pursue their passions by providing such a wide variety of pathways, programs and activities. Since my commencement in 2009, I have found these passions in leadership, service, basketball, dance, drama and music, and have loved every opportunity to be able to engage in these activities. Over the years this has included being a house captain, being a member
of the ASC Basketball Club for 16 seasons, participating in annual dance concerts, College productions and music performances. And I am glad to say that I was still able to maintain strong commitments to all these activities throughout Year 12, providing a much-needed balance during times of stress. In my final year at ASC I studied ATAR Literature, Maths Methods, Maths Applications, Drama, Geography and Western Art Music, all of which I took great interest in and had so much fun studying. I thank my teachers for all their wisdom and inspiration. Their passion was infectious, and their dedication created such supportive learning environments. Although I'm still figuring out my plans for the future, I look forward to exploring life beyond Ewing Avenue, confident that All Saints’ has prepared me well for whatever path I decide to pursue. I will always treasure the memories made here and will for ever hold the instilled values of ERIC in my life.

I STARTED AT ALL SAINTS’ IN YEAR 7, IN 2016.
I HAVE BEEN AT THE COLLEGE FOR 14 YEARS.
When I joined the College I was very shy and reserved, and I was intimidated and overwhelmed at the many opportunities available in the Senior School. This changed immediately, as the welcoming and encouraging All Saints’ community allowed me to explore my interests and be part of some amazing projects. The favourite part of my school life was the relationships I developed with my peers and with the many incredible teachers at the College. The encouragement and support from my teachers helped build my confidence and my character, and shaped the person I am today. From the beautiful outdoor education camps that allowed us to build relationships as a cohort to the many service, arts and entrepreneurial cocurriculars, the pathways available to us were endless. Some of my most memorable experiences include aiding the Salvation Army to feed the homeless in Perth and spending time
with the residents at RAAFA. I was lucky to be a part of the team selected to go to the ICEE entrepreneurship program in China, and this experience gave me an insight on the impact one can make on the world, and allowed me to collaborate with students and teachers from around the world. My involvement in service programs over my time at the College has strengthened my passion for serving the community and making a positive impact in our world, and I hope to pursue a career where I am able to make this difference. I followed the ATAR pathway: Physics, Chemistry, Maths Methods and Specialist, Accounting and Finance and English. Science has always been my passion, and Physics was my favourite subject. I feel privileged to have studied at All Saints’, and will always cherish the memories of my years at the College. Thank you to the staff and the Class of 2021 for six unforgettable years.
The opportunities that have been provided for me have really made All Saints’ stand out as a great school. The vast amount of activities and classes to do and depth they go into are awesome. I have found common ground and understanding in the ways that the teachers help us to gain an understanding of the concept. The teachers are very flexible and they are comfortable to be around. I took the ATAR pathway in my last few years of schooling, studying Human Biology, Dance, Maths Apps, English and Chemistry. I hope to go to university and do a double degree in Social Media and Public Relations. I plan to keep in touch with ASC – in particular by supporting the Arts at the College through going to performances and workshops.
