LOCAL DISABILITY ADVOCATE ADDRESSES UN TARA GESNER tgesner@metroland.com People First of Canada president Kory Earle delivered a message about social inclusion and health to world leaders at the UN General Assembly in New York recently. "We see ourselves as self-advocates and full citizens of our country, living equally in the community," Earle said. "We see ourselves as people first." He added: "We have taken back control of our own lives from family, policy-makers and professionals such as support workers, doctors, social workers and others. For far too long they made decisions for us." Involved with People First at every level - locally, provincially
