Video Micro Converter Video Micro Converter (VMC) is a compact device used to convert a DVI signal to DMX or e:pix* for LED control of large media screens. Specially designed to easily output video content on LED media installations, one VMC grabs video signals of up to 4096 pixels. For video lighting installations requiring more than 4096 pixels, multiple VMCs can be daisy-chained to convert the entire video via DVI signal. The VMC features very flexible pixel mapping capabilities for demanding LED installations ranging from a few hundred to one million pixels. There are two available versions of this device; VMC outputs DMX and e:pix, while the VMC DMX outputs only DMX. LxWxH
*e:pix is an e:cue protocol similar to DMX, for faster communication between the VMC and Traxon e:pix-capable LED media products.

DMX2PWM 3Ch DMX2PWM 9Ch DMX2PWM Dimmers are used to control low-voltage LED fixtures by a DMX controller. Using PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) technique, they are designed for use with constant voltage LEDs with a maximum output current of 2A per channel, or 2.5A for the three-channel version. DMX signal is also amplified through DMX2PWM Dimmers for convenient daisy-chaining in projects where one DMX input signal must be distributed among seveÂral of these devices.
1
DMX2PWM Dimmers’ flexibility makes installations easy with auto and manual DMX addressing modes, and in the case of the nine-channel version, the option of using an RJ45 connector or loose wire for DMX connection. The reverse supply protection and self-resetting over-current protection ensure safety against possible damage due to incorrect wiring. The nine-channel version is conveniently mountable inside equipment racks using standard 35mm wide DIN rail.

DMX2CC 6Ch DMX2CC 12Ch Available in six-channel and twelve-channel versions, the DMX2CC enables DMX control of high power LEDs (1W and 3W) using a constant current dimming method, ensuring flicker-free and smooth dimming especially for environments such as television studios. A DMX out port repeats and amplifies the DMX signal for convenient daisy-chaining in projects where one DMX input signal must be distributed among several of these devices. Additionally, a self-diagnostic test function prevents damage to the unit and LEDs caused by incorrect wiring, open or short circuit, and overheating. DMX2CC is easily set up with auto and manual DMX addressing modes, and conveniently mountable inside equipment racks using standardized 35mm wide DIN rail.

PoE (Power over Ethernet) Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology describes a system to safely pass electrical power, along with data, on Ethernet cabling (cat 5 or higher). Power can come from a power supply within a PoE-enabled networking device such as an Ethernet switch or from a device built for “injecting” power onto the Ethernet cabling PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) A dimming technique made possible through constant voltage and turning the LEDs on and off at varying high frequencies, at which the human eye cannot detect any flickering. RDM (Remote Device Management) A protocol based on DMX512 with bi-directional communication capability between a lighting controller and RDM-capable lighting fixtures or devices. RS232 A standard for communication between devices in a control system, which allows interfacing with various external lighting control devices, as well as residential and building automation systems. TX Connect™ A connector system across Traxon products combining both power and data in a single cable.
Story of e:cue e:cue lighting control was established in 2001 by Philipp van Beeck and Dirk Beiner, as a research, design, and development company specializing in PC-based lighting control for the entertainment and architectural lighting industries. A young company whose initial distribution was handled solely by LightLife GmbH of Cologne, Germany, e:cue propelled itself into the market, participating in international shows such as Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) and WLF, and added its first sales partners in Austria and Japan in 2002 and 2003. In the same years, e:cue launched its e:series devices, and introduced e:net, e:cue’s own protocol, the backbone of its control system. By the end of 2005, e:cue had developed its first LED driver model, and made a significant introduction to the industry with its launch of the Butler and Smart series, products which remains essential in most lighting control systems. The company continued to grow an international presence with involvement in projects such as Galeria Seoul, South Korea, for which e:cue designed a custom system to control over 16,000 DMX universes, engaging complete transformation of the building’s skin. This project marked a milestone, elevating e:cue to a new level of involvement amongst the world’s largest and most complex LED projects.
e:cue continued to gain a global business presence, expanding its sales network to 19 countries, and in 2006, made several new additions. Jan Julius Miebach joined the team as Managing Director, while a headquarters office opened in Paderborn, Germany. Additionally, the company released news of a new shareholder, Traxon Technologies, Hong Kong, to whom e:cue was introduced one year prior during the international Light+Building conference. This new relationship led to the development of a combined Traxon/e:cue Research and Development Center in Paderborn, and the first e:cue office in the United States, located in New York, NY, in 2007.
e:cue continues to strengthen its position as a pioneer and industry leader on the cutting edge of product development, while broadening its global network and assuming major roles in dynamic lighting projects, worldwide, while focusing on its core values of flexibility, simplicity and innovation. www.ecue.com www.traxontechnologies.com
In 2008, after realizing the potential of their combined strengths, Traxon Technologies and e:cue lighting control joined together to form one global entity, with two brands, offering customers full turnkey LED systems and solutions, including a dedicated control product portfolio. Together, they proceeded to launch ten new architectural control products within the year, and in March 2009, market position was strengthened once again, as Traxon and e:cue entered into a joint venture partnership with OSRAM, part of the Siemens Group. This joint venture combined experience, innovation, and expertise, synergizing with OSRAM’s global presence.
