Photography Teachers in Charge of Subject: Mr Lee, Miss Ford and Mrs Donathy

Entry Requirements: A genuine interest and strong commitment to want to develop your photographic skills. A knowledge of photoshop and digital manipulation would be very beneficial.

Course Details: The skills you will develop will be wide and varied with particular focus on visual and creative perception involving research, investigation, selection, development, experiment, analytical, decision making etc. A working knowledge of processes and techniques and specialist vocabulary will be developed together with an understanding of critical and contextual studies involving photographers from past and present. Students will be required to study in one or more of the following areas:  Landscape photography  Still life photography  Portraiture  Experimental photography

Exams/Coursework: In both years the course is assessed both by coursework which runs from 1st September to 31st January and by an externally set assignment from 1st February to 1st May which is managed under exam conditions.

Career Options: Direct entry to university studying a wide range of photography, Art and Design courses including entry to the one year foundation course at Newcastle-under-Lyme College, or other BTEC Art and Design Courses.
