Editor's Note

To say this magazine is a LOVE STORY to our community would be an understatement. I have been very privileged to call many different cities and countries home, but this is the first time there is a home like this. A place where we embrace each other’s differences and opinions. The first time I heard “don’t yuk someone else’s yum,” it reminded me that within this community, we are not only physically different but also sexually different and are turned on in many different ways.

When taking on this project, I have kept a few things at the forefront of my mind. The idea is to create an inclusive community and educate as many people as possible. Education is the cornerstone of ALT LIFE Magazine. Could we occasionally miss the mark? Absolutely. That is where you, the reader, the community member, the human with a different perspective, can take a little ownership by telling us what you want more of (or less if that is the case). We have a small but dedicated staff willing to research, bring light to the “taboo,” and educate the community.

ALT LIFE Magazine would not exist if it were not for Dan & Lacy’s idea to create a magazine. I have been fortunate to “lurk in the background” and see not only their social media content but also to have honest human conversations. I remember the first time I met them at SPLASH ATLANTA in 2022. They were teaching a class on social media and data protection. We discovered that we have many things in common, but I remember telling my husband, “these people are good people; they want to educate others on the Lifestyle.” Now mind you, I had no clue they were who they were when we first met; I had discovered SwingTok, but I got them confused with a completely different couple. OOPS!

At ALT LIFE Magazine's core, we are about CONNECTING with people, LEARNING from others, and promoting RESPECT. If that doesn’t tell you what you need to know, I don’t know what else will. Just like Swinger Society, CONSENT will always be part of our ethos. If I had to develop a tagline for Swinger Society, Swinger Society Discord, and now ALT LIFE, it would go something like this “Community built on Consent and Education with a sprinkle of spice and naughtiness.” You get the gist. Let me be one of the first to welcome you to the community! Know that WE have a place here for YOU!!
