SLĂ€INTE! for piano (2010)
SlĂ inte! was born from an extract of Interalia (for ensemble). Although not exactly a piano transcription it is a reworking of the structures, materials and procedures of a fragment of that work, under a different perspective determined by the particularities of the piano. The relation with Interalia is then twofold: in their musical content as well as their dedication to James Dillon, with gratitude and admiration, on his 60th birthday. It was written for Noriko Kawai upon her kind request.
PERFORMANCE NOTES: -Accidentals are valid for all subsequent notes in the same measure (although when altered notes are separated considerably, accidentals have been replicated to help reading) -When pedal not indicated, a half pedal can be used to give a little resonance, at the discretion of the performer. -No beat should be accented at all. Especially repeated notes and chords should sound as evenly as possible.
Total duration: ca. 2 minutes
