first visit to Melbourne Faseeha Hashmi Amust Mufti Menk has returned to Australia but this time, his lecture series tour has made a beeline towards Melbourne for the very first time. Two Melbourne mosques, Islamic Community Milli Gorus (ICMG) in Meadow Heights and the Australian Islamic Centre in Newport had the pleasure to welcome him in Melbourne
during the first week of February 2018. Born and raised in Harare, Dr Ismail ibn Musa Menk also known as Mufti Menk, is the Grand Mufti of Zimbabwe. He is a leading global Islamic scholar with a high profile in social media, particularly on Twitter. He has hundreds of videos on his YouTube channel and has even more followers. Obtaining his Islamic education in Madinah, Saudi Arabia and holding a Doctorate in Social Guidance, the Mufti is well-regarded for
his Islamic knowledge and charming charisma. Speaking before two overflowing mosques, the sweet smiling Mufti began slowly in his usual manner but with no lack of vigour to a room full of enthused Melbournians. His main topic focused on the importance taqwa or God consciousness. This he said, is most imperative to maintain within our lives.

Packed with lots of activities – Islamic entertainment, Islamic quiz competition and Islamic Modest Fashion show – kept the thousands of visitors engaged over 2 days. ‘This consecutive successful international trade promotion & awareness event of Halal products & services has brought new opportunities for Australian traders, connecting to the trillion-dollar global Halal industry’ said the founding director of HEA, Syed Atiq ul Hassan at the end of the 2-day international Halal Exhibition and Conference. The event commenced on Saturday 10th February at 10am with the opening ribbon cutting ceremony performed by the Grand Mufti of Australia Ibrahim Abu Mohamad along with Ms Julie Owens, Australian Federal Member
Parliament, Mr. I Wayan Dipta, the Deputy Minister for Production & Marketing of Cooperatives, and Enterprises Republic of Indonesia and many community leaders, politicians, entrepreneurs and speakers of IHC 2018. The opening ceremony started with the recitation of the verse from Holy Quran followed by the speech of the Grand Mufti Ibrahim Abu Mohamad in Arabic which was simultaneously translated by Sheikh Shady Al Suleiman. Syed Atiq ul Hassan gave his welcome speech where he thanked all the honourable guests, local & international delegates, local & international exhibitors, sponsors, media partners, local & international journalists, volunteers and visitors. He said that organizing an exhibition or conference for him is not a big challenge change for but organizing Halal Expo and Conference was a challenge for him in order deal with all the dynamics of the Halal event and brining all the potential stakeholders, Halal industry players, Islamic organisations, leaders, politicians, community leaders of different ethnic communities under one roof. He said with the blessing of almighty Allah and extraordinary work of his team, we have delivered another successfully event of Halal Expo Australia. He particularly thanked to overseas exhibitors and
partners especially from Indonesian exhibitors, sponsors and the Consulate General of Indonesia and his staff for their great participation. Trade & Economy; Islamic Investment and Finance; Islamic Fashion & Design; Islamic Travel & Tourism where each session has 2 to 3 topics, these sessions were delivered by Dr. Haja Sittie Shayma Laidan, Ms Nurhastuty k. Wardhani, Dr. Amin, Hady, Dr. Anas Mohammad, Mr. Mushabab Saad Aiban, Syed Atiq ul Hassan, Dr. Zahid Hassan, Dr. Sheikh Asadullah, Mr. Irshad Cader, Almir Colan, Mr. I Wayan Dipta, Mr. Sheikh Muzzammil Dhedhy, Dr. Jan Ali, Dr. Abu Khair Jalaluddin, Ms. Euis Saedah, Ms Miriam Tulevski, Dr Aishath Shakeela, and Mr. Omar Yassine. IHC is a unique and first of its kind conference in Australia. Hon Ray Williams, the Minister for Multiculturalism New South Wales certification bodies, Islamic leaders, interfaith dialogue pleaders, and the representatives of the Government departments to meet, speak and seek consensual resolutions on critical issues related to Halal industry in ethical, professional and harmonious relations. The Halal businesses entrepreneurs, technocrats, scholars, academics, diplomats of different countries of interest, international & local delegates, Islamic and welfare organisations, professional service providers, local & international exhibitors attended the conference. The participants discuss steps to enhance and strengthen the network of the Halal industries and products/ services in Australia and the AsiaPacific region while planning to widen the Halal network to other countries and regions. Apart from imparting specific knowledge of the laws and their interpretation, the participants, at the same time, provide experience and awareness to those who are not well versed or clear about the importance of Halal products & services in the multicultural Australia and in the Australian economy as well. There were around 3,500 visitors on day 1 and 4,500 on day 2, overall 8,000 people attended the event this year.

Firstly, we are celebrating our 35 Year Anniversary as the first Islamic School established in Australia; as well as honouring our Year 12 achievements in 2017. Jerusalem, al-Quds as Israeli Capital:
The Lost Hope of Justice Dr. Rawaa El Ayoubi Gebara

In December 1917 — exactly 100 years before the declaration of Jerusalem as Israeli Capital by US President Trump — the British general Edmund Allenby took over Jerusalem control from the Ottoman defenders. This incident comes one month after the Balfour Declaration which was issued on November 2, 1917. It does not look like it is a coincidence that President Trump appears to have chosen December 2017, to announce that the United States recognises Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. It is
rather a sort of celebration of the Balfour Declaration centennial. In order to understand the background of this controversial decision by President Trump, it is important at this stage to give a glimpse into the historical incidents of the IsraeliPalestinian conflict which started by implementing the Balfour Declaration. This famous Declaration paved the way for the British government to establish “a national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine. The Declaration was generated in a form of a letter which was addressed by the foreign secretary, Arthur Balfour to Lionel Walter Rothschild, a figurehead of the British Jewish community. This Declaration was not decided overnight, rather, it was prepared and drafted several times before being decided on its context: [Dear Lord Rothschild,
I have much pleasure in conveying to you. on behalf of His Majesty’s Government, the following declaration of sympathy with
Jewish Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet. His Majesty’s Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country. I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation. enjoyed by Jews in any other country”. It is important to mention here that the rights of the indigenous populationthe Palestinians- which constitutes 90 per cent of the population back then, were ignored. Therefore, Balfour Declaration has lasting consequences until today, for Palestinians it marks the beginning of a process which lead to the loss of their homeland; they still suffer today. A research fellow at the University of Exeter, Ghada Karmi says “The problem with Zionism that the people came in with an agenda in order to take over the country and make it into a state for themselves at the expense of the native people.” Then she said, when answering the question “Do you see any kind of resolution in the horizon?” on AlJazeerah Upfront program, “there is one way forward, looking the reality on the ground, that Israel is in a possession of the whole of Palestine and rules it as well. But, the problem is that half of the population which are the Palestinians have no

rights and the Jews have all the rights. Statewide internet safety help for parents and children Media release A statewide campaign will be launched next week in more than 60 NSW communities to combat unsafe internet usage by and against young people. PCYC NSW, in partnership with the NSW Police Force Youth and Crime Prevention Command, will conduct public education forums throughout the state using the network and reach of 64 PCYC clubs between 7pm and 8pm next Tuesday, February 6. PCYC and Youth and Crime Prevention Command officers regularly conduct education sessions as part of business as usual in PCYC clubs and schools across the state. with Safer Internet Day provided the opportunity to offer parents, caregivers and youth the chance to gain a better understanding of the potentially serious issues affecting children, including cybercrime, bulling and sexting. “As part of the Police Commissioner’s mandate on Youth and Crime Prevention, PCYC and the Youth and Crime Prevention Command will launch this co-ordinated approach and a continuing social media and community information campaign against cybercrime,” they said.
An hour-long forum will be held in each of the state’s 64 PCYC clubs between 7pm and 8pm next Tuesday evening and will cover sharing information online, cyber bullying, private content, online grooming, privacy settings, respectful relationships online, digital shadows and where to get help. Harmony Day EPIC will be celebrating Harmony Day on Wednesday 21st March. On this day, only the primary school children will be allowed to wear their cultural clothes to school. dunk1689@gmail.com This is a time when many of us remember the martyrdom of Malcolm X, El-Haj Malik El-Shabazz, on 21 February 1965. The evolution of his development towards Islam is itself a struggle worth investigating, for it occurred in response to his growing awareness of the nature of the oppression which Black Americans experienced, and how it might be resisted. The depth of white supremacist ideology in the United States has not been fully understood by those outside that unhappy nation. The attitudes of the Nation of Islam of Elijah Muhammad are understandable from the viewpoint of visceral reaction to evil oppression, but they were not in accord with the teachings of the Quran or the example of the Prophet (saw). Malcolm’s Letter from Mecca illustrates to what extent he had grown beyond the old separatism of the NOI, to mainstream Islam. It is a letter with which millions of Muslims are familiar.

There were tens of thousands of pilgrims, from all over the world. They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blonds to black-skinned Africans. America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem. Throughout my travels in the Muslim world, I have met, talked to, and even eaten with people who in America would have been considered ‘white’--but the ‘white’ attitude was removed

His growing understanding of the nature of oppression grew beyond that of the Black American community to a universal understanding. His extended journeys through Africa and the Middle East in that year of his Haj, opened his eyes to the fact that oppression had similar roots throughout the world. He also came to understand that anger was no basis for clarity of vision, echoing the message of Islam as conveyed by Muhammad [saw] 1400 years before. He understood that the struggle of the AfricanAmericans for civil rights

Lomax, who had covered Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam on several occasions, put Malcolm X’s assassination in context with Martin Luther King Jr.’s in “To Kill a Black Man” (1968). More than four decades ago, activist George Breitman was among the first to challenge the police version of who was responsible for Malcolm X’s death. establishment of COINTEL, to disrupt and destroy a wide range of protest groups, was part of this war. The Zinn Education Project March 2016 ran an article “Why We Should Teach About the FBI’s War on the Civil Rights Movement” which details the methods used. It has been hidden from most Americans. Muslims put faith into action on cost of power
Abdal-Nasser AbuMustafa On February 10 and 11, 70 Muslims from across Sydney joined together to raise their voices about the cost of electricity and how they should respond in light of the Islamic faith. The 90 minute process, called a “table talk” was organised by the Sydney Alliance and its Voices for Power campaign, and was led by the Alliance’s Muslim community
committee. After hearing a theological reflection from Imam Hassan Elsetohy, CEO of Muslim Aid Australia, and expert input from NGO Solar Citizens, Muslim participants shared their own experiences of rising energy prices and the difficulty of accessing renewable power. The Sydney Alliance is a coalition of 40 organisations representing community organisations, unions and faith groups in Sydney, working
together to advance the common good and achieve a fair, just and sustainable city. The Sydney Alliance is a non-party political organisation whose purpose is to strengthen civil society. Amongst its members are the National Zakat Foundation, the Muslim Women’s Association and the Australian National Imam Council. Beginning last year, the Voices for Power Campaign aims to support diverse religious and ethnic communities to take a lead role in the effort to tackle the high cost of electric bills in Sydney and to guarantee fair and equal access to
affordable renewable energy. At the table talk, stories emerged about the enormous pressure that the high cost of energy is putting on Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Participants shared stories about thousand dollar electricity bills and the difficulty for new migrants navigating a complex energy market. They also spoke of their hopes for renewable energy and their desire to look after the environment that Allah has made. Abdalnasser Abumustafa, Sydney Alliance Muslim Communities Organiser, said “For Muslims in

Attending funerals is something I kind of look forward to. It sounds morbid, I know, so let me explain why. First, seeing the remains of a person who was living and breathing hours before reminds me of my own mortality and makes me less cocky. Second, it drives in me a sense of urgency to accomplish more in the short time I have. Third, I become less in nice ways - less attached to stuff I own, less upset when things don’t work out which helps me to be calmer and a little more lighthearted; more accepting of life itself. At a recent funeral I attended, a man broke into tears while asking those present to pray for his deceased mother. It instantly brought me back to the moment when I was by my mother’s deathbed, as she slipped into the other world. Losing a parent, I learned, is very painful, even for a grown up. It’s extra painful if you’ve had a deep positive relationship with him or her. Independence, I learnt, does not take away the deep pain the loss of a parent brings. I was extremely close to my mother. That did not mean I agreed with everything she did and neither did she with mine. Far from it. In fact, there were certain requests she made which I wasn’t able to fulfill due to my own commitments. In the end, she accepted that as that. Because of practical reasons - my mother’s doctors were near my home and my siblings lived in different locations - for years I was usually the one who brought my mother for her medical appointments. I also took care of her in her last months, which until now, remains as some of my most cherished moments with her. What brought me to decide to care for my dying mother? I was privileged to have witnessed firsthand how a man showed respect to his mother. It was the holy month of Ramadan. The man refused to eat until he had personally fed his frail mother first. What a profound moment. It inspired me to care for my own mother years later. I never thought of it as a job. It was an honour to care for the person
who gave birth to me and raised me as well as she could. As I write this, I’m thinking of all of you who are now caring for your ailing parents or grandparents. From my experience, having the right attitude is the most important thing. Doing the best you can does not mean giving in to their every demand. You’re not a bottomless pit. At times, you just have to choose what you can or cannot do. Simply because you might be the only one willing to care for them and if you run out of energy, there might not be another person who could replace you. Equally important, manage your sensitivities. The elderly might utter words that are less than kind as they lose their sense of perspective and sensibilities over time. The secret is not to take it personally. In one ear and out the other. Just let it go. If you were to digest and process every single word said by a dying, temperamental parent or grandparent, it might upset you so much, you might not have the resources to carry on the next day. Caring for a terminally ill parent or grandparent might take a lot from you. Your patience is tested every single hour with pleas and requests that might at times seem illogical, but you still have to try to address them anyway, as they are real to the person you’re caring for. With the right attitude and sincerity, you just might surprise yourself with what you’re capable of. Your children will observe what you do and pass on the values they learn to the next generation. Remember: Good leaders are those inspired by a genuine concern for others, especially those who have cared for, nurtured and raised them; in particular, their parents.

تكرم المبتعث أحمد المحيميد السفارة السعودية في استراليا ّ �أقام القائم ب�أعمال �سفارة المملكة العربية ال�سعودية لدى �أ�ستراليا، الوزير المفو�ض م�شعل الروقي،بمقر ال�سفارة في كانبيرا حفلاً تكريم ًّيا للطالب المبتعث �أحمد بن عبداهلل المحيميد ،الذي قام ب�إنقاذ مواطن �أ�سترالي م�سن من الغرق في �أحد �أنهار مدينة ملبورن الأ�سترالية. و�أ�شاد القائم بالأعمال في كلمة �ألقاها خالل الحفل ب�شجاعة الطالب ال�سعودي المبتعث ،ومبادرته الإن�سانية ال�شجاعة.من جهته عبر الطالب المحيميد عن �شكره ؤكدا �أن ما قام به ُيعبر عن القيم والمبادئ للقائم بالأعمال على حفل التكريم ،م� ً التي تربى عليه ال�شباب ال�سعودي. كما �ألقيت خالل الحفل كلمتان لوكيل وزارة التعليم الأ�سترالية وعائلة المواطن الأ�سترالي الذي تم �إنقاذه ،عبروا فيها عن ال�شكر للمبادرة البطولية التي قام بها الطالب المحيميد وتقديرهم لقيم و�أخالق ومبادئ المجتمع وال�شباب ال�سعودي. وفي نهاية الحفل �سلم القائم بالأعمال والملحق الثقافي ب�أ�ستراليا ،الدكتور ه�شام خداوردي� ،شهادة تقدير للطالب المبتعث.

Al - Taqwa In reciprocating our visit last year to schools in China, a group of 9 delegates comprising of Principal, Vice Principal, Imam, Administrator and teachers from Shadian School
in Yunnan. They arrived in Melbourne on Friday, 5th February 2018. There were impressed with Mr Hallak and Al-Taqwa group of teachers visited them at the visit last year. We were in turn impressed at their students who memorised Quran in a short span of 2 years. We were amazed at the close network of the community
and the beautiful Grand Mosque in Shadian. They are amazed at the size of Al-Taqwa College and big number of student. The Principal said they come to Al-Taqwa College to learn more about us and also to learn from us about leadership and gain more knowledge. Their school was established 30 years ago just like Al-
Taqwa. Before 2015, they were part of Masjid and now the school is running independently under 3 different suburbs. They have three levels i.e. Middle and High school as well as University (Islamic culture). They hope to share and learn about education system from schools like us.

«مؤسسة المساعدة اإلسالمية» في استراليا تستضيف الشيخ أحمد المحمدي أستاذ الثقافة اإلسالمية بجامعة قطر ق��ام ف�ضيلة الدكتور ال�شيخ احمد المحمدي �أ�ستاذ الثقافة اال�سالمية بجامعة قطر و�أ�ستاذ �أ�صول الدعوة بالمعهد ال�شرعي بقطر بجولة دعوية في ا�ستراليا �شملت كل من مدينتي �سيدني وملبورن التقى خاللها بعدد من قيادات وفعاليات الجالية الإ�سالمية. ال�شيخ المحمدي قدم الى ا�ستراليا بناء على دعوة من «م�ؤ�س�سة الم�ساعدة الإ�سالمية» والتي نظمت له برنامج الزيارة في كل من �سيدني وملبورن، حيث زار عددا من الم�ساجد والمراكز اال�سالمية والقى عددا من الخطب والمحا�ضرات والدرو�س الدينية. وقد �شملت زيارته في �سيدني كل من مفتي عام ا�ستراليا الدكتور ابراهيم ابو محمد وف�ضيلة ال�شيخ �شادي ال�سليمان رئي�س مجل�س االئمة والجمعية اال�سالمية اللبنانية وجمعية قرانفيل �سيدني والأكاديمية اال�سالمية و�إذاعة ال�صوت اال�سالمي وم�سجد ال�سنة وم�سجد اوب��رن ،كما التقى ب�أع�ضاء من الجالية الجزائرية .اما في ملبورن فقد زار كل من م�سجد التقوى وم�سجد ال�صديق والمركز اال�سترالي اال�سالمي في نيوبورت ومركز رابطة �أهل ال�سنة والجماعة في ملبورن.

فضيحة تهز أستراليا.. تسريب أسرار الدولة من محل مفروشات مستعملة! �أطلقت الحكومة الأ�سترالية تحقيقا عاجال في ت�سريب �آالف الوثائق الر�سمية ال�سرية بعد العثور عليها من�سية في خزانتين قديمتين بمحل مفرو�شات م�ستعملة. و�أو�ضحت قناة ABC الأ�سترالية �أن الخزانتين اللتين ُعثر بداخلهما على نحو �ألفي وثيقة تم بيعهما في العا�صمة كانبرا مع خ�صم في ال�سعر لأنهما مغلقتان ومن دون مفتاح. ولم تو�ضح القناة الأ�سترالية ا�سم المواطن الذي عثر على الملفات ال�سرية ذات الأهمية الوطنية في الخزانتين بعد اقتنائهما ،لكن هذه الوثائق وقعت في نهاية المطاف ب�أيدي القناة. وذكرت القناة �أن هذه الملفات تحتوي غالبا على وثائق �سرية وح�سا�سة ،م�ؤكدة �أنها ال تعتزم ت�سريب بع�ض الملفات المتعلقة بم�سائل الأمن القومي. و�أ�ضافت القناة �أن بع�ض الوثائق تك�شف عن �أولويات اال�ستخبارات الأ�سترالية وخطط محاربة الإرهاب، وكذلك الملفات ال�شخ�صية للم�شتبه فيهم بالتطرف، وخطط تحديث ال�صواريخ وغيرها من الموا�ضيع الح�سا�سة للغاية. ولم تعلن القناة فورا على ح�صولها على هذه الوثائق، بل ا�ستخدمت بع�ضها في الأ�سابيع الأخيرة لت�سليط ال�ضوء على �سل�سلة ف�ضائح طالت م�س�ؤولين �سابقين وحاليين في البالد. وت�شير �إحدى الوثائق �إلى �أن هذا الت�سريب لي�س الأول من نوعه� ،إذ فقدت ال�شرطة الفدرالية الأ�سترالية نحو 400ملف مرتبط بمجال الأمن القومي خالل الفترة ما بين 2008و ،2013عالوة على 195ملفا �أخرى من�سية من قبل وزير المالية ال�سابق في مكتبه بعد �إقالة حكومته في عام .2013 الم�صدر :وكاالت

رئيس وزراء أستراليا يعلن عن حظر العالقات الغرامية بين الوزراء وموظفاتهم! حظر رئي�س ال��وزراء الأ�سترالي مالكوم ترنبول، ر�سميا العالقات الغرامية بين الوزراء وموظفاتهم ردا على العا�صفة التي �أثارتها عالقة �أقامها نائبه مع م�ساعدته ال�سابقة. و�أعلن ترنبول هذا التعديل الخا�ص بالمجل�س ال��وزاري خالل م�ؤتمر �صحفي ا�ستثنائي عقدة الخمي�س ووج��ه فيه انتقادات الذعة لنائبه بارنابي جوي�س ،بعد �إقامة الأخير عالقة خارج �إطار الزواج مع م�ساعدته ال�سابقة وهي حامل منه حاليا. وقال ترنبول بهذا ال�ش�أن“ :بارنابي ارتكب خط�أ في التقدير مثيرا لل�صدمة عبر �إقامته عالقة مع �شابة تعمل في مكتبه،

ت�������ف�������ادي ال���رس���ائ���ل اإلح��ت��ي��ال��ي��ة الرسائل العاطفية االحتيالية ت�ستهدف الر�سائل العاطفية ال�ضحايا عبر مواقع التوا�صل العاطفي االلكترونية الم�شروعة .وبمجرد �إبداء الرغبة يخرجون بجميع بيانات التوا�صل مع ال�ضحية �إلى بريد �إلكتروني �شخ�صي �أو مكالمات هاتفية �أو ر�سائل ن�صية هاتفية .ومع م��رور الوقت ،يبني المحتال عالقة �إلكترونية مع ال�ضحية، وي�صل لمدى بعيد يك�سب فيه ثقة ال�ضحية وي�ستعطفه. وفي النهاية ،ي�ؤلف المحتال ق�صة عن حاجته للمال ،وكثيرا ما تكون لها عالقة بحالة م َر�ضية �أو �إ�صابة حدثت لأحد �أفراد العائلة� ،أو حاجته لدفع مبلغ لال�ستثمار .وفي هذه المرحلة ،يكون ال�ضحية قد وقع في الفخ ويقوم بكل �سهولة ب�إر�سال مبلغ من المال ،حتى ولو حذروه �أفراد الأ�سرة �أو الأ�صدقاء من هذه الر�سائل االحتيالية .وبمجرد �إر�سال المبلغ �إلكترونياً �أو عن طريق حوالة ،من الم�ستحيل �إ�سترداده.
حماية نفسك – نقاط مهمة يجب أن تتذكرها عن الرسائل االحتيالية
• �إذا بدت الر�سالة ك�أنها �صحيحة ،فيحتمل �أن تكون كذلك • ُكن حذراً جداً مع ر�سائل البريد االلكتروني االقتحامية �أو المكالمات الهاتفية �أو الخطابات التي تخبرك ب�أن لك مبالغ ت�ستحقها لم تطالب بها �أو �أنه يحق لك ا�سترداد مبلغ من المال • ال تر�سل �أبداً مبلغا من المال �أو تعطي تفا�صيلك الم�صرفية لكي تطالب بجائزة �أو ا�سترداد • ت�أكد هل قمت بالم�شاركة فع ً ال في يان�صيب �أو �سحب على جائزة ،وتذكر �أن �سحوبات اليان�صيب ال�صادقة ال ُيطلب منك فيها دفع ر�سم لكي ت�ستلم ما ربحته �أو جائزتك • ال تدفع �أي �شيء عن طريق حوالة مالية بريدية �أو حوالة ال�سلكية – ا�ستخدم دائماً طريقة �أكثر �أماناً كالبطاقة االئتمانية �أو نظام الدفع PayPal • احتر�س من المواقع االلكترونية المزيفة التي ت�ستخدم �شعارات تبدو ك�أنها �أ�صلية من م�صارف معروفة �أو منظمات �أخرى – و�إذا لم تكن مت�أكدا ،ات�صل بالبنك �أو المنظمة مبا�شرة للت�أكد • ال ت�ستخدم رواب��ط في ر�سائل بريد �إلكتروني لالت�صال ب�شركات .دائ�م�اً �أح�صل على بيانات االت�صال عن طريق محركات البحث �أو دليل الهاتف �أو من �أي م�صدر �آخر م�ستقل • ال تر�سل �أي مبلغ من المال �إلى �شخ�ص لم تقابله �شخ�صياً ،حتى ولو تحدثت معه �أو تلقيت هدايا منه ٍ �شخ�ص ما التقيته عبر االنترنت • ا�ستمع �إلى عائلتك �أو �أ�صدقائك �إذا كانوا قلقين من • احتر�س �إذا اختلفت �صور بروفايل التوا�صل العاطفي عبر االنترنت عن الأو�صاف �أو ال�شكل عندما ح�صلت عليها من مجلة.
إتخاذ إجراء حيال الرسائل االحتيالية �إذا اعتقدت �أنك وقعت �ضحية ر�سالة احتيالية ،ات�صل فوراً لالبالغ عنها .وح�سب و�ضعك ،قد ت�ستطيع ا�سترداد مبلغك عن طريق مقدم بطاقتك االئتمانية �أو م�صرفك. و�إذا لم ت�ستطع ا�سترداد مبلغك ،فيظل من بالغ الأهمية �أن تبلغ عن الواقعة ،حيث �أن المعلومات قد ت�ساعدنا على وقف تع ّر�ض �أ�شخا�ص �آخرين للر�سائل االحتيالية.

SBS �أع �ل �ن��ت ال�شرطة ال� �ف ��درال� �ي ��ة ع��ن ا�ستراتيجية ج��دي��دة لمكافحة االدم��ان على المخدرات والحد م��ن زي���ادة ال�ط�ل��ب عليها على الأرا�ضي الأ�سترالية .وتت�ضمن ه� ��ذه اال� �س �ت��رات �ي �ج �ي��ة اج� ��راء ح��وار مفتوح مع �أبناء المجتمع الأ���س��ت��رال��ي لإي� �ج ��اد ال �ح �ل��ول المنا�سبة. وج� ��اء ه� ��ذا االع��ل��ان ب �ع��د ان اعتقلت ال�شرطة الفدرالية ثالثة رج ��ال متهمين بتهريب �أكثر م��ن 300كيلوغرام م��ن مخدر الأي�س الى والية جنوب �أ�ستراليا. وت�صل قيمة هذه المخدرات الى حوالي 270 $مليون. وتحدث م�ساعد مفو�ض ال�شرطة الفدرالية المخت�صة في مكافحة ال� �ج ��رائ ��م ال �م �ن �ظ �م��ة Neil Gaughanعن هذه العملية وق ��ال �إن اي �ق��اف ه��ذه العملية ه��و دل�ي��ل على ال�ت�ع��اون الكبير بين وك��االت الأم��ن الأ�سترالية وال��دول��ي��ة ،ف �ق��د �أ�� �ش ��رف على هذه العملية ال�شرطة الفدرالية ب��ال �ت �ع��اون م ��ع دائ�� ��رة ح�م��اي��ة الحدود الأ�سترالية ووزارة االمن الداخلي ووك��ال��ة اال�ستخبارات الأ�سترالية ومكتب ال�ضرائب وال�شرطة المحلية. و�أك��دت ال�شرطة الفدرالية �أنها �ست�ستمر بالتحقيقات لمعرفة م�صدر ه��ذه ال�م�خ��درات ،التي تعتقد �أنه تم ار�سالها من جنوب �شرق �آ�سيا .وبناء على ت�صريح ال�شرطة ،تعتبر عملية التهريب الأخيرة من اكبر العمليات التي تمكنت ال���ش��رط��ة م��ن ايقافها م�ؤخر ًا. وع ّبرت ال�شرطة عن قلقها من ع �م �ل �ي��ات ت �ه��ري��ب ال �م �خ��درات الآخ ��ذة ب��االرت�ف��اع ،ففي نهاية ع��ام ،2017تمكنت ال�شرطة من م�صادرة كميات هائلة من الكوكايين والميثافيتامين على ال���س��اح��ل ال���ش��رق��ي لأ��س�ت��رال�ي��ا و�صلت ال��ى ح��وال��ي ط��ن و200 كيلوغرام .وف��ي ملبورن �أي�ضا، ت �م��ت م�����ص��ادرة ح ��وال ��ي 900 كيلوغرام من المخدرات العام الما�ضي. ه ��ذه ال�ك�م�ي��ات ال�ه��ائ�ل��ة دفعت ال�شرطة للت�سا�ؤل عن الأ�سباب التي �أدت الى زيادة الطلب ب�شكل كبير عليها .والمقلق �أكثر هو ان تحليال لمياه ال�صرف في كبرى المدن الأ�سترالية �أ�شار الى ان �أدياليد تحتوي على �أكبر عدد من المدمنين على المخدرات في �أ�ستراليا ،و�أطلق عليها ا�سم “عا�صمة الأي�س”. وق��ال المتحدث با�سم ال�شرطة الفدرالية �إنه ال بد من ا�ضعاف ال �ط �ل��ب ع �ل��ى ال� �م� �خ ��درات في �أ�ستراليا والطريقة الأف�ضل هي عبر اج��راء ح��وار م��ع المجتمع الأ� �س �ت��رال��ي لمعرفة الأ��س�ب��اب والتو�صل للحلول.
ضواحي جنوب غرب سيدني األكثر إدمان ًا على القمار تحتل المرتبة األولى! ّ و Fairfield ب ّين تقرير خا�ص �أجرته قناة SBSالتلفزيونية �أن �ضاحية Fairfieldالواقعة في جنوب غرب �سيدني والتي هي مركز لتج ّمع عدد كبير من المهاجرين هي الأكثر �إدمان ًا على القمار حيث بلغت قيمة الأموال التي �أنفقت على مكنات المقامرة في المنطقة التابعة لبلدية Fairfieldثمان مليارات و 400مليون دوالر العام الما�ضي، محققة الن�سبة الأع�ل��ى في والي��ة NSWمع بلوغ قيمة الأرب��اح ال�صافية لكل �آلة قمار .280,732 $ و�أظهر التقرير �أن الماليين التي تجنيها نوادي القمار يتم �صرف جزء منها على التبرعات لأبناء الجاليات المحل ّية غير �أن الق�سم الأكبر يتم �صرفه على المعا�شات ال�ضخمة للمدراء وكبار الموظفين في ه��ذه الأن��دي��ة� ،إ�ضافة �إل��ى النفقات على رح�لات ه ��ؤالء �إلى الخارج. فعلى �سبيل المثال بلغت الأرباح ال�سنوية ال�صافية لنادي RSL Memorial Clubفي فيرفيلد في �آب 40 ،2014مليون
المخ�ص�صة دوالر تم �صرف 793,336 $منها على التبرعات ّ للأعمال الخير ّية .بينما بلغ الأجر ال�سنوي لأكبر موظفي النادي في العام نف�سه �أكثر من � 790ألف دوالر. هذه الأرق��ام تدق ناقو�س الخطر حول التهديد الذي ت�شكّله هذه الظاهرة على المهاجرين الجدد الذين يتمركزون ب�شكل كبير في ال�ضواحي الغرب ّية ل�سيدني حيث ن�سبة الإدم��ان على القمار هي �ألأاع�ل��ى في ال��والي��ة .ففي وقت احتلّت المناطق الواقعة في �إطار بلدية فيرفيلد المرتبة الأولى بالإدمان على مكنات القمار، تظهر الأرقام ال�صادرة عن مكتب الإح�صاءات الأ�سترالي �أن هذه المنطقة هي �أي�ض ًا الأكثر حرمان ًا في والية NSWبحيث يالم�س مع ّدل البطالة �ضعف المع ّدل الوطني .كما �أن �أكثر من ن�صف �سكان هذه المنطقة هم مولودون خارج �أ�ستراليا ،و�أكثر من %70منهم يتكلمون لغة غير اللغة الإنجليزية في المنزل. الم�صدرSBS :
