‫م� �ن ��ع ن ��ا�� ش� �ط ��ون م��ن‬ ‫المجتمع ال�م��دن��ي وم��داف �ع��ون عن‬ ‫ح�ق��وق الإن��س��ان ف��ي �أ�ستراليا يوم‬ ‫ال�سبت الما�ضي �إق��ام��ة مظاهرة‬ ‫مناه�ضة للإ�سالم والمهاجرين في‬ ‫مدينة ملبورن قبالة مبنى برلمان‬ ‫والية فكتوريا‪.‬‬ ‫حيث �أغ�ل��ق �آالف م��ن م��ؤي��دي هذه‬ ‫المنظمات ال �ط��رق �أم��ام �أن��ص��ار‬ ‫م �ن �ظ �م��ة «ا��س��ت��ع��ادة �أ� �س �ت��رال �ي��ا»‬ ‫العن�صرية وال��ذي��ن تجمعوا �أم��ام‬

‫برلمان فيكتوريا في ملبورن‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫ل��م ي �ت �ج��اوز ع��دده��م ال �ع �� ش��رات‪،‬‬ ‫وق��د ف�شلوا ف��ي موا�صلة الم�سيرة‬ ‫وا�ضطروا للبقاء في مكانهم‪.‬‬ ‫واتهم ع�ضو «مجموعة الحملة �ضد‬ ‫الفا�شية والعن�صرية» غيروم �سمول‬ ‫المتظاهرين �أم��ام البرلمان ب�أنهم‬ ‫«يعملون على ت�شجيع العن�صرية»‪،‬‬ ‫مو�ضحا �أنهم يريدون ت�شكيل حركة‬ ‫فا�شية عن�صرية في �شوراع ملبورن‪،‬‬ ‫و�أ�ضاف «نحن هنا لنقول �إن ذلك لن‬ ‫يكون»‪.‬‬ ‫ب��دوره��ا ق��ال��ت ال �ن��اط �ق��ة ب��ا��س��م‬

‫«م�ج�م��وع��ة الحملة ��ض��د الفا�شية‬ ‫وال�ع�ن��ص��ري��ة» دي�ب��ي ب��ري�ن��ان �إن�ه��م‬ ‫نظموا مظاهرة مناوئة للمظاهرة‬ ‫المعادية للإ�سالم بهدف مجابهة‬ ‫مخاطر الفا�شية والعن�صرية‪.‬‬ ‫و�أ��ض��اف��ت �أن م�ج�م��وع�ت�ه��ا ق��ام��ت‬ ‫ب �م��واج �ه��ة «ا� �س �ت �ع��ادة �أ� �س �ت��رال �ي��ا»‬ ‫لأن �ه��ا ت��ري��د م�ن��ع «ال�ف��ا��ش�ي�ي��ن» من‬ ‫بث �سمومهم و�أفكارهم الخطيرة‪،‬‬ ‫م�ؤكدة �ضرورة التدخل المبكر حتى‬ ‫ال ي�ستفحل الأمر‪.‬‬ ‫من جهتها قالت رئي�سة حزب الخ�ضر‬ ‫بالإنابة في المجل�س الت�شريعي في‬

‫قلم بحبر طائفي!‬ ‫ ان تندد الإعالمية اللبنانية مي �شدياق بجريمة‬‫القتل المروعة التي ح�صلت في الجميزة فهذا امر‬ ‫طبيعي اما ان تحول الق�ضية الى ق�ضية طائفية فهذا‬ ‫امر غير طبيعي‪.‬‬ ‫ان تعبرعن ر�أيها وعن م�شاعرها فهذا امر طبيعي اما ان تعبر‬‫ب�أ�سلوب طائفي فهذا امر غير طبيعي‪.‬‬ ‫ ان تنتقد المجرم فهذا امر طبيعي �أما ان تلمح الى دينه فهذا‬‫امر غير طبيعي خا�صة انها تحدثت ب�شكل ع�شوائي وبدون دليل‬ ‫‪،‬حيث تبين بح�سب المعلومات ان القاتل والمقتول من �أبناء دين‬ ‫واحد!‪.‬‬ ‫ ان ترفع �شعار الدولة المدنية فهذا امر طبيعي اما ان تطبق‬‫�شعار االنعزال والطائفية والتقوقع فهذا �أمر غير طبيعي‪.‬‬ ‫ ان تحدثنا عن العي�ش الم�شترك فهذا امر طبيعي �أما ان تتحدث‬‫بمنطق الدويالت والمناطق والطوائف فهذا امر غير طبيعي‪.‬‬

‫فيكتوريا نينا �سبرينغل �إن جماعة‬ ‫«ا�ستعادة �أ�ستراليا» مجموعة �صغيرة‬ ‫ت��س�ع��ى لإ� �ش �ع��ال ال�ع�ن��ص��ري��ة �ضد‬ ‫الم�سلمين‪.‬‬ ‫�أم��ا جيم�س ميرلينو ‪-‬نائب رئي�س‬ ‫وزراء فيكتوريا‪ -‬فتوعد ب�أن ال�شرطة‬ ‫لن تت�سامح مع االحتجاجات العنيفة‪،‬‬ ‫م�شددا على «ع��دم وج��ود مكان في‬ ‫فيكتوريا لمن ين�شر الكراهية �أو‬ ‫التع�صب»‪.‬‬ ‫اما النا�شط مازن عادل فقد اعتبر‬ ‫«ان ما ح��دث هو انت�صار لملبورن‬ ‫ع �ل��ى ال �ع �ن �� ص��ري��ة ب �ف �� ض��ل ج �ه��ود‬

‫الن�شطاء في المجتمع المدني الذين‬ ‫ات��وا للدفاع ع��ن الم�سلمين»‪ ،‬كما‬ ‫ح��ث م��ازن ع��ادل «الم�سلمين على‬ ‫�ضرورة معرفة خطر هذه المنظمات‬ ‫العن�صرية ال�ت��ي ت�ه��دد علنا بقتل‬ ‫االئمة واغالق الم�ساجد والمدار�س‬ ‫ويحر�ضون على الكراهية والعنف»‬ ‫وقال «انه كان يتمنى ان يرى م�شاركة‬ ‫او�سع للم�سلمين في المظاهرة»‪.‬‬ ‫وا� �ض��اف ع ��ادل «رغ ��م ذل��ك اال ان‬ ‫حوالي ‪� 100‬شخ�ص من الم�سلمين‬ ‫ح�ضروا حيث قاموا بتوزيع ال��ورود‬ ‫وال�ح�ل��وي��ات على ال �م��ارة بمنا�سبة‬

‫العيد وللتعريف بر�سالة اال�سالم‬ ‫العظيمة»‪.‬‬ ‫ورغ��م ان�ت��ش��ار ن�ح��و ‪ 400‬عن�صر‬ ‫�شرطة بين المجموعتين‪ ،‬ف�إن ذلك‬ ‫لم يمنع حدوث �شجار بين الجانبين‪،‬‬ ‫ولج�أت ال�شرطة �إلى ا�ستخدام الغاز‬ ‫المدمع لتفريق المت�شاجرين‪.‬‬ ‫وبعد حوالي �أرب��ع �ساعات من الجو‬ ‫الم�شحون بالتوتر بين الطرفين‬ ‫تفرق �أن�صار المنظمة‪ ،‬فيما �أقامت‬ ‫المنظمات المدنية والمدافعون عن‬ ‫حقوق الإن��س��ان م�سيرة �إل��ى و�سط‬ ‫المدينة‪.‬‬

‫وماذا عن الجوالن‬ ‫المقدس يا حسن نصر اهلل؟‬ ‫ بكل و�ضوح يعلن ح�سن ن�صر اهلل ان‬‫طريق القد�س يمر بالقلمون والزبداني‬ ‫وال�سويداء والح�سكة‪.‬‬ ‫ بكل و�ضوح ير�سم ح�سن ن�صر اهلل طريقه‬‫المزعومة بعيدا عن الجوالن المحتل خوفا من‬ ‫مطبات ال�صهاينة‪.‬‬ ‫ بكل و�ضوح ي�ساوي ح�سن ن�صر اهلل بين الطفل‬‫ال�سوري في الزبداني وبين المحتل ال�صهيوني‪.‬‬ ‫ ح�سن ن�صر اهلل الذي يتهم المعار�ضة ال�سورية‬‫بالعمالة للم�شروع االمريكي ال�صهيوني ير�سل‬ ‫ملي�شياته لمحاربة هذا الم�شروع في كل محافظة‬ ‫ومدينة �سورية متجاهال ان محاربة هذا الم�شروع‬ ‫تمر من الجوالن ولي�س من الق�صير او القلمون‪.‬‬

‫المنهج اإلسالمي‬ ‫ومسألة الواقعية‬ ‫ت�أ ّم ُلت بع�ض �أدبيات‬ ‫وخ�ط��اب��ات المذاهب‬ ‫والمنازع والفل�سفات‬ ‫ال��و� �ض �ع �ي��ة ف ��أل �ف �ي � ُت �ه��ا ت�ت�ب��اه��ى‬ ‫بالواقعية‪ ،‬وتزعم االتّ�صاف بها في‬ ‫�شتّى مناهجها و�أفكارها وم�سالكها‬ ‫التطبيقية ف��ي ال�ح�ي��اة‪ ،‬ف��أدرك��ت‬ ‫مدى حدود و دالالت هذه الخا�ص ّية‪،‬‬ ‫وما يمكن �أن تعود به من مردود‬ ‫�إي �ج��اب��ي ع�ل��ى َم ��ن ي� ّت��ص��ف بها‬ ‫د‪.‬ابراهيم نويري‬ ‫ويحر�ص على مراعاتها في واقعه‬ ‫باحث أكاديمي من الجزائر‬ ‫العملي‪ ،‬والترويج لها على م�ستوى‬ ‫الخطابات والأدب�ي��ات الفكرية و‬ ‫التنظيرية والإعالمية ونحوها‪.‬‬ ‫�أما في الر�ؤية الإ�سالمية ف�إن م�صطلح الواقعية يعني االنطالق‬ ‫والتماهي مع �أ�شواق الفطرة ال�صحيحة واالهتداء ب�شرع اهلل تعالى‬ ‫و�أحكامه الثابتة ال ُمحكمة ال��واردة في القر�آن المجيد وال�سنّة‬ ‫المط ّهرة؛ ومن ث ّمة فلي�س المق�صود بالواقعية في فكر ّية المنهج‬ ‫الإ�سالمي م�سايرة الواقع �أو الخ�ضوع له كما هو في حقيقة حاله‬ ‫المعي�ش �أو القائم‪ ،‬حتى لو كان واقع ًا زائغ ًا منحرف ًا‪� ،‬أو بعيد ًا عن‬ ‫حدود االن�ضباط بمنهج اهلل تعالى ومقا�صد ال�شرع الحنيف‪.‬‬ ‫وال ّ‬ ‫�شك �أن من �أه��م ثوابت ر�سالة الفكر الإ�سالمي المعا�صر‬ ‫الإ�سهام الب�صير في تقريب الواقع بك ّل تف�صيالته من رحاب الفطرة‬ ‫ال�صحيحة‪ ،‬و�إخ�ضاعه لمعايير الإ�سالم وهداياته وثوابته ومقا�صده‬ ‫العامة‪ ،‬وذل��ك من منطلق قاعدة” �س ّددوا وقاربوا”‪� ..‬أم��ا مقدار‬ ‫تحقيق النجاح على هذا ال�صعيد فهو مرهو ٌن بمدى تم ّكن القائمين‬ ‫على �ش�ؤون الفكر الإ�سالمي من مهارات المعاملة مع مك ّونات الواقع‪.‬‬ ‫ال �سيما �إذا و�ضعنا في الح�ساب �أن الإ��س�لام منح الكلمة ومنح‬ ‫ال�سلوك ت�أثير ًا عجيب ًا في النفو�س‪ ،‬من خالل تم ّيز طرق الموعظة‬ ‫الح�سنة والأم��ر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر‪ .‬وهذه الأدوات هي‬ ‫الأ�صل في معالجة الواقع و تقريبه من الفطرة ال�صحيحة‪.‬‬ ‫�أما من الناحية العملية للواقعية في المنهج الإ�سالمي ف�إننا نجد �أن‬ ‫ال�ضرر‬ ‫�شريعتنا ال�سمحة قد‬ ‫خا�صة برفع ّ‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫و�ضعت مجموع َة مبادئ ّ‬ ‫و�أخ��رى خا�صة برفع الحرج‪ .‬وقد تف ّرعت عن ك ّل مبد�أ جمل ٌة من‬ ‫ال�ضرر” �أن ال�ضرر ُيزال‬ ‫الفروع ؛ ومن �أ�شهر مبادئ �أو قواعد رفع ّ‬ ‫�شرع ًا” ومما تف ّرع عن هذا المبد�أ‪ :‬وج��وب الوقاية والتداوي من‬ ‫الأ�سقام المختلفة وقتل ال�ضار من الهوام والحيوانات‪ .‬وكذلك نجد‬ ‫ال�ضررين التقاء �أ�ش ّدهما ”‬ ‫من قواعد هذا المبد�أ” ُيرتكب � ّ‬ ‫أخف ّ‬ ‫ومما تف ّرع عن هذا المبد�أ‪� :‬أن ي�صلي المكلف في حال العجز عن‬ ‫تي�سر له من قدرة‪،‬‬ ‫التط ّهر �أو �ستر العورة �أو ا�ستقبال القبلة‪ ،‬وفق ما ّ‬ ‫أخف من ترك ال�صالة‪.‬‬ ‫لأن ترك هذه ال�شروط � ّ‬ ‫ومن �أ�شهر مبادئ رفع الحرج قاعدة «الم�شقّة تجلب التي�سير» ومما‬ ‫تف ّرع عن هذا المبد�أ‪ :‬الرخ�ص المق ّررة في العبادات كالفطر في‬ ‫رم�ضان للمري�ض والم�سافر والحامل والنف�ساء والعاجز‪ ،‬وكق�صر‬ ‫ال�صالة بالن�سبة للم�سافر‪� ..‬إلخ‪.‬‬ ‫�أي�ضا يمثل التفكير الحر مظهر ًا من �أج � ّل مظاهر الواقعية في‬ ‫الإ�سالم‪ ،‬وذلك لأنه �أ�سا�س المعتقد‪ ،‬وال ي�صح في االعتقاد القهر‬ ‫والتغ ّلب والإك ��راه‪ ،‬لذلك جاء الخطاب في هذه الم�س�ألة وا�ضح ًا‬ ‫الدينِ‬ ‫حا�سم ًا ال يقبل الت�أويل‪ ،‬كما في قوله تعالى‪َ }:‬ال �إِ ْك � َرا َه ِفي ِّ‬ ‫قَد َّت َب َّي َن ال ُّر�شْ ُد ِم َن ا ْلغ َِّي َف َم ْن َي ْك ُف ْر ب َّ‬ ‫ِالطاغُ ِ‬ ‫وت َو ُي�ؤ ِْمن بِاللهّ ِ َفق َِد‬ ‫ا�س َت ْم َ�س َك بِا ْل ُع ْر َو ِة ا ْل ُو ْثق ََى َال ان ِف َ�ص َام َل َها َواللهّ ُ َ�س ِمي ٌع َع ِلي ٌم{‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫البقرة‪.256/‬‬ ‫ق� � � � � � ��د‬ ‫�أج��ل � ّإن ه��ذا الخطاب الوا�ضح الب ّين‬ ‫�إل��ى‬ ‫�أو�صد الأبواب �أمام � ّأي م�سلك قد ي�سوق‬ ‫ا�ستخدام الإره��اب والقهر م��ن �أج��ل‬ ‫حمل امرئ ما على االعتقاد بما ال‬ ‫ي�ستقيم عنده من خالل موازينه‬ ‫العقلية وتركيبته الوجدانية و‬ ‫التربوية‪.‬‬ ‫وما هذه الأمثلة التي �أوردناها‬ ‫�إ ّال نماذج ي�سيرة عن ال ُمنجز‬ ‫الإ�سالمي في م�س�ألة الواقعية‬ ‫التي تتغنى بها معظم الفل�سفات‬ ‫والمنازع الأر�ضية؛ وهي �أمثلة‬ ‫كافية في التدليل على �أ�صالة‬ ‫ت�ج�ذّر قيمة” الواقعية” في‬ ‫المنهج الإ�سالمي وف��ق ثوابت‬ ‫وك� �ل� � ّي ��ات وم �ق��ا� �ص��د ال �� ش��رع‬ ‫الحنيف‪.‬‬ ‫ولي التوفيق‪.‬‬ ‫واهلل ّ‬ ‫ال �م �� ص��در‪ :‬م �ج �ل��ة ال��وع��ي‬ ‫الإ�� س�ل�ام ��ي ـ� �ـ ع� ��دد م��اي��و‬ ‫‪ 2015‬م‬

‫الصوم وإرادة التغيير‬ ‫يتميز الإن�سان عن غيره من الكائنات بالعقل والإرادة الحرة‪،‬‬ ‫فهو بالعقل يدرك واقعه ومكانته‪.‬‬ ‫وبقدر ما يتوفر له من معلومات وم�ع��ارف �صحيحة بقدر‬ ‫و�صوله �إلى �إدراك ذلك الواقع ب�شكل �صحيح‪.‬‬ ‫والحكم ب�صحة هذه المعلومات �أو خطئها يتوقف على �أمرين اثنين‪:‬‬ ‫الأول‪ :‬م�صدرها ومدى م�صداقيته من ناحية‪.‬‬ ‫والثانى‪ :‬مدى مطابقتها للواقع من ناحية �أخرى‪ ،‬ومن ثم فالعقل هو و�سيلة‬ ‫الإن�سان في ر�ؤية واقعه على حقيقته بعيدا عن الخداع والوهم‪.‬‬ ‫ودور العقل هنا هو �إدراك الواقع وت�شخي�ص وتحديد احتياجات هذا‬ ‫الواقع‪.‬‬ ‫�أما الإرادة فهي التى توفر له القدرة على تغيير هذا الواقع �أو ت�صحيحه‬ ‫وتر�شيده �إن كان خط�أ ومن ثم فهو بهذه الإرادة يرتفع بتلك المكانة �أو‬ ‫يهبط بها‪.‬‬ ‫وطبيعة الإن�سان بما ركب فيه من ملكات وقدرات مادية ومعنوية �أنه يعلو‬ ‫تارة ويهبط �أخرى‪،‬‬ ‫فهو على م�ستوى الفكر يعلو بالإيمان واليقين‪ ،‬ويهبط بال�شكوك والأوهام‬ ‫وعلى م�ستوى الممار�سة والتجربة يعلو بالطاعة ويهبط بالمع�صية‪،‬‬ ‫هذا الحراك النف�سى والج�سدى المتموج بين �إيجاب و�سلب‪ ،‬ووعي وغيبوبة‬ ‫يحتاج بالطبع �إلى عناية خا�صة تحافظ للإن�سان على �إن�سانيته وت�ستبقيه‬ ‫رغم الذلل وال�سقوط �أحيانا في دائرة العناية المركزة التى ترفع كفاءة‬ ‫جهاز المناعة فيه حتى ال ي�ستمر في التدنى وال�سقوط‪.‬‬ ‫• ومن المعروف �أن النف�س الب�شرية ُم َرك ٌّب غاية في التعقيد‪ ،‬وهي‬ ‫م�ستودع م��ن الأ� �س��رار ال��ذى ال نهاية ل��ه‪ ،‬وم��ن ث��م فقد و�ضعها البيان‬ ‫القر�آني مقابل الأر�ض مرة بم�ساحتها وبطولها وعر�ضها وما ا�ستودع فيها‬ ‫من �أ�سرار‪ ،‬ومقابل الآفاق التى ال نهاية لها‬ ‫• قال تعالى‪} :‬وفي الأر�ض �آيات للموقنين وفي �أنف�سكم �أفال تب�صرون{‬ ‫الذاريات ‪٢٠‬ـ‪٢١‬‬ ‫• وقوله تعالى‪�} :‬سنريهم �آياتنا في الآفاق وفى �أنف�سهم حتى يتبين لهم‬ ‫�أنه الحق �أو لم يكف بريك �أنه على كل �شئ �شهيد{ ف�صلت (‪)٥٣‬‬ ‫• وو�ضع النف�س الب�شرية مقابل الآفاق في البيان القر�آني يدفع المرء‬ ‫�إلى �إع��ادة النظر والت�أمل من جديد في الكيان الإن�ساني‪ ،‬فهذا الكيان‬ ‫له اعتبار �آخر غير ما �صورته به ثقافة المادة في ح�ضارة الغرب‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫ا�ضطربت ر�ؤيتها حول الإن�سان‪ ،‬ونظرت فقط �إلى الجانب الح�سى في‬ ‫النف�س ال�شرية‪ ،‬بينما �أغفلت كل‬ ‫جوانب الغيب فيها‪،‬‬ ‫وثمة خط�أ �آخر وقعت فيه ر�ؤية الثقافة الغربية بفل�سفتها المادية حين‬ ‫فرقت بين �إن�سان الفل�سفة وعلم النف�س وعلم الإجتماع‪ ،‬وبين �إن�سان‬ ‫القانون والديموقراطية‪،‬‬ ‫فالأول مجرد مادة‪� ،‬أو حفنة من تراب الأر�ض ال وزن لها وال قيمة‪ ،‬بينما‬ ‫الثانى تمركزت حوله كل الحقوق وا�ستجابت الديموقراطية والقانون حتى‬ ‫ورغباته و�شهواته و�شذوذه ون�شازه ‪.‬‬ ‫ل � �� ش � �ط � �ح� ��ات� ��ه‬ ‫الإ��س�لام�ي��ة ك��ان��ت �أو� �س��ع م��دى و�أع �ل��ى �أفقا‬ ‫• ال��ر�ؤي��ة‬ ‫وت �� ص��ورا و�أه� ��دى ��س�ب�ي�لا‪ ،‬ل�ي��س ف�ق��ط في‬ ‫التعامل مع الإن�سان‪ ،‬و�إنما في تحليل دوافعه‬ ‫وبواعثه ومعرفة مواطن القوة وال�ضعف فيه‪،‬‬ ‫ومركز ال�صعود والهبوط‪ ،‬وال�سمو والتدنى‪،‬‬ ‫ومتى وكيف ي�سمو ويعلو فوق الحياة في�شبه‬ ‫المالئكة‪ ،‬ومتى وكيف يهبط ويغو�ص‬ ‫في الطين ويخلد �إلى الأر�ض حين يتبع هواه‪.‬‬ ‫فهو من ناحية المحتوى المادى والمعنوي ي�شكل بتكوينه‬ ‫ومحتواه الب�صمة الإلهية التى ت�شهد وت�شير ب�ألف دليل على‬ ‫�أنه خُ ِلقَ وفق �إرادة عليا‪.‬‬ ‫• وقد روى عن �أمير الم�ؤمنين علي كرم اهلل وجهه ور�ضى اهلل‬ ‫عنه �أن “ال�صورة الإن�سانية هي �أكبر حجج‬ ‫اهلل على خلقه‪ ،‬وهي الكتاب ال��ذي كتبه بيده‪ ،‬وهي الهيكل ال��ذي بناه‬ ‫بحكمته‪ ،‬وهي مجموع �صور العالمين‪ ،‬وهي ال�شاهدة على‬ ‫ك��ل غ��ائ��ب‪ ،‬وه��ي الحجة على ك��ل ج��اح��د‪ ،‬وه��ي الطريق‬ ‫الم�ستقيم �إلى كل خير‪ ،‬وهي الج�سر الممدود بين الجنة‬ ‫والنار”(عيون م�سائل النف�س‪� :‬ص ‪ ،37‬ح�سن ح�سن‬ ‫زاده)‬ ‫وقد ن�سبت �إليه �أبيات من ال�شعر قال فيها �أي�ضا‪:‬‬ ‫دوا�ؤك فـيك وم��ا ت�شـعر * ودا�ؤك مـنك وما‬ ‫تبـ�صــر‬ ‫و�أنت الكتاب المبيـن الذى * ب�أحرفـه يظهـر‬ ‫الم�ضمـر‬ ‫وتزعــم �أنـك جـرم �صـغيـر * وفيك انطـوى‬ ‫العالم الأكبر‬ ‫• �إذً ا فالإن�سان في الر�ؤية الإ�سالمية‬ ‫ك� ��ون ك �ب �ي��ر وا�� س ��ع الآف � � ��اق‪ ،‬لكنه‬ ‫ي�ضطرب وي�ت��ص��ادم �إذا �أهملت‬ ‫ط��ري�ق��ة ت�شغيله �أو ف��رط ه��و �أو‬ ‫غ �ي��ره ف ��ي ال �ق��وان �ي��ن ال�ح��اك�م��ة‬ ‫والمنظمة لعملية �صيانته ولم تراع‬ ‫فيه الفطرة التى ت�شكل �أح��د المحاور‬ ‫الهامة في تكوينه النف�سي والروحي‪ ،‬حينئذ‬ ‫ي�ضل وي�ضيع‪ ،‬وتتحول �آف��اق��ه م��ن م��دى غير‬ ‫محدود وميدان ف�سيح لممار�سة الحرية والإرادة‬

‫ال�ب��ش��ري��ة ف��ي ن�ف��ع الإن �� س��ان‬ ‫وت��رق �ي��ة ال �ح �ي��اة �إل ��ى مجرد‬ ‫تر�س في �آلة يغيب فيها ال�شعور‬ ‫والح�س‪ ،‬وتهمل فيها �إ�شراقات‬ ‫الروح‪،‬ويذهب جمال الفطرة‬ ‫ونقائه وي�سيطر ال�ضياع على‬ ‫فكره ور�ؤاه وت�صوراته كلها‪،‬‬ ‫وم��ن ث��م يتحول �إل��ى م�صدر‬ ‫للعطب وعن�صر �إف�ساد �إن لم‬ ‫يكن في الكون كله فعلى الأقل‬ ‫د‪ .‬إبراهيم أبو محمد‬ ‫ف��ي البيئة ال�ت��ى يعي�ش فيها‬ ‫مفتي عام استراليا‬ ‫وي�ؤثر في م�ساحتها‪.‬‬ ‫• وه ��ذه ال�ح��ال��ة عبر عنها‬ ‫ف�ي�ل��س��وف الإ�� س�ل�ام الكبير‬ ‫ال�شاعر محمد �إق �ب��ال حين‬ ‫قال‪:‬‬ ‫�إنما الكافر حيران له الآفاق‬ ‫تيه… و�أرى الم�ؤمن كونا تاهت الأكوان فيه‬ ‫• ولكى يبقى الإن�سان �أمنا في �سربه‪،‬مطمئنا في فكره وخواطره‪ ،‬م�شرق‬ ‫النف�س �أالق الجبين يحتاج �إلى نوع من العناية المركزة ت�شمل ظاهره‬ ‫وباطنه و�سره وعالنيته ومادته وروحه‪ ،‬ولم يكن لهذا الدور �إال العبادات‬ ‫المفرو�ضة بتنوعها وتوزيعها على الأوق��ات المختلفة‪ ،‬فهي الو�سيلة التى‬ ‫ت�ستنقذ الإن�سان من براثن ال�شيطان و�شروره‪ ،‬وتعيده �إلى جادة ال�صواب‬ ‫ونقاء الفطرة في وعيها الطبيعى و�إدراكها لقيمة العالقة التى ال يجب‬ ‫�أبدا �أن تنف�صم بين المخلوق والخالق‪ ،‬والمعبود والعابد مهما �أخط�أ العبد‬ ‫�أو تجاوز‪،‬‬ ‫ومن هنا تقوم بع�ض العبادات بدور المنظف والمطهر للطبيعة الب�شرية‬ ‫من جراثيم الهبوط والمع�صية وفقدان المناعة‪.‬‬ ‫• ولما كانت المعا�صى متنوعة فقد تنوعت �أي�ضا �أن��واع الطاعات‬ ‫المطهرة منها والمكفرة لها‪ ،‬وكان �صوم رم�ضان من �أعجب العبادات‬ ‫التى فر�ضت على الإن�سان‪ ،‬فممار�سته تتم ب�شكل غيبي ال يعرفه �أو يطلع‬ ‫عليه‬ ‫�إال العبد وربه فقط‪ ،‬وجزا�ؤه غيبي ال تعرفه حتى المالئكة‪ ،‬ومن هنا جاء‬ ‫في الحديث القد�سي‪“ :‬كل عمل ابن �آدم له �إال ال�صوم ف�إنه لي و�أنا �أجزي‬ ‫به”(رواه الإمام البخاري في �صحيحه)‪.‬‬ ‫• وكان منهج العبادة ي�ساعد بع�ضه بع�ضا على طهارة الإن�سان وب�شكل‬ ‫م�ستمر‪ ،‬كما �شرح لنا ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‪ “ :‬ال�صلوات‬ ‫الخم�س‪ ،‬والجمعة �إلى الجمعة‪ ،‬ورم�ضان �إلى رم�ضان كفارات لما بينهن‬ ‫�إذا اجتنب الكبائر “ وفى لفظ “ مالم تغ�ش الكبائر “ رواه م�سلم في‬ ‫ال�صحيح‪.‬‬ ‫• �إرادة الإن�سان هنا لها دور فاعل في ت�صحيح الم�سار الإن�ساني ويجب‬ ‫�أن تحظى تلك الإرادة في ال�شريعة بما يقوى ع�ضدها وي�شد من عودها‬ ‫ويجعلها قادرة على اتخاذ القرار ال�صحيح‪.‬‬ ‫والبيان النبوي هنا يبين لنا الفرق بين الممار�سة حين تتم ب�شكل عفوي‬ ‫ال ق�صد فيه‪ ،‬وبين الممار�سة حين تكون من خلفها �إرادة باعثة‪ ،‬فال�صوم‬ ‫مثال قد يمار�سه بع�ض النا�س كنوع من الريا�ضة �أو كبرنامج للريجيم‬ ‫يتخل�ص به من بع�ض �سمنته وبع�ض وزن��ه‪ ،‬فيكون له ما �أراد بعيدا عن‬ ‫ق�ضية الثواب والعقاب واالمتثال والطاعة‪ ،‬واالمتثال والطاعة هنا تقت�ضى‬ ‫�أن يكون الباعث على ال�صوم هو �إيمان المكلف بالتكليف وا�ستقباله لهذا‬ ‫التكليف احت�سابا من المكلف لمن كلف على �سبيل الطاعة واالمتثال‪.‬‬ ‫• الإرادة الباعثة على الفعل هنا فرقت في النوايا بين عملين لهما من‬ ‫حيث ال�شكل نف�س ال�صورة المادية‪،‬‬ ‫لكن اختالف البواعث والدوافع هنا رفع �أحد العملين فجعله عبادة مح�ضة‬ ‫وخال�صة‪ ،‬ل�صاحبها عند ربه ومواله جزيل الثواب والأج��ر‪ ،‬بينما تحول‬ ‫العمل الآخر والذى يحمل نف�س ال�صورة كما وكيفا �إلى عمل �صاحبه غير‬ ‫م�أجور‬ ‫• النموذج المو�ضح لهذه ال�صورة ج��اء حديثا على ل�سان ال�صادق‬ ‫الم�صدوق �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم وقد افتتح به الإمام البخاري �صحيحه‬ ‫واعتبره العلماء من �أحاديث الأ�صول‪:‬‬ ‫عن �أمير الم�ؤمنين �أبي حف�ص عمر بن الخطاب ر�ضي اهلل عنه‪ ،‬قال‪:‬‬ ‫�سمعت ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‬ ‫يقول‪�(:‬إنما الأعمال بالن ّيات‪ ،‬و�إنما لكل امريء مانوى‪ ،‬فمن كانت هجرته‬ ‫�إل��ى اهلل ور�سوله‪ ،‬فهجرته �إل��ى اهلل ور�سوله‪ ،‬وم��ن كانت هجرته لدنيا‬ ‫ي�صيبها‪� ،‬أو ام��ر�أة ينكحها‪ ،‬فهجرته �إلى ما هاجر �إليه) رواه البخاري‬ ‫وم�سلم في �صحيحهما‪.‬‬ ‫• فك�أن �شهر رم�ضان بما احتواه من عبادة ال�صوم ي�شكل للعام كله بعثا‬ ‫جديدا للإرادة ويقظة حية للعزم و�صحوة للت�صميم على التغيير وال�سير‬ ‫في االتجاه ال�صحيح‪.‬‬ ‫• �إذً ا هو �شهر يبنى �إرادة المرء وي�ؤكد �إن�سانيته وت�ساميه فوق الغرائز‬ ‫عن طريق تدريبه على ا�ستخراج وا�ستثمار طاقة ال�صبر الكامنة في‬ ‫النف�س الب�شرية‪ ،‬وكل هذه العوامل مجتمعة ت�شكل رافعة ت�صعد بالإن�سان‬ ‫عقال وقلبا‪ ،‬روحا وج�سدا‪ ،‬فكرا ووجدانا لي�صل �إلى م�صاف المالئكة‬ ‫الكرام‪ ،‬وليكون �أهال لجائزة ال يعرف مداها وقيمتها �إال مانحها ومعطيها‬ ‫يتقبلها العبد بيمينه من اهلل الكريم يوم يلقاه‪،‬فينقلب �إلى �أهله مطمئنا‬ ‫بعد خوف‪ ،‬وم�سرورا بعد حزن‪ ،‬ومنعما بعد �شقاء وكبد ومعاناة‪.‬‬ ‫فطوبى لمن عرف كيف يوجه نواياه ف�صام �إيمانا واحت�سابا‪ ،‬والعاقبة عند‬ ‫ربك للمتقين‪.‬‬

‫تحقيق يقول ان المافيا‬ ‫«لها عالقات بكبار السياسيين في أستراليا»‬ ‫خ �ل �� ص��ت �إح� � ��دى �أك� �ب ��ر ال �� ش��رك��ات‬ ‫الإع�ل�ام��ي��ة ف��ي �أ� �س �ت��رال �ي��ا �إل� ��ى �أن‬ ‫ال �� س �ي��ا� �س �ي �ي��ن م��ن ك�ل�ا ال�ط�ي�ف�ي��ن‬ ‫ال�سيا�سيين الرئي�سين في البلد �أي من حزب العمال‬ ‫ومن الحزب الليبرالي خ�ضعوا لت�أثيرات متبرعين‬ ‫لهم �صالت بالمافيا‪.‬‬ ‫و�أو�ضحت �شركة “فيرفاك�س ميديا” �أن المافيا‬ ‫اخترقت ال�سيا�سيين الأ�ستراليين‪ ،‬م�ضيفة �أن‬ ‫�سيا�سيين � �س��واء على م�ستوى ال��والي��ات �أو على‬ ‫الم�ستوى الفيدرالي ات�ضح �أنهم عر�ضة “للف�ساد‬ ‫المحتمل” لأن نظام التبرعات ال�سيا�سي مليء بـ‬ ‫“الثغرات”‪.‬‬ ‫وقالت ال�شرطة �إن التحقيق الذي ا�ستغرق �سنة ال‬ ‫يزال في طور ال�سرية‪.‬‬ ‫وتدير المافيا الكاالبرية (ن�سبة �إل��ى منطقة في‬ ‫�إيطاليا) تجارة مخدرات وابتزاز قيمتها مليارات‬ ‫من اليورو‪.‬‬ ‫وه��ي واح��دة من �أق��وى الجماعات الإج��رام�ي��ة في‬ ‫العالم بحيث يمتد نفوذها و�شبكاتها من �إيطاليا �إلى‬ ‫باقي �أنحاء العالم‪.‬‬ ‫وتفيد �شبكة البث الأ�سترالية “�أي بي �سي” ب�أن‬ ‫المافيا الكاالبرية تعمل في �أ�ستراليا با�ستخدام‬ ‫التهديدات والعنف �سواء في الأن�شطة التجارية‬ ‫الم�شروعة مثل الخ�ضر وال �ف��واك��ه �أو الأن�شطة‬ ‫التجارية غير الم�شروعة مثل تجارة المخدرات‪.‬‬ ‫وخل�ص التحقيق الذي �شاركت فيه كل من “�أي بي‬ ‫�سي” و”فيرفاك�س ميديا” �إل��ى �أن ثمة ع��ددا من‬ ‫االت�صاالت بين “مجرمين معروفين وم�شتبه بهم”‬

‫ينتمون �إلى المافيا و�سيا�سيين بارزين في �أ�ستراليا‪.‬‬ ‫و�أ�ضاف التحقيق �أن رجال له “عالقات وطيدة مع‬ ‫المافيا” التقى برئي�س الوزراء ال�سابق‪ ،‬جون هوارد‪،‬‬ ‫وم�س�ؤولين �آخرين في الحزب الليبرالي الحاكم‬ ‫�آنذاك من �أجل جمع التبرعات له في �أوائل الألفية‬ ‫الثالثة‪.‬‬ ‫لكن التحقيق �أ��ض��اف �أن لي�س ثمة ما ي�شير �إلى‬ ‫�أن رئي�س ال��وزراء �آن��ذاك ك��ان على علم بالخلفية‬ ‫الإجرامية للرجل‪.‬‬ ‫وم�ضى التحقيق ق��ائ�لا �إن ال�سيا�سيين م��ن كال‬ ‫الطيفين ال�سيا�سيين في البلد �أي حزب العمال الذي‬ ‫له ميول ي�سارية والحزب الليبرالي الذي له ميول‬ ‫ليبرالية كما يوحي ا�سمه تعر�ضوا لت�أثيرات المافيا‬ ‫من خالل بوابة التبرعات‪.‬‬ ‫وتابع التقرير قائال �إن المافيا ا�ستخدمت عددا من‬ ‫و�سائل التبرع من �أجل �إ�ضفاء “وجه م�شروع” على‬ ‫�أن�شطتها‪.‬‬ ‫واكت�شف التحقيق �أن اب��ن �أح��د “زعماء المافيا‬ ‫المحتملين” ح�صل على فر�صة تدريب في ال�سفارة‬ ‫الأ�سترالية بروما‪ ،‬الأمر الذي و�صفته ال�شرطة ب�أنه‬ ‫“�سقطة”‪.‬‬ ‫وتعمل المافيا الكاالبرية التي ظهرت في ال�سبيعنيات‬ ‫من القرن الع�شرين ب�شكل �أ�سا�سي في �أرجاء �أوروبا‬ ‫ولها عالقة بع�صابات المخدرات في كولومبيا‪.‬‬ ‫و ُيعتقد �أن تجارة الكوكايين تعد �أح��د المداخيل‬ ‫الرئي�سية لهذه المافيا‪� ،‬إ�ضافة �إلى االبتزاز وغ�سيل‬ ‫الأموال‪.‬‬

‫التقى القادة ال�سيا�سيون وكبار م�س�ؤولي ال�سكان الأ�صليين في �أ�ستراليا في ‪ 6‬يوليو‪ /‬تموز‪،2015‬‬ ‫لبدء العمل للتو�صل التفاق من �ش�أنه االعتراف بـ”ال�سكان الأ�صليين لأ�ستراليا” في د�ستور‬ ‫البالد‪.‬‬ ‫وقال رئي�س الوزراء توني �أبوت �إن الإجراء �سوف ينهي “ال�صمت المدوي” في وثيقة ت�أ�سي�س البالد التي‬ ‫ال تعترف بوجود ال�سكان اال�صليين الذين عا�شوا على تلك الأر�ض قبل �أن ت�ستعمر من جانب ذوي الب�شرة‬ ‫البي�ضاء‪.‬‬ ‫وهناك عدم اتفاق حول ما �إذا كان التغيير يجب �أن يت�ضمن �شرطا لحظر تحديد التمييز العن�صري و�ضمان‬ ‫حقوق ال�سكان الأ�صليين‪� ،‬أو بيان ب�سيط يعترف ب�أن ال�سكان الأ�صليين عا�شوا على تلك الأر�ض لمدة ‪� 60‬ألف‬ ‫�سنة‪ ،‬وذلك قبل و�صول �أول �أ�سطول من �إنجلترا عام ‪. 1788‬‬ ‫وعندما �أ�س�س البريطانيون الم�ستعمرات في �أ�ستراليا‪ ،‬كانت الأر�ض تعتبر من الناحية القانونية “‪terra‬‬ ‫‪( ”nullius‬وهو م�صطلح التيني يعني �أنها غير مملوكة لأحد)‪ ،‬وبالتالي كانت متاحة لال�ستعمار‪.‬‬ ‫والتقى �أكثر من ‪ 40‬من كبار م�س�ؤولي ال�سكان الأ�صليين ب�أبوت وزعيم المعار�ضة بيل �شورتن في �سيدني لبدء‬ ‫�سل�سلة محلية من الم�ؤتمرات المجتمعية حول البالد خالل الثمانية ع�شر �أ�شهر المقبلة‪.‬‬ ‫وقال �أب��وت �إنه ي�أمل في �أن يكون هناك اتفاق وطني لال�ستقرار على‬ ‫�صياغة التعديل بحلول نهاية عام ‪� 2016‬أو مطلع عام ‪. 2017‬‬ ‫وقال �أبوت‪�“ :‬إننا جيدون بالقدر الكافي‪ ،‬وكبار بالقدر الكافي‪ ،‬كما �أننا‬ ‫لدينا القدر الكافي من ال�شجاعة للقيام بذلك‪� ،‬إال �أنه من ال�ضروري �أن‬ ‫نقوم بذلك على النحو ال�صحيح”‪.‬‬ ‫من ناحية �أخرى‪ ،‬قال بات دود�سون زعيم ال�سكان الأ�صليين في غرب‬ ‫�أ�ستراليا‪� ،‬إنه اجتماع بناء و�إيجابي‪.‬‬

‫�سام (لي�س ا�سمه الحقيقي) عمره ‪� 17‬سنة مولود في �سوريا‪ .‬هاجر �إلى‬ ‫�أ�ستراليا مع والديه و�شقيقتيه الأ�صغر منه قبل ‪� 4‬سنوات‪� .‬سام حاليا‬ ‫تلميذ في ال�سنة ‪12‬؛ وهو ال يحب المدر�سة وال يمكنه االنتظار حتى‬ ‫يح�صل على الوظيفة‪ .‬لأن �سام يجد �صعوبة في المدر�سة لأنه “�أحيانا”‬ ‫ال يفهم ما يحتاج �إليه للقيام بالواجب المدر�سي ولأنه ُي�شارك مع الزُمر‬ ‫الغير الئقة في المدر�سة‪ ،‬وهذا ي�سبب له �أن يتخطى المدر�سة و�إعطاء‬ ‫المواقف �أم��ام المعلمين حتى يمكن �أن يظهر ' راب��ط الج�أ�ش “�أمام‬ ‫�أ�صدقائه‪ .‬انه يحب لعب كرة القدم وكان يلعبها عندما كان �أ�صغر �سنا‬ ‫في ناد لكرة القدم المحلي‪.‬‬ ‫عم �سام يحب المقامرة‪ .‬على الرغم من انه يعرف �أن القمار “خط�أ”‪،‬‬

‫مبادرة تركية لتوحيد التقويم الهجري‬ ‫تعتزم رئا�سة ال��ش��ؤون الدينية التركية‬ ‫عقد م�ؤتمر تحت عنوان “توحيد الأ�شهر‬ ‫القمرية وال�ت�ق��وي��م ال�ه�ج��ري الدولي”‪،‬‬ ‫بهدف توحيد الأم��ة الإ�سالمية في ب��داي��ات الأ�شهر‬ ‫الهجرية ودرا�سة توحيد التقويم الهجري‪ ،‬وتحديد �أيام‬ ‫المنا�سبات الدينية مثل بداية �شهر رم�ضان والأعياد‬ ‫(الفطر والأ�ضحى) بين الم�سلمين‪ ،‬وذل��ك في �شهر‬ ‫مار�س عام ‪.2016‬‬

‫واعتبرت ال�ش�ؤون الدينية �أن االختالفات في بداية‬ ‫�شهر رم�ضان في بع�ض البلدان الإ�سالمية وحتى في‬ ‫داخ��ل بع�ض المدن‪ ،‬وما ينتج عن ذلك من اختالف‬ ‫�أي��ام الأع�ي��اد‪ ،‬مخالفة ل��روح الإ��س�لام‪ ،‬و�إنطالقا من‬ ‫ذلك قررت عقد اجتماع �شامل دعت �إليه علماء دين‬ ‫وفلك و�أ�صحاب القرار في البلدان الإ�سالمية‪ ،‬لمعالجة‬ ‫الق�ضية‪.‬‬ ‫ومن المنتظر �أن يناق�ش الم�ؤتمر مقترحات وتقاويم‬

‫للو�صول �إلى نتائج علمية‪� ،‬إ�ضافة �إلى عر�ض ثالثة بحوث‬ ‫مف�صلة في الجوانب ال�شرعية والفلكية واالجتماعية‬ ‫االقت�صادية‪ ،‬تت�ضمن خال�صة مواد النقا�ش‪.‬‬ ‫ومن المزمع �أن تقوم لجنة علمية م�شكلة من خبراء‬ ‫في الفقه والفلك‪ ،‬وعلماء‪ ،‬واخت�صا�صيين في موا�ضيع‬ ‫تحديد الأ�شهر القمرية والتقويم الهجري‪ ،‬بتقديم‬ ‫مقترحات بخ�صو�ص توحيد بدايات الأ�شهر القمرية‪،‬‬ ‫في �ضوء �أهداف ومحاور الم�ؤتمر‪.‬‬

‫استياء واسع‬ ‫بين مسلمي روسيا‬ ‫بعد هدم مسجد (نور اإلسالم)‬ ‫نفذت ال�سلطات الرو�سية قرارها بهدم م�سجد نور‬ ‫الإ�سالم في مدينة نوفي �أورينغوي و�سط ا�ستياء‬ ‫وا�سع من الم�سلمين‪.‬‬ ‫و�أرجعت ال�سلطات الرو�سية قرارها بحجة مكافحة ما ي�سمى‬ ‫“التطرف” رغم �أن المحكمة العليا رف�ضت هذه المبررات‪.‬‬ ‫وطالب مراقبون بوقف القرارات الجائرة‪ ،‬وح��ذروا من ن�شر‬ ‫الكراهية بين �أبناء الأديان‪.‬‬ ‫و�أقدمت �سلطات المدينة على هدم م�سجد نور الإ�سالم المقام‬ ‫منذ عام ‪ 1996‬بزعم �أنه ي�شكل خطرا على الأمن‪ ،‬و�أعلنت �أنها‬ ‫تنوي �أن تقيم مكانه مركزا ترفيهيا وفندقا للحيوانات‪.‬‬

‫وي�شكو م�سلمو رو�سيا من قلة الم�ساجد على الرغم من �أن‬ ‫الإ�سالم هو الديانة الثانية في رو�سيا‪ ،‬حيث يفوق تعداد �أتباعه‬ ‫ع�شرين مليونا يتركز معظمهم ف��ي جمهوريات تتار�ستان‬ ‫و�شمال القوقاز وال�م��دن الكبرى‪ ،‬مثل مو�سكو وبطر�سبرغ‬ ‫ونيجني نوفغورد‪.‬‬ ‫وفي مو�سكو وحدها يعي�ش نحو مليوني م�سلم‪ ،‬وفي المقابل ال‬ ‫يوجد في المدينة �سوى �أربعة م�ساجد‪.‬‬ ‫الم�صدر‪ :‬الم�سلم‬

‫أطباء سوريون يكشفون على المرضى بتطبيق على الهاتف‬ ‫ا�� س� �ت� �ط ��اع الأط � �ب� ��اء‬ ‫ال�سوريون ف��ي الغوطة‬ ‫ال�غ��رب�ي��ة �إن��ق��اذ حياة‬ ‫مئات المر�ضى والجرحي‪ ،‬بوا�سطة‬ ‫تطبيق على هواتفهم الذكية‪ ،‬ولج�أ‬ ‫الأط �ب��اء �إل��ى ه��ذا بعد توقف �آالت‬ ‫الك�شف عن المر�ضى ب�سبب انقطاع‬ ‫الكهرباء‪ ،‬والح�صار المفرو�ض على‬ ‫العديد من البلدات‪.‬‬ ‫بعد معاناة كثيرة للمر�ضى‪ ،‬وبحث‬ ‫م�ضن من الأطباء على بدائل لآالت‬ ‫الك�شف‪ ،‬نجح �إطار طبي في مدينة‬ ‫م�شفى الغوطة الغربية التخ�ص�صي‪،‬‬ ‫ف��ي �إي� �ج ��اد ب��رن��ام��ج ن��اج��ع ي��دع��ى‬ ‫“‪.”Cardio‬‬ ‫هذا التطبيق بح�سب ما �أكده الطبيب‬ ‫الميداني عمر الحكيم ل�صحيفة‬ ‫“عربي‪ ،”21‬يعتبر بالن�سبة لهم‬ ‫ان �ج��ازا طبيا ب��أع�ل��ى الم�ستويات‪،‬‬ ‫وذل��ك لأن التطبيق �ساعدهم على‬ ‫ف �ح ��ص ال �م��ر� �ض��ى‪ ،‬وع�لام��ات �ه��م‬ ‫ال�ح�ي��وي��ة ف��ي ظ��ل ف �ق��دان ال�ط��اق��ة‬ ‫لت�شغيل الأجهزة المتخ�ص�صة‪.‬‬ ‫و�أ�ضاف المتحدث �أن هذه الفكرة‬ ‫تبدو معقدة‪� ،‬إال �أنها تعو�ض الأطباء‬ ‫ف��ي م�ست�شفى ال �غ��وط��ة ع��ن جهد‬ ‫م�ضاعف‪ ،‬وبالأخ�ص عندما تكون‬

‫النتائج المعطاة على �شا�شة الهواتف‬ ‫ال��ذك �ي��ة ��ص��ادق��ة‪ ،‬وت �م �ث��ل ق��راءة‬ ‫�صحيحة لو�ضع الجريح �أو الم�صاب‬ ‫�أو �أ�صحاب الأمرا�ض المزمنة‪.‬‬ ‫وتعد ه��ذه الخطوة ه��ي الأول ��ى من‬ ‫نوعها في �سوريا‪ ،‬وب��د�أ العمل بها‬ ‫م �ن��ذ ف �ت��رة ف��ي م��دي �ن��ة مع�ضمية‬ ‫ال�شام بالغوطة الغربية‪ ،‬وفي المدن‬ ‫ال�سورية التي ت�شهد �أو�ضاعا �إن�سانية‬ ‫�سيئة‪.‬‬ ‫و�أ�شار الحكيم �أن التطبيق �ساعدهم‬ ‫ع�ل��ى ق�ي��ا��س درج��ات نب�ض القلب‬ ‫وعمليات التخطيط‪ ،‬و�إعطاء نتائج‬ ‫دقيقة‪ ،‬وم��ن مميزاته ال�سرعة في‬ ‫العمل‪ ،‬مما �ساهم في �إنقاذ مئات‬ ‫ال �ح��االت الإ�سعافية الم�ستعجلة‪،‬‬ ‫وخ��ا��ص��ة م��ع ع��دم ت��وف��ر الكهرباء‬ ‫وال �م �ح��روق��ات‪ ،‬والأدوات الطبية‬ ‫الالزمة‪.‬‬ ‫م��ؤك��دا �أن ال�ت�ط�ب�ي��ق ح�ق��ق نتائج‬ ‫مبهرة جعلت ع�شرات الم�صابين‬ ‫والمر�ضى يبقون على قيد الحياة‪،‬‬ ‫رغم الح�صار المحكم على مدينة‬ ‫مع�ضمية ال�شام منذ �أ�شهر‪.‬‬ ‫و�أو�� ض ��ح ال�ط�ب�ي��ب ال �م �ي��دان��ي‪� ،‬أن‬ ‫ال� �ب ��رن ��ام ��ج ي �ع �ت �م��د ع��ل��ى ت�ق�ن�ي��ة‬ ‫“الكاميرا والحرارة”‪ ،‬وب�إمكان‬

‫الطبيب و��ض��ع �أ�صبع المري�ض �أو‬ ‫الم�صاب على الكاميرا بالتما�س‬ ‫مدة ‪ 10‬ثواني فقط‪ ،‬وبالتالي يظهر‬ ‫التطبيق العالمات الحيوية للنب�ض‬ ‫وتخطيط القلب‪ ،‬ليظهر التطبيق‬ ‫تباعا النتائج المطلوبة‪ ،‬والتي على‬ ‫��ض��وئ�ه��ا ي �ب��د�أ ال�ط�ب�ي��ب الم�شرف‬ ‫بتقديم العالج للحالة المر�ضية التي‬ ‫بين يديه‪.‬‬ ‫وي �م �ك��ن ل �ل �ب��رن��ام��ج ال��م��ق��دم من‬ ‫المو�سوعة الطبية العالمية �أن يطبع‬ ‫المعلومات الخا�صة بالمري�ض التي‬ ‫قام بقراءتها عبر الكاميرا‪.‬‬ ‫و�أ�ضاف الحكيم �أن التطبيق ي�ساهم‬ ‫في مراقبة ال�صحة العامة للجرحى‬ ‫والم�صابين ب�أمرا�ض مزمنة‪ ،‬ويتيح‬ ‫التطبيق للطبيب الم�شرف قيا�س‬ ‫ال��وزن‪ ،‬ونب�ضات القلب والتخطيط‬ ‫وغيرها م��ن العديد م��ن الميزات‬ ‫الطبية ال�م�ج��ان�ي��ة ال �ت��ي ق��د تكون‬ ‫�سببا ف��ي �إن �ق��اذ ح�ي��اة الم�صابين‬ ‫ف��ي ظ��ل ع��دم ت��وف��ر �أدن ��ى مقومات‬ ‫ال� �ع�ل�اج ال �ط �ب��ي ف ��ي ال �غ��وط �ت �ي��ن‬ ‫الغربية وال�شرقية وبقية المناطق‬ ‫المحا�صرة‪.‬‬

‫�آخر نظرية لنهاية الكون ت�ؤكد �أن تو�سع الكون لن ي�ستمر للأبد كما يعتقد بع�ض العلماء‬ ‫من وكالة نا�سا‪ ،‬لأن الطاقة الموجودة في الكون محدودة‪ .‬وبالتالي فمهما طال الزمن‬ ‫ولو مليارات ال�سنين‪ ،‬ف�إن النهاية حتمية‪ ..‬وهي التمزق العظيم ‪ Big Rip‬كما يعتقد‬ ‫بع�ض العلماء! وكلمة ‪ Rip‬التي ي�ستخدمها العلماء تعني االن�شقاق �أي�ض ًا‪ ..‬وي�ؤكدون �أن الكون ي�سير‬ ‫باتجاه االن�شقاق والتمزق‪ ..‬وهذا يذكرني بقول الحق تبارك وتعالى‪َ { :‬ف َي ْو َم ِئ ٍذ َو َق َع ِت ا ْل َوا ِق َع ُة (‪)15‬‬ ‫ال�س َما ُء فَهِ َي َي ْو َم ِئ ٍذ َو ِاه َيةٌ} الحاقة‪ ،16-15 :‬وبالفعل ف�إن الكون �سيكون واهي ًا �ضعيف ًا بعد‬ ‫َوانْ�شَ ق َِّت َّ‬ ‫تو�سعه لدرجة كبيرة وت�شتت المجرات وتباعدها عبر مليارات ال�سنين‪...‬‬ ‫طبع ًا هذه النظرية برزت كنتيجة للح�سابات الريا�ضية التي �أجراها العلماء على الكون‪ .‬فلغة‬ ‫الريا�ضيات ال تعرف المجاملة‪ ،‬وهي تقول ب�أن للكون نهاية‪ .‬و�أن الكون لزج جد ًا ولي�س كما نعتقد‬ ‫�أنه ف�ضاء! �إنه بناء محكم بكل معنى الكلمة‪ ،‬ولكن �إذا نظرنا �إليه نظرة �أعمق و�أبعد من حدود‬ ‫�أر�ضنا‪.‬‬ ‫ف�إذا ما خرجنا �إلى م�سافات بعيدة خارج حدود مجرتنا ف�سوف نرى الكون يزدحم بالمجرات‬ ‫والمادة المظلمة والطاقة المظلمة‪ ..‬وهو �أ�شبه بقطعة قما�ش كثيفة ولكن خيوط هذه القطعة هي‬ ‫المادة المظلمة وتزين هذه الخيوط المجرات والنجوم‪..‬‬

‫دراسة‪ :‬الصيام يقلل خطر اإلصابة بالسكري والسرطان‬ ‫ك�شفت درا�سة �أمريكية حديثة �أن النظام‬ ‫الغذائي المتبع في ال�صيام والمعتمد على‬ ‫تقليل ال�سعرات ال�ح��راري��ة التي يتناولها‬ ‫الأ�شخا�ص بن�سبة ت�صل �إلى الن�صف‪ُ ،‬يبطئ ال�شيخوخة‬ ‫ويقلل خطر الإ�صابة ب�أمرا�ض ال�سرطان وال�سكري‪.‬‬ ‫و�أو�ضح الباحثون في جامعة جنوب كاليفورنيا �أن خف�ض‬ ‫ال�سعرات الحرارية بن�سبة تتراوح بين ‪ %34‬و‪ ٪54‬ي�ساعد‬ ‫على تقليل ع�لام��ات ال�شيخوخة و�أم��را��ض ال�سرطان‬ ‫وال�سكر‪ ،‬بح�سب ما ذكرته �صحيفة تلغراف البريطانية‪.‬‬ ‫و�أجرى الباحثون التجربة على مجموعتين من الأ�شخا�ص‬ ‫لمدة خم�سة �أي��ام‪ ،‬واعتمد النظام الغذائي على تقليل‬ ‫عدد ال�سعرات الحرارية التي يتناولها الأ�شخا�ص بين‬ ‫‪ %34‬و‪.%54‬‬ ‫ففي �أول �أيام التجربة‪ ،‬تناول الأ�شخا�ص ما يعادل ‪1090‬‬ ‫�سعرة حرارية‪ ،‬وفي اليوم الثاني التزموا ب�ـ‪� 725‬سعرة‬ ‫حرارية فقط‪ ،‬وا�ستمروا في ذلك حتى اليوم الخام�س‪،‬‬ ‫وبعدها عادوا للنظام الغذائي المعتاد قبل تكرار الأيام‬ ‫الخم�سة مرة �أخ��رى‪ ،‬فيما ا�ستمرت المجموعة الأخرى‬ ‫على و�ضع الأكل الطبيعي‪.‬‬

‫ووجد الباحثون‪ ،‬بعد التجارب التي ا�ستمرت على مدى‬ ‫ثالثة �أ�شهر‪� ،‬أن ال�صوم �ساعد على تقليل م�ستوى ال�سكر‬ ‫في الدم بن�سبة ‪ %10‬خالل �أيام ال�صيام الخم�سة‪ ،‬وفي‬ ‫العموم انخف�ضت ن�سبة ال�سكر في الدم بن�سبة ‪ %6‬على‬ ‫الأق��ل‪ ،‬كما انخف�ضت م��ادة كيميائية ت�سمى “�آي جي‬ ‫�أف‪ )IGF1( ”1‬ترتبط ب�أمرا�ض ال�شيخوخة بن�سبة‬ ‫‪ ،%24‬بالمقارنة مع المجموعة الأخرى‪.‬‬ ‫و�أجرى الباحثون تجربة ال�صوم لمدة �أربعة �أيام‪ ،‬مرتين‬ ‫في ال�شهر على مجموعة من الفئران‪ ،‬و�أظهرت النتائج‬ ‫وج��ود عالمات على تجدد الخاليا المناعية والعظام‬ ‫والع�ضالت والكبد والدماغ �أي�ضا‪.‬‬ ‫كما عا�شت الفئران فترة �أط ��ول‪ ،‬وقلت معاناتها من‬ ‫�أمرا�ض االلتهابات وال�سرطان‪ ،‬و�أ�صبحت تلك الحيوانات‬ ‫أي�ضا‪.‬‬ ‫�أف�ضل من حيث الذاكرة � ً‬ ‫و�أ��ش��ار الباحثون �إل��ى �أن تكرار النظام الغذائي الذي‬ ‫يحاكي ال�صوم‪ ،‬يعود ب�آثار �صحية على الج�سم‪ ،‬لكن‬ ‫مع �ضمان تناول الفيتامينات الحيوية والمعادن والمواد‬ ‫الغذائية المطلوبة للحد من الآثار التي ي�سببها االمتناع‬ ‫عن تناول الطعام مثل �صعوبات النوم والجفاف وال�صداع‪.‬‬

‫تطوير قلم يحول الخطوط‬ ‫من أي سطح إلى كتابة مقروءة على الهاتف‬ ‫يجري تطوير قلم رقمي‬ ‫ذكي ي�سمح لم�ستخدمه‬ ‫بحفظ وم�شاركة ن�سخة‬ ‫رق�م�ي��ة م��ن �أي ر� �س��م �أو ملحوظة‬ ‫يكتبها على �أي �سطح‪ ،‬بحيث تنتقل‬ ‫ن�سخة من تلك الكتابة �أو الر�سم �إلى‬ ‫هاتفه المحمول الذكي‪.‬‬ ‫فعندما يتوفر القلم الذي يطلق عليه‬ ‫“فري” مع الهاتف المحمول الذكي‪،‬‬ ‫ف�إنه يجعل م�ستخدمه غير محتاج‬ ‫للكتابة ع�ل��ى ورق �أو ع�ل��ى �شا�شة‬ ‫الهاتف نف�سها‪.‬‬ ‫وي�ق��ول م�ط��ورو القلم‪� ،‬إن جاذبيته‬ ‫تتمثل ف��ي ح�ف��اظ��ه ع�ل��ى الأ��س�ل��وب‬ ‫القديم للكتابة والر�سم مع مواكبته‬ ‫للتطور التكنولوجي في الوقت ذاته‪.‬‬ ‫و ُي�شبه “فري” الأق�ل�ام التقليدية‬ ‫العادية التي تُم�سك باليد في الحجم‬ ‫وال�شكل‪.‬‬

‫وقال جيالد ليدرر‪ ،‬المدير التنفيذي‬ ‫ال�م��ش��ارك وال�م��ؤ��س��س ال�م��ش��ارك‬ ‫ل�شركة “�أو تي �إم تكنولوجيز” �إن‬ ‫القلم ي�صدر �شعاع ليزر من ر�أ�سه‬ ‫يحول الكتابة اليدوية �أو الر�سوم‬ ‫على �أي �سطح تقريبا على الفور �إلى‬ ‫مادة رقمية على الهاتف الذكي حيث‬ ‫تتم معالجتها ح�سابيا وتحويلها �إلى‬ ‫�إ�شارة حركية‪.‬‬ ‫�أ�� ض ��اف ل� �ي ��درر‪“ :‬تكتب ف ��ي �أي‬ ‫مكان تريد وعلى �أي �سطح لكنك‬ ‫تن�شيء ب�شكل مبا�شر (ف��ي نف�س‬ ‫ال��وق��ت) حبرا رقميا على الجهاز‬ ‫الم�ستهدف”‪.‬‬ ‫وبغ�ض النظر عن ال�سطح المكتوب‬ ‫عليه ف�إن الجهاز الم�ستهدف ‪�-‬سواء‬ ‫�أك��ان �ساعة �أم تلفزيونا �أم نظارة‬ ‫واق ��ع اف�ت��را��ض��ي‪ -‬يمكنه التقاطه‬ ‫كامال‪ .‬والقلم متوافق مع البرامج‬

‫الموجودة مثل �إيفرنوت ولوحة غوغل‬ ‫للكتابة اليدوية وفايبر‪ ،‬ويت�صل ب�أي‬ ‫�شيء عن طريق البلوتوث‪.‬‬ ‫وت�ك��ون الكتابة ال�ي��دوي��ة مرئية في‬ ‫ذات الوقت على الجهاز الم�ستهدف‬ ‫وبالتالي تتحول �إل��ى كتابة طباعية‬ ‫على ال�شا�شة ب ��أي لغة تقريبا‪� ،‬أو‬ ‫ك�صورة بخط ي��د ال�شخ�ص الأم��ر‬ ‫الذي ُي َمكن الم�ستخدم من م�شاركة‬ ‫مالحظاته الوا�ضحة من خالل ن�ص‬ ‫�أو بريد �إلكتروني �أو �أي تطبيق �آخر‬ ‫على الهاتف المحمول‪.‬‬ ‫ويعمل القلم من على م�سافة بو�صة‬ ‫(‪ 25‬م�ل�ل�ي�م�ت��را) م��ن ط��رف��ه �إل��ى‬ ‫ال�سطح‪ ،‬ويمكن ا�ستخدامه على بعد‬ ‫ي�صل �إل��ى ع�شرة �أمتار من الجهاز‬ ‫الم�ستخدم‪.‬‬

‫يمثل هذا الر�سم(ح�سب جامعة ‪ )Vanderbilt University‬خط الزمن منذ ن�شوء الكون(قبل‬ ‫‪ 13.7‬مليار ع��ام) وحتى نهاية الكون(بعد ‪ 22‬مليار ع��ام) كما يظن العلماء‪ .‬و�سوف تحدث‬ ‫الكثير من الأ�شياء في الم�ستقبل مثل انهيار النجوم والمجرات‪ .‬ثم انهيار المجموعة ال�شم�سية‬ ‫والكواكب‪ ..‬وهكذا حتى فناء الكون ب�أكمله وفق م�شهد مرعب ي�سمى التمزق العظيم‪.‬‬ ‫هذه النظرية تبرز اليوم(‪ )2015‬بقوة في ال�ساحة العلمية‪ ،‬ولكن القر�آن �أ�شار �إلى هذه النهاية‬ ‫الحتمية بتفا�صيلها وب�شكل �أكثر دقة ومو�ضوعية‪ .‬فقد �أنب�أ القر�آن عن نهاية الكون في قوله‬ ‫ال�سجِ ِّل ِل ْل ُكتُبِ َك َما َب َد�أْنَا �أَ َّولَ خَ لْقٍ ُن ِعي ُد ُه َو ْع� ً�دا َع َل ْينَا �إِنَّا ُكنَّا‬ ‫ال�س َما َء َك َط ِّي ِّ‬ ‫تعالى‪َ {:‬ي ْو َم ن َْطوِي َّ‬ ‫ف ِ‬ ‫ين} الأنبياء‪ .104 :‬الآية ت�ؤكد �أن الكون �سينتهي بعملية منظمة ولي�ست ع�شوائية كما يعتقد‬ ‫َاع ِل َ‬ ‫العلماء! ولكن كيف بد�أ اهلل الخلق؟‬ ‫الَ ْر َ�ض‬ ‫ال�س َما َو ِات َو ْ أ‬ ‫لقد �أخبر القر�آن عن بداية الكون في قوله تعالى‪� {:‬أَ َو َل ْم َي َر ال َِّذ َ‬ ‫ين َك َف ُروا �أَ َّن َّ‬ ‫ُون } الأنبياء‪ .30 :‬في هذه الآية ي�ؤكد‬ ‫َاه َما َو َج َع ْلنَا ِم َن ا ْل َما ِء ُك َّل �شَ ْي ٍء َح ٍّي �أَ َفلاَ ُي�ؤ ِْمن َ‬ ‫َكا َنتَا َر ْتقًا َف َف َت ْقن ُ‬ ‫البارئ عز وجل �أن الكون كان كتلة واحدة ففتقها وفق عمليات منظمة ولي�ست انفجار ع�شوائي‪..‬‬ ‫والآية ال�سابقة ت�ؤكد �أن الكون �سينتهي بعملية«الطي العظيم» ولي�س التمزق العظيم‪ ،‬ولكن لماذا؟‬ ‫لأن االنفجار ال يولد �إال الفو�ضى والدمار‪ ،‬بينما االنفتاق المنظم يولد النظام البديع الذي نراه‬ ‫يتجلى في كل ذرة من ذرات الكون‪ .‬وبالت�أكيد �سينتهي الكون بعمليات منظمة �سماها القر�آن طي‬ ‫ال�س َما ُء ا ْنف ََط َر ْت(‪َ )1‬و�إِذَ ا‬ ‫ال�سماء‪ ،‬ولكن يرافها بع�ض العمليات التدميرية للنجوم والكواكب‪�} :‬إِذَ ا َّ‬ ‫ا ْل َك َو ِاك ُب ا ْن َت َث َر ْت(‪َ )2‬و�إِذَ ا ا ْلب َِحا ُر ف ُِّج َر ْت{ االنفطار‪.3-1 :‬‬ ‫وم‬ ‫وهناك عمليات انهيار للنجوم وكذلك للمجموعة ال�شم�سية‪�} :‬إِذَ ا ال�شَّ ْم ُ�س ُك ِّو َر ْت(‪َ )1‬و�إِذَ ا الن ُُّج ُ‬ ‫ال�س َما ُء انْ�شَ ق َّْت{‬ ‫ا ْن َك َد َر ْت{ التكوير‪ ..2-1 :‬وهناك عمليات ان�شقاق وانهيار في الكون‪�} :‬إِذَ ا َّ‬ ‫ال�س َما ُء ُك ِ�ش َط ْت{ التكوير‪.11 :‬‬ ‫االن�شقاق‪ .1 :‬وكذلك } َو�إِذَ ا َّ‬ ‫وهكذا تتجلى �أمانا عظمة هذا القر�آن و�أنه كتاب يتفق مع ما يتو�صل �إليه العلماء حديث ًا‪ ،‬وهذا يدل‬ ‫على �أنه كتاب اهلل تعالى‪ ،‬ولي�س كما يدعي الم�شككون والملحدون‪ ..‬والحمد هلل رب العالمين‪..‬‬

Stretton multicultural champion Yasmin Khan has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Queensland Multicultural Awards in recognition of her efforts to create more inclusive and harmonious society. Member for Stretton, Duncan Pegg said the award winners would be announced at a gala dinner in Brisbane on August 22, which was one of the most prestigious events in the state’s multicultural calendar and the premier event of Queensland Multicultural Week. The Multicultural Awards, which have been running for 25 years, honours outstanding Queenslanders who contribute to our vibrant and multicultural society. “The awards recognise individuals, businesses and community organisations who work and volunteer to promote multiculturalism across the state,” Mr Pegg said. “Yasmin Khan from Kuraby has been selected as a finalist in the Multicultural Ambassador category for her efforts to promote inclusiveness and harmony among Queensland communities “I’m pleased that our local area is well represented by such a deserving finalist and I wish Yasmin the best of luck.”

A Warning The Fruit of Anti-Muslim Bigotry

ilal42@bigpond.com “Tens of thousands of people poured into Srebrenica 20 years after more than 8,000 people were killed in the worst atrocity on European soil since World War II. The remains of 136 newlyidentified victims will be laid to rest on Saturday along with thousands of others already buried at a memorial centre just outside the Bosnian town Thousands of Muslim men and boys were slaughtered by Bosnian Serb forces after they captured Srebrenica in July 1995 near the end of Bosnia’s inter-ethnic war.” (Al Jazeera 11 July 2015) This anti-Muslim genocide has a vital message for Muslims living as minorities and for all who might be regarded as “the other” in any society. It is a warning. The commemoration has brought this whole matter of incitement, of denigration and hatred to the fore. It is of significance to Australian Muslims, as there is a pattern of growing antiMuslim bigotry in this country, which is not being tackled by any of our political leaders. The muted response of the ALP to the Reclaim Australia antiMuslim rallies in April, and the total silence of the Abbott Government, indicate that the situation is likely to worsen in the short term. Hatred in Bosnia-Herzegovina The intensity of hatred directed at Bosnian Muslims was witnessed by a myriad of journalists, military personnel and UN officials. Roy Gutman, whose reports of ethnic cleansing in Bosnia earned him the 1993 Pulitzer Prize, reported on the concentration camp at Omarska. In“A Witness to Genocide” he reported “ Despite the imprecision of the statistics, the story of Omarska and the other

concentration camps in Bosnia constitutes one of the most savage chapters in modern European history. …Redzep Tahirovic, 52, said he was brought to Omarska with hundreds of others on May 26 after Serbs destroyed and ‘cleansed’ the nearby Muslim town of Kazarac. In a sworn statement given to the Bosnian State Commission on War Crimes, he said guards called out a dozen people a day for five days and decapitated them with chain saws near one of the main pits. He said Omarska prisoners were forced to witness the massacre as well as the subsequent execution of 20 non-Serb policeman from Prijedor.” (page 95) David Rieff, in “Slaughterhouse. Bosnia and the Failure of the West” reported the experience of Jose Maria Mendiluce, who was the special representative of the High Commissioner of the UNHRC. “I saw kids put under the treads of tanks, placed there by grown men, and then run over by other grown men,” he recalled with a shudder. “Everywhere, people were shooting. The fighters were moving through the town, systematically killing all the Muslims they could get their hands on. It was an intoxication, sure. “ (page 200) The path to genocide had been carved out in the years before the event. Norman Cigar in his outstanding book “Genocide in Bosnia; The Policy of “Ethnic Cleansing.”(Texas A&M University Press 1995) devotes Chapter 3 The Preparatory Phase: Paving the Road to Genocide, to the preliminaries. He writes“Well before the break-up of Yugoslavia, influential figures in Serbia had begun to shape a stereotypical image of Muslims as alien, inferior, and a threat to all that Serbs held dear.” The notion of “them” and “us” was well developed. “Vuk Draskovic, author of several controversial bestsellers, such as the evocatively titled novel, Noz (Knife), which was first published in 1982 and reprinted several times, was perhaps the most popular and influential individual in developing such stereotypes early. Set largely against the background of World War II, the Muslim characters in Noz appear mostly as treacherous cold-blooded murderers. What is more, Noz contains an

Srebrenica Genocide Memorial explicit denial of the Muslims’ existence as a legitimate community..” (page 25) The Serbian media denigrated Islam with extreme stereotypes, portraying Muslims as alien, as not belonging and as threatening. All themes we are unfortunately becoming familiar with. Draskovic played an important role in propagating these ideas. “He lashed out vehemently at the “fury of offensive and intolerant Islam in Bosnia, Kosovo, the Sandzak, and Herzegovina….[at] the vampire-like resurgence of

the tradition of the Shariah [religious law], and...the strategy of jihad [holy war] with the goal of creating an Islamic state in the Balkans.” The Bosnian Muslims were even lumbered with the anti-Arab stereotypes so popular in Hollywood at the time. “As a result of their purported “desert origins” and of a “special genre of the Ottoman soldiery,” Yugoslavia’s Muslims allegedly exhibit a long list of inherited characteristic flaws, such as propensity to theft, a lack of ethics, laziness, authoritarianism, a “neo-

primitive lust for power,” and even discomfort with wearing European clothing………….. Moreover, “simply put, the semi-Arab is not capable of understanding the essence of one of the basic traits of the European, namely the institution of the uniqueness of personal freedom which is fundamentally above any collectivity.” (pages 26-27) The dangers of incitement to hate We now understand what resulted from this bigoted anti-Muslim propaganda. Incitement to hatred and

even killing had occurred for some years before events escalated to the point of war and genocide. The history of the Balkans is fraught with religious and ethnic conflict, it was the dividing line between the Orthodox and the Catholic worlds, then between the Ottomans and the Latin west. We do not have this history in Australia, so the outcome will not be as violent as that in Bosnia, but the inability or the unwillingness of our political leaders in this country to stand up against bigotry and incitement to hate is of grave concern. Here in Australia we do not have mainstream religious leaders inciting hate, although there are fringe groups and individuals whose whole persona is developed around inciting fear of Islam. Some of them are involved in the Reclaim Australia rallies but it is most likely that they will remain on the fringes of society. However, that they feel increasingly empowered by the silence of our national leaders is a very dangerous sign. Many of us remember the Pauline Hanson movement which made racists feel sufficiently empowered to verbally and physically assault non-Anglo immigrants and their families. That is a real danger for Muslims at present.

Victoria Police Victoria Police hosted its 10th Chief Commissioner’s Iftar dinner on 1 July to commemorate Ramadan together with representatives and leaders from Victoria’s Muslim and faith communities. Two hundred people attended the event, including more than 60 young people of Muslim faith, 50 police officers and employees, and Muslim and faith communities from across the state. Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton said he was proud the Iftar Dinner was his first official function as Chief Commissioner and greatly

valued the opportunity to acknowledge the Victorian Muslim community. “The Victoria Police Iftar dinner gives police a chance to show respect to the Islamic community whilst breaking fast and reflecting together,” he said. “Ramadan is also an opportunity for all of us, regardless of faith or background, to reflect and acknowledge the important contribution the Muslim community has made to Victoria.” The dinner provided Victoria Police members an opportunity to extend their own understanding of the Muslim faith and create networks amongst the community.

The Victoria Police Muslim Association (VPMA) hosted its inaugural Iftar Dinner on Wednesday night as a part of Ramadan to further strengthen relationships with police and Muslim communities. Two hundred people, including more than 55 police officers and employees, joined members of the Muslim community to celebrate Ramadan. Acting Deputy Commissioner Jack Blayney said Victoria Police was proud to attend and support members of the Muslim community. “We greatly value our relationship with the Muslim community and the opportunity to reflect and build a greater understanding of each other,” he said. “Ramadan provides a wonderful opportunity for police and members of the Islamic Community to break fast, share a meal, conversation and forge friendships.” This is the Victoria Police Muslim Association’s first Iftar Dinner since it was established in 2013. Sukkar said the VPMA was established to increase an understanding of the Muslim faith with police and to support stronger relationships between the Muslim community and police. “The Association aims to provide knowledge to police on issues relating to Islam and the diverse Muslim community whilst promoting engagement and dialogue between the Muslim community and police.” This event forms part of the Victoria Police’s annual calendar of community engagement events during Ramadan and presence at Iftar Dinners across the state. Media Release - 16 July 2015 The EFIC Forum held on 14 July at the International Chamber House (ICH) was the first collaborative Initiative to host jointly by five bilateral chambers of commerce and business councils. The five bilateral chambers of commerce and business councils are: •Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry Victoria • Australia China Business Council – Victoria • American Chamber of Commerce in Australia • German- Australia Chamber of Industry and Commerce • Australia Indonesia Business Council The Export Finance and Insurance Corporate (EFIC) Forum, was attended by 150 business people representing Victorian SME members and guests of the above organisations. The event was moderated by Ms. Shelley Jackson, State Director Austrade and opened by Ms Gonul Serbest, Executive Director Trade, State Government of Victoria, who leads the Victorian Government team facilitating exports through the development of trade strategies to key markets including: North Asia, South East Asia, India, the Middle East, Europe including the UK and the Americas. Ms. Serbest outlined the role of ICH in the Victorian Government’s engagement with international markets and the trade programs, which have supported Victorian companies into key international markets. The ICH is Victoria’s hub for bilateral chambers of commerce and business councils for the benefit of their members and facilitation of international trade and relations as well as closer working links with the Victorian Government, commonwealth government agencies such as Austrade and DFAT as well as local and international commercial organisations. Andrew Watson, Executive Director, Export Finance EFIC, outlined the benefits of policy changes including the types of funding products which have considerably improved EFIC’s capacity to support SMEs seeking to capitalise on global trade opportunities. The impact of enhanced access to funds by SMEs’ was illustrated by a case study of Gourmet Lovers, a Victorian small business, which was successful in securing working capital through EFIC funding and effectively launch into and compete across international markets. Other positive results for SMEs of the EFIC’s policy changes include reduced red tape requirements and processing time the funding

applications. Other presenters included Mr. Ron Collett, General Manager Victoria DB Schenker Australia Pty Ltd as well as Nick Fewster, Managing Director, Global Trade & Transactional Services, Commonwealth Bank who shared direct experience of working with EFIC and small businesses to provide working capital for a range of businesses in their efforts of successfully competing for international projects in expert services provision as well as exporting of Australian products. Mr. Ron Collett introduced the perspective of a global transport and logistics provider as critical part of the international trade equation. He elaborated on importance of understanding Incoterms and their financial implications to the exporter as well as on the important considerations when selecting a logistics partner (e.g. infrastructure, financial stability, experience, representation in destination country, reach - local, regional or global etc.). Following the presentations, Ms. Shelley Jackson led the panel discussions, which facilitated the opportunity for a lively discussion between the audience and the presenters. At the conclusion of the formal part of the event, the speakers made themselves available to directly interact with the members of the five chambers and business councils over light lunch. In the past two years, the world has witnessed a growing refugee crisis. In 2013, for the first time since World War II, the number of those forcibly displaced from their homes exceeded 50 million. Millions more have since been displaced as a result of conflict and crises around the globe. SYRIA More than half of Syria’s population is displaced. Some four million women, men and children have fled the country and are refugees, making this one of the biggest refugee crises in history. The vast majority -95% -are living in the countries neighbouring Syria. In one country -Lebanon -Syrian refugees now account for one in every five people. Despite the huge influx of refugees, the host countries have received almost no meaningful international support. The UN’s humanitarian appeal for Syrian refugees was only 23% funded as of the 3 June 2015. Calls by the UN for the international community to resettle refugees from Syria have largely fallen on deaf ears. The total number of places offered to refugees from Syria is less than 90,000, only 2.2% of the refugees in the main host countries. AFRICA While Syria is the world’s biggest refugee crisis, it is by no means the only one. In Africa people fleeing conflict and persecution in countries like South Sudan, the Central African Republic (CAR), Nigeria and Burundi, have added hundreds of thousands to the long-standing refugee populations from countries such as Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). There are more than three million refugees in sub-Saharan Africa. Kenya is home to Dadaab -the world’s largest refugee camp, set up in 1991. Yet, the refugee situations in African countries receive little or no global attention -in 2013, less than 15,000 refugees from African countries were resettled and UN humanitarian appeals are severely underfunded. The South Sudan regional refugee response plan, for example, is only 11% fulfilled. THE TOLL InIn April 2015, more than 1,000 people died in the space of ten days while attempting to cross the Mediterranean. As of 31 May 2015, the number of people who drowned making the boat journey from North Africa stood at 1,865, compared to 425 deaths recorded during the same period in 2014. The dramatic increase in the number of lives lost in the Mediterranean in 2015 is partly due to the decision by Italy and the European Union (EU) to end the Italian navy operation Mare Nostrum at the end of 2014 and replace it with a much more limited EU operation. In South East Asia in May 2015 the world witnessed harrowing scenes as fishing boats crammed with refugees and migrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh were pushed back to sea by Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Desperate children, men and women were left without food, water and medical care for a week, before the Philippines and later Indonesia and Malaysia offered to take them in. SUGGESTED MEASURES Amnesty International believes that a paradigm shift on refugee protection must include eight key actions by the international community: • An international summit on the global refugee crisis focused on increasing international responsibility and burden sharing; • Global ratification of the Refugee Convention; • Develop robust domestic refugee systems: states must have fair domestic procedures to assess refugee claims and must guarantee fundamental rights and access to services, such as education and healthcare, to refugees; • An absolute commitment to saving lives first: states must prioritise saving people in distress over implementing immigration policies. In situations where people are in danger of death, including – but not limited to – people attempting sea crossings, states should invest in search and rescue operations and immediately come to the rescue of people in distress. This imperative should never be trumped by any border control objectives; • Combat trafficking: states must take effective action to investigate and prosecute trafficking gangs. States should offer protection and assistance to victims of trafficking and ensure they have access to refugee status determination procedures and/or resettlement opportunities; • Fulfil all resettlement needs identified by UNHCR: nearly one million resettlement and humanitarian admission places are required for refugees who need resettlement and this number will increase every year. Amnesty International estimates that, 300,000 annual resettlement and humanitarian admission places will be needed every year over the next four years; • Combat xenophobia: governments must refrain from engaging in xenophobia themselves, for example by implying or directly claiming asylum-seekers and migrants are to blame for economic and social problems. Governments must also have effective policies to address xenophobic violence; • Establish a global refugee fund: such a fund should fulfil all UN humanitarian appeals for refugee crises. This fund should also provide meaningful financial support to countries hosting large numbers of refugees to help them provide services to refugees and their host communities. The Fact Behind The Halal Slaughtering In Scientific Way

By Dr Rateb Jneid Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. The opposite of halal is haram which means unlawful or prohibited. Studies have shown that halal slaughter protects consumers from many diseases which are not possible in the conventional methods used in many countries. The way the slaughtering process is carried out is of significant importance for both human health and safety, as well as the quality of the meat. The undrained blood that contaminates the meat makes it haram. As a result of chopping the head completely the connection between the brain and the heart is lost hence the heart stop pumping/beating almost instantaneously

therefore there is no driving force to push the blood out of the body, leaving the blood stagnates in the veins and arteries which contaminates the meat. Scientifically it is proven that blood is one of the best culture mediums to grow bacteria. Consuming meat-contaminated with blood makes humans more vulnerable to infections and joint pains. Joint pains come because of high uric acid levels in blood. In the halal method of slaughter the head is not chopped off because the blood has to be drained completely before the head is removed. Instead we cut the main vein (jugular vein) in the neck first. This vein contains venous blood in high pressure and it directly connects to the atrium of the heart without any interference. This method of slaughtering preserves the connection between the brain and the heart which allows neural transmissions to be delivered. This keeps the heart pumping/beating until all the blood is drained off completely from every vein and artery in the body making the meat pure and thus prevents growth and multiplication of harmful micro-organisms. Therefore the halal way of slaughtering is more

hygienic as most of the blood containing germs, bacteria, toxins, etc. that are the cause of several diseases are eliminated. Meat slaughtered by the halal way remains fresh for a longer time due to deficiency of blood in the meat as compared to other methods of slaughtering. These findings were confirmed by a research team from the Hannover University in Germany who examined the halal method of slaughtering, which involved a swift deep incision with a sharp knife on the neck from the jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides with the trachea and oesophagus while leaving the spinal cord intact compared with Western method stunning using a captive pistol method before slaughtering, using a EEG and ECG (where electrodes were surgically implanted to various parts of the skull) allowing to monitor the brain and heart throughout. The Halal method of slaughtering showed there was no change in the EEG for the first three seconds indicating that the animal did not feel any pain from the cut itself and the following three seconds were characterised like deep sleep. The EEG

recording was zero reading with no pain at all yet at that moment the heart was still beating and the body was convulsing vigorously as a reflex reaction of the spinal cord. It is this phase which is unpleasant to the onlookers, who are falsely convinced that the animal suffers whilst the brain does not longer records any message. Using the Western method of slaughtering the animals were apparently unconscious after stunning and appeared much more peaceful for the onlookers. However the EEG readings indicated severe pain immediately after stunning even though there were no unsightly convulsions. First there was stoppage of the heart whilst the animal still feels pain. With the halal method the animal ceased to feel any pain due to the brain starvation of blood and oxygen (brain death). In conclusion, it is safe to say that while some people might feel that halal could be threatening to their way of life, it is actually designed and executed in a way that is meant to be the most hygienic for the people consuming the meat and the least painful for the animal.

A Sister, A Sundress, A Life Lesson By Jamilah Samian The As a student in America years ago, I met and made friends with a number of Muslims from countries across the world. Some were born Muslims, some new Muslims. I particularly remember a new Muslim sister who I shall call Aisha (not her real name). At our first meeting, she was dressed in a hijab, modest blouse and pants. A regular visitor to the community masjid, I soon got to know Aisha quite well. I learnt that she was the first person in her family to become Muslim. One day, the masjid we frequented asked for volunteers to spare some time to help spruce it up in preparation for Eid-ul-Fitr. Much as I disliked cleaning, I realized it would not be fair for me to opt out. Spring cleaning morning came. As I opened the door to the sisters’ area of the masjid, I heard the vigorous scrubbing of the toilet. The toilet door was slightly ajar, so I took a peek and saw Aisha fast at work. Her sleeves rolled up, she was so focused, attacking a badly stained spot of the toilet with much gusto, she didn’t notice me at all. “Thank you for washing the toilet,” I said to her a while later, as we were taking a break. At that point, I wondered how a person could so willingly spend energy and time on yucky stuff that wasn’t hers. Yours truly had deliberately turned up a bit late, so the yucky stuff would have been dealt with by someone else by the time I arrived. She seemed to have read my mind, for the next thing she said was,

“Everyone was doing their job. It so happened I got the toilet.” As we sat together, she revealed a bit more of herself. She told me how she became drawn to Islam, her family’s initial response (shocked) and her experience living alone. Nothing new there. Then she said something that surprised me. “When I first became a Muslim, I still wore a sundress.” “What’s that?” I asked. I had no idea what she meant. “A sundress is a light, short, sleeveless dress, with a wide neckline and thin shoulder straps,” she said, gesturing at her shoulders and neck. In my idealistic world back then, I imagined new Muslim sisters to have explored, learned, and understood everything considered “basic” in Islam, and to practice it from day one. I found it hard to imagine the modestly dressed young woman in front of me wrapped in a revealing sundress. She laughed when she saw the look of incredulity on my face. “Over time, the hem grew longer and longer,” she said. She took time to strengthen her faith with each passing day, and with it, her attire evolved into one quite different from what she grew up with. I imagined Aisha’s early days of being Muslim, soon after taking the shahadah, walking the streets in her sundress. I wondered what went through people’s minds when they saw the narrow straps on her bare shoulders and her short short dress. She might have encountered a Muslim or two, who dismissed her as “one of those women”. How easy for us to judge people, when we know so little or nothing about them. When we have little idea of what they are going through, their day-to-day struggles to adjust as new Muslims.

It’s not just about new Muslims. I know of born Muslim women whose standard attire reveal way more than necessary. I wonder if those people who throw glances or derogratory remarks at these women ever gave a thought of the kind of life journey these women have been through or are going through. Just because you are a born Muslim, doesn’t mean you have been brought up as one. I know of one particular sister, a born Muslim, whose favourite attire was a sleeveless shirt and super short shorts. It took her many long years to change. But change she did. Time and again, my husband and I would invite new Muslims to our home. The kids know our humble abode doesn’t have to look like a showcase to receive and welcome visitors. We think it is important that the children see and hear the kind of conversations we have with new Muslims, to appreciate the issues the new Muslims face. At the very least, it helps our kids take their faith a little less for granted. Several weeks ago it was an Irish guy. This week a South Korean married to a local woman will be our special guests. Hearing their true stories is an eye-opener, an inspiration. Just like reading books of far-off lands help us see and hear experiences that might be beyond us first-hand, listening to these new Muslims lift our spirits and create a-ha moments that would not have existed otherwise. This month’s Legal Corner will be looking at a legal case about a dog. This case went to the highest court in the land, which is saying something indeed! The legal point about the case was about apprehended bias in a decision. The High Court focused on the issue of apprehended bias arising from an ‘incompatibility of roles’ between a prosecutor and a decision-maker, which in English means that it would not seem fair if the same person was ‘judge, jury and executioner’. Now, the facts. In August 2012, two dogs, one of which was Izzy, a four-year-old Staffordshire terrier, were being taken for a walk by their respective owners. Upon crossing each other, the dogs got into a fight. When one of the owners, of the other dog, put her hand into the canine malaise she ended up with a 1.5 centimeter scratch that needed a Band-Aid. In September 2013, Izzy’s owner Ms Isbester pleaded guilty to charges of her dog causing ‘serious injury’ at Ringwood Magistrates Court but the local council, the City of Knox, did not apply for a destruction order on Izzy from the magistrate at that time. Sadly, for Izzy, the City of Knox council then ordered Izzy to be destroyed. After losing a bid to save Izzy’s life in the Victorian Court of Appeal, Izzy’s owner took her fight to the High Court of Australia claiming her dog had not been given a fair trial. The basis for the appeal was that during the Council panel hearing, which took place on 30 September, 2013, at Knox Civil Centre, one of the people on the panel was the same council officer who brought the charges against Izzy’s owner Ms Isbester. Specifically, the council officer responsible for investigating the original incident and prosecuting the charge in the Magistrates’ Court was also involved in the committee’s decision on the fate of the dog. For Izzy, this gave rise to a real question of apprehended bias. How can you prosecute and judge over the same case? Seems unfair doesn’t it? The High Court unanimously allowed an appeal from a decision of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria. The High Court held that the decisionmaking process used by the respondent’s delegate in exercising power under The author with Working s 84P(e) of the Domestic Guide Dog Xeres, during ANIC Imam’s Training by Guide Dogs Animals Act 1994 (Vic) (“the Act”) was contrary to Australia 2009 natural justice because a fair-minded observer might reasonably apprehend that a person who took part in the decisionmaking might not have brought an impartial mind to the decision to destroy the appellant’s dog, because her role in the Magistrates’ Court proceedings gave her an interest that was incompatible with her involvement in the decision‑making process of the panel. The Court found that natural justice required that she not participate in making the decision, and that the decision must therefore be quashed. To date the City of Knox council has spent two years and $600,000 of tax payer’s money trying to have Izzy destroyed. Sadly, for Izzy and, who has been detained by the RSPCA for the past two years, despite the High Court victory, was not immediately released into Ms Isbester’s care. Langford Islamic College Special Ramadan Assembly 2015 Alhamdulillah, Langford Islamic College graced the blessed month of Ramadan with exceptional displays from each class and a beautiful Ramadan Assembly organised by the Islamic Studies Department. Students and teachers worked exceptionally hard to produce the amazing displays depicting the essence and various aspects of Ramadan. These displays were exhibited in our Multi-purpose hall for parents and the community to view. The outstanding Ramadan displays entailing creative thinking and great artistic expressions were admired by all. The Special Ramadan assembly featured beautiful Quran recitation, inspiring performances depicting the values of Ramadan and informative speeches. Certificates were also presented to the Mu’min of the Month from each class. We now look forward to Langford Islamic College’s massive Community Iftaar to be held on Saturday, 11 th July 2015 as well as the annual Ramadan lecture delivered by the Head of Islamic Studies & Asst Principal, Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim prior to the Community Iftaar. Reclaim Australia rallies July 2015

By Bilal Cleland The early on, established organisations to combat bigotry and anti-Muslim activists. After the upsurge of hatred directed at Muslims in general after 11September 2001, friends of religious toleration and freedom in Britain made an effort to combat the hatred. One major organization was FAIR [Forum against Islamophobia and Racism]. Dr. Jeremy Henzell-Thomas, Chairman of Forum against Islamophobia and Racism gave a paper “The Language of Islamophobia” at the University of Westminster School of Law, London, on 29 September 2001. He asserted: “…it is only one step from an assertion of national or cultural pride and self-glorification to feelings of superiority, derogation and finally the marginalisation and exclusion of the Others”. And indeed, I would add not only marginalisation and exclusion, but ultimately persecution and genocide. We can go directly here to Islamophobic discourse…A classic example is the shaping by Serbian orientalists of a “stereotypical image of Muslims as alien, inferior and threatening” which “helped to create a condition of virtual paranoia among the Serbs”. [http:// www.themodernreligion.com/ assault/language.htm] This is exactly what is now happening in Australia with the Reclaim Australia rallies accompanied by the loud silence of the Abbott government in response to the hate speech. They have even permitted one of their members of parliament to speak at the rally in Mackay Queensland and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop, has refused to condemn her colleague’s decision to give credibility to these religious bigots. The attitudes of Reclaim Australia are clear, with some spelling mistakes, from their website: http://www.reclaim-australia. com/

We welcome to all who call Australia home to be at the rallies.Equality and tolerance of all races and religions— which includes Aussies and Christianity, our holidays and celebrations, Christmas and Easter and ANZAC day.Equality at law, no more “cultural considerations”. It is one law for all. • Food free of blessings, religious taxes or Islamic Sharia Law Certification (Halal) • Freedom of speech— “offence” is a concept derived from Islam and as such is alien to the

foundations of our legal system and our practice of democracy and needs removing. • Equality of gender—our women are equal. There can be no diminishing of legal rights forced segregation; female genital mutilation (FGM); Sex Trafficking (child brides); Wife beating because they are the ways of Islam. They have no place here in Australia. RECLAIM: locals. We love Australia, our Values and want our freedom back to be the “Australian”. This Rally is our Aussie way of being heard and calling a spade—a spade. And we want it to be peaceful.

WE are losing our democratic freedom to speak openly and honestly, we are losing our voice and our NATIONAL character. I am an Australian. If I say I love Australia and Australian values I am now labelled a “racist”. If I criticise Islam I am labelled both a “racist” and a “bigot”. Since when did speaking the truth about an ideology or practice become illegal in Australia. When did

we agree to stop called a spade—“a spade”? Political correctness cannot take the place of informed discussion or the Truth. Democracy requires open and free debate. 18C closes down my right to say the truth about Islam because the truth might offend Islam. Yet... We are not the terrorists. We are not the beheaders. We are not the bombers. Australia is a nation

of many people groups with the majority being caucasion and Christian. We have successfully embraced multi-ethnicity for decades...Yet, all of a sudden we have to make all these changes to the way we do “Australian” in order to cater to an minority who refuse to integrate anyway. If Islam cant’ cope with how we do “Australian” well then perhaps Islam needs to move along to somewhere where they are not so offended by the

While their supporters continually claim they are not against Islam, Reclaim’s website makes several derogatory references to Islam and Muslims in Australia. Their Facebook page attracts comments such as, “When the time finally comes to eradicate this evil all the islam [sic] appeasers should go with them.” Anne points out that the Reclaim Australia movement is “ the product of a rising and disturbing wave of rightwing extremism that bears many of the same hallmarks of other extremisms, both past and present. ……..the narrative that underscores Reclaim comprises five main points:

• We are engaged in a battle against an ideological enemy that seeks to destroy us • Protecting our way of life is the only way to ensure our survival • They are dangerous, threatening and morally corrupt • We are morally good • Our future depends on defeating them” This has all been seen before and it did not have a happy ending. Fascism, racism, religious bigotry have a very nasty history. It is to be hoped that incompetent and blinkered government does not encourage such developments. The statement of the Victorian Deputy Premier is to be applauded: “Our diversity is one of our state’s greatest strengths ... it’s up to all of us to protect our diversity, celebrate it, send a message to those very small number of people that the spreading of hatred, the spreading of bigotry, is simply not tolerated,” he said. [The Guardian 18 July] It is a pity that our Prime Minister cannot say the same.

On Thursday 25th June, 2015 McYess and Burc College hosted their Annual Ramadan Iftar at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Several notable guests attended the third iteration of this special event including the Minister for Multicultural Affairs - Zoe Bettison, the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary of Multicultural Affairs - Jing Lee, and the Deputy Lord Mayor of Adelaide - Houssam Abiad. Each delivered moving speeches acknowledging the importance of the month of Ramadan to the spiritual lives of the Muslim community. Mr Omer Atilla Ergi, General Manager of the Islamic Sciences and Research Academy (ISRA), delivered the keynote speech, outlining the key aspects and benefits of this holy month. The annual event brings together members of the Muslim community, government, law enforcement, Christian, Jewish and other faith groups and is designed to break down barriers and encourage greater awareness and understanding among Australia’s diverse community.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and is a time for deep reflection, renewal of pledges and an opportunity to cultivate faith. This day should be a new beginning in the spiritual and moral life of Muslims after the lessons acquired during the month of fasting. Eid-ul-Fitr is a day of victory for Muslims, having fulfilled their duties in many unique ways during the Holy Month of Ramadan. As we celebrate with our families and loved ones let us take a moment to reflect on the sad plight of millions of Muslims who have spent this Ramadan and now Eidul Fitr homeless, anxious and desperate. Let us pray for all people who are in any way afflicted with hardship or sorrow on this day. May Almighty Allah ease their pain and open the doors of His mercy to overcome. AFIC HISTORY In 1963 the Australian Muslim community adopted an organisational structure for the cause of Islam in Australia. At the grass roots level local Muslims formed Islamic Societies to serve their basic needs in terms of education and prayer facilities. The building of Mosques and providing religious education became the primary objective. The Islamic Councils of each State and Territory united to form State Islamic Councils representing their respective Muslim communities at the peak State level. At the national level the State and Territory Islamic Councils formed the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils Inc (AFIC), as the national umbrella organisation for Australian Muslims representing Islam and Muslims at a national and international level. AFIC has its head office in Sydney with branch offices in Melbourne. As a democratic organisation, AFIC holds Federal Council Meetings with all State and Territory affiliates quarterly and an Annual Congress with all State , Territory Councils and Societies participating. The AFIC Committee of Management is elected every three years by the Annual Congress.

Our Mission The mission of AFIC is to provide service to the community in a manner that is in accordance with the teachings of Islam and within the framework of Australian law. To advocate on behalf of the Muslim community on all such matters that will affect the community’s relevance, settlement and integration within Australian society. The main role of AFIC is to represent Islam and Muslims of Australia as one “Ummah” to the government and other bodies nationally and internationally. AFIC coordinates and provides resources for activities of its State Islamic Councils and member Islamic societies.

Horsham Mosque VIC ICV The ICV partnered with the the AFL (Australian Football League) to host its annual iftar dinner last

night. The iftar, now in its third year, played host to more than 200 people who attended the Richmond Football Club at Punt Rd Oval, including various dignitaries such as Hon. Minister Robin Scott, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Hon. Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Hon. Conchita Fierrvante Wells and AFL CEO Gillon

McLachlan. The night featured inspirational past and present AFL players, including Bachar Houli, Sadat Sir and Shaun Burgoyne. Bachar and Shaun both spoke about the importance of understanding how their high profile positions place them in the role as community leaders. However, it was a former football player in the local league, and now EDFL umpire Nadine Rabah who stole the show reflecting on her experience as a female in a traditionally male dominated sport. She spoke about the cultural pressure that was heaped on her family as

a female Muslim aspiring to play football and how the love of the game and support of her family were invaluable pillars in achieving her goals. To resounding cheers she said, “Being a female should not be a barrier for anything.” Bachar concluded proceedings by imploring people to get to know genuine Muslims and that they would see that within their nature they stand for kindness, love and peace. The AFL has been reaching out to Multicultural communities, in particular Muslim communities, via its Multicultural Programs.

ARMED ROBBERY – MELBOURNE CBD – TUESDAY, 9 JUNE 2015 Police are seeking to identify a man who allegedly committed an armed robbery and stole a taxi on Flinders Street in Melbourne’s CBD on Tuesday, 9 June 2015. The taxi driver parked his taxi outside a convenience store when a man allegedly threatened the driver with a metal implement before driving off in the taxi just before 5am. The taxi was recovered by Police on

He was captured from the taxi-on board camera. He is described as Middle Eastern or European in appearance, aged in his early to mid-20s, with short dark hair, and beard.

Lakemba’s Haldon Street lights up in Ramadan

Bringing the spirit of the holy month to life. By Mervet Mourad

Every Ramadan, Lakemba Mosque hosts thousands of Muslims for the special prayer known as the Taraweeh prayer. Following the prayer lead by Sheikh Yehia Safi, and just a short walk away, Muslims of all different cultures came together to enjoy a late night snack with family and friends. From boiled corn and fresh juices, to kebabs and camel burgers, Haldon Street had an endless variety to choose from. Dozens of stalls were lined up down the street, enticing the senses and creating a Middle Eastern feel. The smell of cumin and cardamon attracted customers to the Indian and Pakistani tables while the smell of mixed spices and meat pulled you to another direction. All in all the food was very impressive. Along with other snacks, I had the pleasure to grab a warm sahlab, which is a middle eastern style chai latte, it was perfect for the cold night. Even though the mercury was dropping, it didn’t stop the crowds from coming. Local shops such as clothing, gifts and books stores, as well as the pharmacies, groceries and restaurants were also kept open passed their normal trading hours to enjoy and participate in the Ramadan festivities. Gatherings like these during Ramadan were also a great opportunity for charity and dawah organisations to promote their cause and collect donations.

The Australian Muslim Women in Leadership Study Tour to Turkey 2015 “Read in the name of your Lord who created” “Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood” “Read, and your Lord is the most Generous” “Who taught by the pen” “Taught man that which he knew not.” (Holy Qur’an 96:1-5) ICV The Australian Muslim Women in Leadership Study Tour to Turkey is an ICV initiative in conjunction with the Turkish Ministry of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İsleri Baskanlıgı). Following the success of the brother’s program in 2014, 10 sisters from Victoria of diverse ethnic backgrounds, communities, career paths and age groups were selected to undergo the tour. The initial aim of the program was to assist in building bridges between the local TurkishMuslim communities and the wider multicultural Muslim communities; for better cultural understandings, learning of each other’s religious education standards and general community engagement. The broader aims of the tour was to learn more about how the Turkish Diyanet provides religious education,

its structures & resources, key educational institutions and a general understanding of Turkish culture, history and social dynamics. With its remarkable schedule, the program included visits to over 15 educational centres ranging from elementary short-course Quranic courses, Secondary Islamic Colleges (Imam Hatip), Ilahiyat (University School of Theology), Post Grad Research Centres, Libraries and Mufti institutions across three cities; namely, Istanbul, Bursa and Ankara. The group also had the opportunity to visit the Headquarters of The Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Ankara meeting with the Head of Foreign Affairs Ms Semanur Yuksel; followed by visiting the General Directorate of Social Assistance and meeting with a number of Family and Social Policy Specialists including the Head of Department Ms Banu Acun. The group met a number of prominent figures within Turkey namely, Diyanet Vice-President

Dr Ekrem Keles, Islamic Research Center (İSAM) Vice-President Dr Tuncay Basoglu, Haseki Director Dr Adil Bor, the Ankara University Theology Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Ünal, the Uludag University Theology Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Cetin, Mufti and Vaize of Kucukcekmece Dr Cemalettin Bal and Sr Aysen Koktas respectively, Mufti of Eyup and Kagithane Dr Muammer Aya and Mevlut Haliloglu, Mufti of Bursa Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Ay, Mufti Assistants Sr Gulsefa Uygur, Sr Sedanur Sezen and Bursa Vaize Sr Zeynep Orhan.
