‫لطالما كانت الكويت واح��ة وارف��ة لكل من‬ ‫يتفي�أ ب�ظ�لال�ه��ا‪ ،‬ك�ن��ا دول ��ة ف�ق�ي��رة يبحث‬ ‫�أجدادنا فيها عن لقمة العي�ش فيتح�صلون‬ ‫عليها ب�شق الأنف�س وكان النا�س �آن��ذاك را�ضين ب�أقدار‬ ‫اهلل ويحمدونه عليها‪ ،‬وك��ان التكافل االجتماعي منذ‬ ‫بدء ن�ش�أة الدولة من �أ�صول حياتنا‪ ،‬وكان الكويتيون وما‬ ‫زالوا م�ضرب الأمثال في �إغاثة الملهوف و�إعانة المحتاج‬ ‫وم�ساعدة المكروب‪ ،‬ثم فتح اهلل علينا كل �أبواب الرزق‬ ‫و�أ�صبحت الكويت بعد الفقر ال�شديد وال�ج��وع القاتل‬ ‫والعط�ش المهلك ي�أتيها رزقها رغد ًا من كل مكان‪ ،‬وعا�ش‬ ‫�أهلها بنعم عظيمة ال تعد وال تح�صى‪ ،‬و�شاء اهلل تعالى �أن‬ ‫يتقا�سم معنا لقمة العي�ش ال�شريفة �إخواننا الوافدون ممن‬ ‫تحتاج الكويت علمهم وخبراتهم وجهودهم للم�شاركة في‬ ‫بناء الدولة‪ ،‬فعملوا معنا كتف ًا �إلى كتف ويد ًا بيد‪� ،‬ساعدونا‬ ‫ف��ي ا��س�ت�خ��راج النفط م��ن ب��اط��ن الأع��م��ال‪ ،‬وخططوا‬

‫مدننا الحديثة و�أ�شادوا بنيانها و�شقوا طرقها‪ ،‬و�شغلوا‬ ‫محطات توليد الطاقة الكهربائية ومحطات تحلية المياه‬ ‫المالحة‪ ،‬وعالجنا �أطبا�ؤهم وعلمنا مدر�سوهم‪ ،‬وجمع‬ ‫قمامتنا عاملو نظافتهم‪ ،‬وعالج �صرفنا ال�صحي فنيوهم‬ ‫وا�ستوردنا الحبوب والفاكهة والغذاء من بلدانهم‪ ،‬ثم‬ ‫قا�سمونا الحزن والأل��م الحتالل بالدنا‪ ،‬ثم �شاطرونا‬ ‫فرحة التحرير وعودة الحق �إلى �أهله‪ ،‬ثم نتفاج�أ ب�أ�صوات‬ ‫ناعقة مرتفعة تطالب ب�إجالء الوافدين ومحاربتهم في‬ ‫�أ�سباب �أرزاقهم وت�أليب الغوغاء عليهم‪ ،‬وك�أنهم �أعدا�ؤنا‬ ‫ولي�سوا من �شاركونا بناء دولتنا حتى بلغنا ما بلغنا من‬ ‫الخير والرفعة والتطور‪.‬‬ ‫وفي مراجعة ب�سيطة لإح�صاءات الجهات المخت�صة‪،‬‬ ‫نجد �أن ع��دد الوافدين من العمالة المنزلية وم��ن في‬ ‫حكمهم ي�صل �إل��ى �أك�ث��ر م��ن مليون ون�صف المليون‬ ‫�شخ�ص‪ ،‬من �أ�صل مليونين و‪� 700‬ألف مقيم في الكويت‪،‬‬

‫�أي �أن نحو ثلثي الوافدين في خدمة منازل الكويتيين‪،‬‬ ‫وعدد المقيمين العرب العاملين في الوزارات والهيئات‬ ‫والم�ؤ�س�سات الحكومية ال ي�صل �إل��ى ‪� 60‬أل��ف واف��د‪،‬‬ ‫ويت�ضمن ذل��ك �أي �� �ض � ًا �شاغلي ال��وظ��ائ��ف ف��ي ال�سلك‬ ‫الق�ضائي والأط�ب��اء والمهند�سين و�أ�ساتذة الجامعات‬ ‫والمدر�سين وفنيي الطوارئ والم�سعفين وفنيي الم�صافي‬ ‫النفطية والم�سعفين و�شاغلي الوظائف المدنية في‬ ‫وزارات الدولة‪.‬‬ ‫ثم هناك العاملون في قطاع العمل الأهلي في الم�ست�شفيات‬ ‫الخا�صة والعيادات الطبية وال�شركات التجارية العامة‬ ‫ف��ي قطاعات الألب�سة وال �م��واد اال�ستهالكية و�شركات‬ ‫الخدمات الغذائية و�شركات النظافة و�شركات الدعم‬ ‫اللوج�ستي وكل ما يخدم الكويت و�أهلها‪.‬‬ ‫من العار على بع�ض النواب �أن يرفعوا عقيرتهم و�صوتهم‬ ‫الن�شاز لمحاربة ال��واف��د ف��ي ب��اب رزق ��ه‪ ،‬ومزاحمته‬

‫والت�ضييق عليه لطرده من الكويت التي يعتبر كثير منهم‬ ‫�أنها وطنه ومالذه وم�ستقر حياته‪.‬‬ ‫ومن العار الأكبر �أي�ض ًا �أن ت�ستجيب الحكومة لدعوات‬ ‫غربان ال�سوء من خالل فر�ض ر�سوم باهظة على مر�ضى‬ ‫الوافدين الذين ق�ضوا زهرة �شبابهم معنا ثم نريد �أن‬ ‫نتنكر لهم ونمنح مخالب المر�ض فر�صة نه�ش �أج�سادهم‬ ‫التي �أ�ضناها العمل لأجلنا‪.‬‬ ‫التاريخ �سيكتب ه��ذه المرحلة ب�م��داد قيح نتن �إن لم‬ ‫نتدارك �أنف�سنا ونقف في وجه من يريد لكويتنا ال�سوء‬ ‫وللمقيمين بين ظهرانينا الأ�سى والتعب والهم‪.‬‬ ‫الإن�صاف مطلوب والعدالة ميزان اهلل في الرحمة وكما‬ ‫تدين تدان «‪...‬وتلك الأيام نداولها بين النا�س» ونحن كما‬ ‫كل العقالء ال نريد �أن تتحول الكويت �إلى مجتمع تعاقدي‬ ‫بل نريدها مجتمع ًا تراحمي ًا كما كانت دوم ًا‪ ،‬فا�ستحقت‬ ‫رحمة اهلل لها و�إغداقه من النعم عليها‪.‬‬

‫اعتصام وسط بيروت للمطالبة‬

‫بالتعطيل الرسمي يوم الجمعة‬

‫ن � ّف��ذت ال�ل�ج�ن��ة المنبثقة من‬ ‫«حملة ن�صرة عطلة الجمعة»‬ ‫قبل ظهر الثالثاء‪ ،‬اعت�صام ًا‬ ‫�أمام مجل�س الن ّواب في �ساحة ريا�ض ال�صلح‪،‬‬ ‫تحت �شعار «التعطيل يوم الجمعة حق يجب‬ ‫�إق��راره»‪ ،‬وذلك للمطالبة بالتعطيل الكامل‬ ‫يوم الجمعة‪ ،‬ورف�ض ًا للقانون رقم ‪2017/46‬‬ ‫ف��ي ال �م��ادة ‪ 23‬المتعلقة ب�سل�سلة ال��رت��ب‬ ‫وال��روات��ب‪ ،‬التي �أق��رت العطلة الأ�سبوعية‬ ‫يومي ال�سبت والأح ��د‪ ،‬متجاهلة الح�ضور‬ ‫الإ�سالمي الأو�سع في لبنان الم�ؤيد لمطالبة‬ ‫مفتي الجمهورية ال�شيخ عبد اللطيف دريان‬ ‫بجعل يوم الجمعة يوم عطلة كاملة كما هو‬ ‫الحال في يوم الأحد‪.‬‬ ‫�شارك في االعت�صام النائبان عماد الحوت‬ ‫وخ��ال��د ال �� �ض��اه��ر وال �ع��دي��د م��ن ال�ه�ي�ئ��ات‬ ‫وال �ج �م �ع �ي��ات وال���ش�خ���ص�ي��ات ال�سيا�سية‬

‫واالجتماعية والدينية والتربوية‪ ،‬ا�ضافة‬ ‫ال��ى «هيئة علماء الم�سلمين» و«الجماعة‬ ‫اال��س�لام�ي��ة» وع ��دد م��ن ر�ؤ���س��اء البلديات‬ ‫ور�ؤ��س��اء اتحاد بلديات ومخاتير وفاعليات‬ ‫مدنية وعلماء من مختلف المناطق اللبنانية‪.‬‬ ‫وت� �ح� � ّدث ف��ي االع �ت �� �ص��ام ك��ل م ��ن‪ :‬ممثل‬ ‫«الجماعة اال�سالمية» النائب ال�سابق زهير‬ ‫العبيدي‪ ،‬رئي�س «هيئة علماء الم�سلمين»‬ ‫ال�شيخ احمد العمري‪ ،‬رئي�س دائ��رة اوقاف‬ ‫البقاع ال�شيخ محمد عبد الرحمن‪ ،‬رئي�س‬ ‫بلدية القرقف ال�شيخ يحيى الرفاعي ممث ًال‬ ‫بلديات ومخاتير وفاعليات محافظة عكار‪،‬‬ ‫فيما �ألقى قا�ضي �شحيم ال�شرعي ال�شيخ‬ ‫�أح �م��د دروي ����ش ال �ك��ردي ال�ب�ي��ان الختامي‬ ‫لالعت�صام‪.‬‬ ‫ وقال رئي�س «هيئة علماء الم�سلمين» ال�شيخ‬‫احمد العمري في كلمته‪�« :‬إن ي��وم الجمعة‬

‫�سورة من قر�آننا وعبادتنا وهو خير �أيامنا‪،‬‬ ‫اذا �أردتم عي�ش ًا م�شترك ًا يجب �إقرار التعطيل‬ ‫يوم الجمعة‪ ،‬وال نقبل بحل مجتز�أ بل نريده‬ ‫عطلة كاملة للقيام بواجباتنا الدينية على‬ ‫�أك �م��ل وج���ه»‪ ،‬م�ط��ال�ب� ًا «ج�م�ي��ع اللبنانيين‬ ‫بالوقوف بجانب هذا المطلب لأنه مطلب حق‬ ‫للم�سلمين الذين يعتبرون ال�شريحة الكبرى‬ ‫في الوطن»‪.‬‬ ‫ و�أك��د رئي�س دائ��رة �أوق��اف البقاع ال�شيخ‬‫محمد عبد الرحمن‪� ،‬أن «م�صلحتنا تكمن‬ ‫في المحافظة على وطننا و�أجيالنا و�أبنائنا‬ ‫الذين لن يدركوا معنى �صالة وخطبة الجمعة‬ ‫في حال بقي الحال كما ه��و»‪ ،‬الفت ًا الى �أن‬ ‫«من ال�ضروري �إق��رار التعطيل يوم الجمعة‬ ‫من �أجل المنا�صفة وال�شراكة الوطنية»‪.‬‬ ‫ من جهته‪� ،‬أكد رئي�س بلدية القرقف ال�شيخ‬‫يحيى الرفاعي ان هذه «الوقفة رمزية رف�ض ًا‬

‫للقانون رقم ‪ ،46‬وهي تعبير من كل المناطق‬ ‫اللبنانية على ان هذا القانون ظالم ولم يعط‬ ‫الم�سلمين الحق بالتعطيل‪ ،‬لأن��ه حق يجب‬ ‫�إق ��راره لمراعاة اكبر �شريحة في لبنان»‪،‬‬ ‫م�ؤكد ًا �أننا «نقف خلف دار الفتوى والمجل�س‬ ‫ال�شرعي الإ�سالمي الأعلى في هذا المطلب‪،‬‬ ‫وع�ل��ى جميع اللبنانيين دعمنا م��ن مبد�أ‬ ‫ال�شراكة الوطنية»‪.‬‬ ‫ وفي الختام‪� ،‬ألقى من�سق الحملة القا�ضي‬‫�أحمد دروي�ش الكردي بيان اللقاء وجاء فيه‪:‬‬ ‫«با�سم فاعليات م�سلمي لبنان نطلب من‬ ‫رئي�س مجل�س النواب نبيه بري وما يمثل‪ ،‬ومن‬ ‫كل النواب �أفراد ًا وكت ًال م�سلمين وم�سيحيين‪،‬‬ ‫�إقرار يوم الجمعة عطلة ر�سمية وطنية كيوم‬ ‫الأح��د‪ ..‬وكذلك اال�ستجابة لقرار المجل�س‬ ‫ال�شرعي الإ�سالمي الأعلى بوجوب عطلة يوم‬ ‫الجمعة كام ًال في كل الإدارات الحكومية‪،‬‬

‫تحقيق ًا لميثاقية العي�ش الم�شترك والم�ساواة‬ ‫والمنا�صفة بين �أبناء الوطن الواحد»‪.‬‬ ‫و�أكد البيان �أن «االعت�صام هو بداية التحرك‬ ‫ال�سلمي‪ ،‬ول��ه م��ا يتبعه حتى تحقيق هذا‬ ‫المطلب الحق الذي غفل عنه النواب خط�أً‪،‬‬ ‫ونطلب منهم الرجوع عن ذلك لأن الرجوع‬ ‫عن الخط�أ ف�ضيلة»‪.‬‬ ‫و�سلم المعت�صمون �إلى النائب عماد الحوت‪،‬‬ ‫عري�ضة موقّعة من فاعليات مختلف المناطق‬ ‫اللبنانية‪ ،‬موجهة الى رئي�س مجل�س النواب‬ ‫اللبناني وال �ن��واب‪ ،‬تطالبهم بالرجوع عن‬ ‫موقفهم واال�ستماع الى مطالب الجماهير‪.‬‬ ‫والحق ًا عقد النائب خالد ال�ضاهر م�ؤتمر ًا‬ ‫�صحفي ًا داخ ��ل مجل�س ال �ن��واب ج��دد فيه‬ ‫مطالبته «باعتبار ي��وم��ي الجمعة والأح��د‬ ‫عطلة ر�سمية في لبنان من �أجل الحفاظ على‬ ‫التنوع والتوازن»‪.‬‬

‫لقد �أقام الت�ضامن يوم ال�سبت‬ ‫الموافق ‪ 17/ 8 / 26‬معر�ض الكتاب االرتري‬ ‫ف��ي دورت��ه الخام�سة على ال�ت��وال��ي بمدينة‬ ‫ملبورن وقد توافد الح�ضور �أفرادا وجماعات‬ ‫م�صطحبين معهم فلذات �أكبادهم للم�شاركة‬ ‫�إحتفاءا بهذه المنا�سبة الكريمة متجولين‬ ‫فيها بين الكتب المعرو�ضة بين مت�صفح‬ ‫ومقتني‪ ،‬وق��د ا�ستهل البرنامج ب��آي��ات من‬ ‫الذكر الحكيم ثم كلمة لرئي�س الت�ضامن الأخ‬ ‫االمين عبداهلل رحب فيها بالح�ضور والقى‬ ‫ال�ضوء على �أهمية الم�شاركة الفعلية وحثهم‬ ‫على المواكبة وت�شجيع الإخوة الذين ت�صدر‬ ‫لهم م�ؤلفات �سواء �أكانت �أدبية �أو �سيا�سية‪،‬‬ ‫وبعدها تقدم الأخ عبد الوهاب حامد ملقيا‬ ‫محا�ضرته التي كانت تحت عنوان «م�ستقبل‬ ‫اللغة العربية ف��ي ارت��ري��ا» وق��د ت�ن��اول الأخ‬ ‫و�ضع اللغة في الداخل وما تعانيه من تهمي�ش‬ ‫واق�صاء ب�شكل ممنهج ومبرمج في الدوائر‬ ‫الحكومية وتفريغ اللغة العربية من �أي دور‬ ‫�أ�سا�سي وف�ع��ال ف��ي ال��داخ��ل وال�غ��اء دوره��ا‬ ‫وتحجيمه في المناهج التعليمية �إن وجد لكي‬ ‫يت�سنى للغة التجرنية الهيمنة الم�ؤثرة في كل‬ ‫مناحي الحياة والمعنى من كل هذا ال�سيناريو‬ ‫هو محاربة الدين اال�سالمي متمثال في اللغة‬ ‫كما تناول �شح اال��ص��دارات باللغة العربية‬

‫�إما ك�س ًال او عدم امكانية �سبل الإ�صدار‪ ،‬ثم‬ ‫عقبه الأ�ستاذ محمد نور �أحمد م�أمنا ومثمنا‬ ‫لما ذكره الأخ المحا�ضر وا�ضاف ان الطرح‬ ‫ال��ذي ت��م ف��ي المناهج التعليمية بتطوير‬ ‫اللهجات المحلية و�سبل تدري�سها كان الهدف‬ ‫منه هيمنة لغة التجرنية لممار�ستها حاليا في‬ ‫الدوائر الحكومية ولوجود كادر لها وكان هذا‬ ‫ما يهدف اليه ا�سيا�س �أفورقي و�سدنته ولكن‬ ‫ق��د ت��راج��ع بع�ض ممن ك��ان ي�سير م��ع ركب‬ ‫ا�سيا�س وم�ؤمنا بطرحه تراجع بع�ض منهم‬ ‫بالقول ان اللغتين الر�سميتين في البالد‬ ‫هما العربية والتجرنية ولكن ما هو �سائد‬ ‫في كل الدوائر الحكومية ينبي خالف ذلك‬ ‫وهذا التراجع هو �شكال تطرحه بع�ض القوى‬ ‫المعار�ضة في الخارج لي�س اال‪ .‬ثم تحدث‬ ‫الأ�ستاذ عبد الرحيم محمود ال��ذي تطرق‬ ‫الى ما كانت تطرحه الحكومة الإثيوبية �إبان‬ ‫حكمها لإرتريا بالرغم من انها لم تحابي‬ ‫بين اللغتين العربية والتجرنية وكان همها هو‬ ‫تعليم اللغة الأمهرية كلغة ر�سمية في البالد‬ ‫اال ان من كان ي�شغل في دوائر جهاز التربية‬ ‫والتعليم من �أبناء المرتفعات انحازوا الى‬ ‫لغتهم وتكفلوا بكادرها اال ان اللغة العربية‬ ‫لم تتمكن من هذا ويقول المتحدث بعد ان‬ ‫جاءتنا الأوام� ��ر ب�ح��رق الكتب ال�ت��ي كانت‬ ‫ت��در���س باللغة العربية قمنا بتوزيها الى‬ ‫�أول �ي��اء الأم ��ور علهم ي�ستفيدون منها في‬

‫تعليم �أبناءهم وهكذا ك��ان الأم��ر‪ ،‬وبعدها‬ ‫فتح باب لال�سئلة والمداخالت وكان من بين‬ ‫ه��ؤالء م�شاركة فعالة من ال�صوت الأن�سوي‬ ‫تحدثت الأخ ��ت ح �ن��ان‪ ،‬دع��ت فيه الإخ ��وة‬ ‫الح�ضور للإهتمام باللغتين وتدري�سهما‬ ‫واقامة مدر�سة �إرترية موحدة تدر�س فيها‬ ‫ك��ل ال�م�ن��اه��ج التعليمية ب�م��ا فيها ال��دي��ن‬ ‫اال�سالمي‪ ،‬وبعدها تناول ال�سادة الح�ضور‬ ‫وجبة ع�شاء خفيفة ثم كانت الكلمة للأخ‬ ‫الأ�ستاذ خالد �سعيد علي المر�شد التعليمي‬ ‫التي ج��اء فيها االهتمام بالم�ستوى العام‬ ‫التعليمي للطالب من �أولياء الأمور ال �سيما‬ ‫في المواد العلمية كالريا�ضيات والقراءة لكي‬ ‫ين�ش�ؤا عليها ويتولد فيهم حب االطالع مما‬ ‫يعينهم ويرفع م�ستواهم الثقافي والعلمي في‬ ‫الم�ستقبل وقد �شارك �أحفاد عواتي في هذه‬ ‫التظاهرة الثقافية‪ ،‬فقد قدمت الإبنة �شيراز‬ ‫�إدري�س عثمان �أ�سناي �أبياتا من ال�شعر باللغة‬ ‫الإنجليزية كما عقبتها الإبنة عبير �صالح‬ ‫يعقوب بتلخي�ص لكتاب كانت قد قر�أته ثم تم‬ ‫توزيع بع�ض الهدايا للح�ضور الم�شارك لكل‬ ‫من الأخ المحا�ضر عبد الوهاب حامد والأخ‬ ‫المر�شد التعليمي خالد �سعيد علي والإبنتان‬ ‫�شيراز وعبير وبذلك يكون قد و�صل الحفل‬ ‫الى نهايته الى ان يتم اللقاء في العام القادم‬ ‫في دورته ال�ساد�سة تحت م�شيئة اهلل وعونه‪.‬‬

‫ف��ازت المواطنة اال�سترالية م��ن ا�صول‬ ‫عربية ناديا �صالح بانتخابات مجل�س مدينة “كانتربري‬ ‫بانك�ستاون‪ ،‬جنوب غرب مدينة “�سيدني”؛ اال�سترالية‬ ‫لت ُكون �أول م�سلمة تدخل مجال�س الحكومات المحلية‬ ‫المننتخبة م��ن المواطنين با�ستراليا وه��ي ترتدي‬ ‫الحجاب‪ ،‬و�سط دع��وات م��ن برلمانيين ومجموعات‬ ‫عن�صرية ا�سترالية لحظر الحجاب ومنع دخول المجبات‬ ‫والمنقبات للم�ؤ�س�سات والمراكز العامة‪.‬‬ ‫وتم انتخاب ال�سيدة �صالح لهذا المن�صب خلفا لزوجها‬ ‫نائب رئي�س مجل�س بلدية كانتربري في �سيدني خ�ضر‬ ‫�صالح الذي �شغل من�صبه لثالثة دورات متتالية الكثر‬ ‫من ‪ 13‬عاما والذي كان بدوره اول م�سلم وعربي يفوز‬ ‫باالنتخابات في هذه الدائرة والذي تولى قيادة الحملة‬ ‫االنتخابية لحزب العمال اال�سترالي الحاكم في هذه‬ ‫الدائرة لالئحة جميع اع�ضائها من الم�سلمين في هذه‬ ‫الدائرة التي ت�ضم اكثر من ‪ 160‬الف ناخب ا�سترالي‪.‬‬ ‫ال�سيدة �صالح �أم لأرب �ع��ة �أب �ن��اء م��ن بينهم الداعية‬ ‫اال�سالمي اال�سترالي المعروف كمال �صالح وكانت تعمل‬ ‫مديرة لمركزً ا اجتماع ًّيا لخدمات العائلة في المدينة‬ ‫قبل فوزها في االنتخابات الأخيرة؛ لتكون واح��دة من‬ ‫ثالثة مر�شحين م�سلمين تم انتخابهم في المجل�س‬ ‫البلدي لمدينة كانتربري بانك�ستاون التي تعتبر من‬ ‫اكبر البلديات با�ستراليا ويبلغ عدد �سكانها ما يقارب‬ ‫ال ن�صف مليون �شخ�ص وي�شكل الم�سلمون ن�سبة كبيرة‬ ‫من �سكانها ‪.‬‬ ‫ويقول خ�ضر �صالح الذي قاد الحملة االنتخابية لحزب‬ ‫العمال في هذه الدائرة ‪ ،‬ان فوز المر�شحين الم�سلمين‬ ‫ج��اء ب�ع��د ال�ح�م�ل��ة ال �ت��ي يخو�ضها ع��دد م��ن ال �ن��واب‬ ‫والبرلمانين واالحزاب اال�سترالية �ضد الم�سلمين والتي‬ ‫كان يفتر�ض �أن ت�شكل تهديدا كي ال ي�شارك الم�سلمون‬ ‫ف��ي االنتخابات وك��ي ال يعتبرون �أنف�سهم ج��زءا من‬ ‫النظام اال�سترالي‪ ،‬لكن كان لذلك مفعول عك�سي بفعل‬

‫�أف � � ��ادت � �ص �ح �ي �ف��ة “ذي‬ ‫تلغراف” ال�ب��ري�ط��ان�ي��ة ال �ث�لاث��اء ب ��أن‬ ‫�أ�ستراليا عر�ضت على الجئين من �أقلية‬ ‫الروهينغا يقيمون في مخيم ببابوا غينيا‬ ‫ال�ج��دي��دة ‪� 20‬أل ��ف دوالر مقابل ترك‬ ‫المخيم‪.‬‬ ‫ونقلت ال�صحيفة عن الجئين من �أقلية‬ ‫الروهينغا الم�سلمة‪ ،‬ف��روا من �أعمال‬ ‫عنف تمار�سها �سلطات ميانمار بحقهم‬ ‫وا�ستقروا في مخيم في جزيرة مانو�س‬ ‫ببابوا غينيا ال�ج��دي��دة‪� ،‬أن ال�سلطات‬ ‫الأ�سترالية عر�ضت عليهم ‪� 20‬ألف دوالر‬

‫في حال مغادرتهم المخيم �إلى ميانمار‪.‬‬ ‫وقال بع�ض الجئي الروهينغا لل�صحيفة‬ ‫�إنهم يف�ضلون الرجوع �إلى ميانمار‪.‬‬ ‫وتقدمت �أ�ستراليا بهذا االقتراح لالجئي‬ ‫الروهينغا بعد �إ�صدار المحكمة العليا‬ ‫في بابوا غينيا الجديدة العام الما�ضي‬ ‫قرارا يق�ضي ب�أن �إن�شاء هذا المخيم في‬ ‫البالد يعار�ض مبادئ د�ستورها‪.‬‬ ‫و�أع��رب��ت منظمات دول�ي��ة مختلفة عن‬ ‫قلقها �إزاء الظروف ال�سيئة في المخيم‪،‬‬ ‫غير المواتية للعي�ش‪ ،‬ب��الإ��ض��اف��ة �إل��ى‬ ‫حاالت انتهاك حقوق الإن�سان فيه‪.‬‬ ‫يذكر �أن والي��ة �أراك ��ان غربي ميانمار‬ ‫ت�شهد حاليا ه��روب��ا جماعيا لم�سلمي‬

‫ال��روه �ي �ن �غ��ا م �ن �ه��ا �إل � ��ى ب�ن�غ�لادي����ش‬ ‫ال �م �ج��اورة‪ ،‬بعد �شن �سلطات ال��والي��ة‬ ‫�أعمال عنف �ضدهم‪ .‬وح�سب معطيات‬ ‫للأمم المتحدة‪ ،‬فقد هرب من ميانمار‬ ‫منذ �أواخر �أغ�سط�س‪�/‬آب الما�ضي ‪400‬‬ ‫�ألف من الروهينغا‪.‬‬ ‫ي�شار �إل��ى �أن �أ�ستراليا وب��اب��وا غينيا‬ ‫الجديدة وقعتا عام ‪ 2013‬على اتفاقية‬ ‫ب�ش�أن توطين الجئين غير �شرعيين‪،‬‬ ‫ق��دم��وا �إل��ى ا�ستراليا ب�ح��را‪ ،‬ف��ي بابوا‬ ‫غينيا ال �ج��دي��دة‪ .‬ويقطن ف��ي جزيرة‬ ‫مانو�س حاليا ‪ 860‬الجئا‪ ،‬وفقا لإدارة‬ ‫الهجرة وحماية الحدود الأ�سترالية‪.‬‬

‫�أنها �أكملت تحقيقاتها‪.‬‬ ‫وك ��ان م �� �س ��ؤول��ون ف��ي الجي�ش �أح��ال��وا‬ ‫ح ��ادث قطع الأي� ��دي قبل عامين �إل��ى‬ ‫ال�شرطة الفيدرالية الأ�سترالية‪ ،‬فيما‬ ‫�أثارت ت�سريبات حول الق�ضية في ذلك‬ ‫ال��وق��ت‪ ،‬نقا�شا ح��ادا ح��ول ممار�سات‬ ‫الجي�ش في �أفغان�ستان‪ .‬و�أ�شارت و�سائل‬ ‫�إعالم �أ�سترالية �إلى �أن التحقيق يتعلق‬ ‫بعملية م�شتركة بين الجنود الأ�ستراليين‬ ‫والأفغان في العام ‪ ،2013‬لتعقب م�سلحي‬ ‫طالبان في مقاطعة زابول‪.‬‬

‫وذك��رت هيئة الإذاع ��ة الأ�سترالية �أن‬ ‫ال �ج �ن��دي ق�ط��ع ي ��دي رج�ل�ي��ن ق�ت�لا في‬ ‫العملية‪ ،‬لإجراء اختبارات عليها الحقا‬ ‫لتحديد هويتهما‪ ،‬م�ضيفة �أن ذلك حدث‬ ‫ب�سبب “ا�شتداد المعركة”‪ ،‬متجاوزا‬ ‫الطريقة المعتادة ف��ي �أخ��ذ ب�صمات‬ ‫الأ��ص��اب��ع‪ .‬وكانت �أ�ستراليا �أعلنت في‬ ‫م��اي��و‪� /‬أي� ��ار ال�م��ا��ض��ي �أن �ه��ا �ستر�سل‬ ‫‪ 30‬م�ست�شارا ع�سكريا �إ��ض��اف�ي��ا �إل��ى‬ ‫�أفغان�ستان‪ ،‬ما يرفع تعداد ع�سكرييها‬ ‫هناك �إلى ‪.300‬‬

‫قصة اعتماد التقويم الهجري‬ ‫أحمد الجنابي‬

‫ال�ت�ق��وي��م ال �ه �ج��ري هو‬ ‫تقويم قمري ا�ستخدمه العرب قبل‬ ‫الإ�سالم بقرون‪ ،‬لكن �أ�سماء �أ�شهره‬ ‫وترتيبها تعددت ح�سب ما ر�أت��ه كل‬ ‫قبيلة‪.‬‬ ‫وق��د ت�سبب ذل��ك التباين بم�شاكل‬ ‫في توقيت الحج �إل��ى الكعبة‪ ،‬وهي‬ ‫ممار�سة كان العرب يحر�صون على‬ ‫القيام بها ب�شكل دوري‪ ،‬فتداعى‬ ‫زع�م��ا�ؤه��م لتوحيد �أ�سماء الأ�شهر‬ ‫العربية وترتيبها‪.‬‬ ‫احت�ضنت مكة ع��ام ‪ 412‬للميالد‬ ‫اجتماعا �ضم �سادة قبائل العرب‬ ‫لتوحيد �أ�سماء �أ�شهر التقويم‪ ،‬وعقد‬ ‫االج�ت�م��اع ف��ي ح�ي��اة ك�لاب ب��ن مرة‬ ‫خام�س جد للر�سول محمد �صلى اهلل‬ ‫عليه و�سلم‪..‬‬ ‫وي�ع�ت�م��د ال �ت �ق��وي��م ال �ع��رب��ي «ال ��ذي‬ ‫�أ�صبح فيما بعد التقويم الهجري‬ ‫الإ�سالمي» على حركة القمر‪ ،‬ولذلك‬ ‫ي�صنف على �أنه تقويم قمري‪.‬‬ ‫اعتمد الم�سلمون التقويم العربي‬ ‫ليكون تقويم ال��دول��ة الإ��س�لام�ي��ة‪،‬‬

‫ون �ظ��را الع�ت�م��اده ال�ه�ج��رة النبوية‬ ‫ال�شريفة بداية له فقد �سمي بالتقويم‬ ‫ال�ه�ج��ري‪ .‬وق��د اعتمد بعد �سنتين‬ ‫ون�صف ال�سنة من خالفة عمر بن‬ ‫الخطاب ر�ضي اهلل عنه‪ ،‬في ربيع‬ ‫الأول من عام ‪ 16‬للهجرة‪ ،‬وكان يوم‬ ‫‪ 1‬المحرم من عام ‪ 17‬للهجرة بداية‬ ‫�أول �سنة هجرية بعد اعتماد التقويم‬ ‫الهجري‪.‬‬ ‫وفيما يلي �شرح لمعاني �أ�سماء �أ�شهر‬ ‫التقويم الهجري‪:‬‬ ‫الح َرام) وهو‬ ‫المحرم‪( :‬ال ُم َح َّرم َ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫�أول ��ش�ه��ور ال�سنة ال�ه�ج��ري��ة وم��ن‬ ‫الأ�شهر الحرم‪�ُ :‬س ِّمي المح ّرم لأن‬ ‫العرب قبل الإ�سالم كانوا يح ّرمون‬ ‫القتال فيه‪.‬‬ ‫�صفر‪� :‬سمي �صف ًرا لأن ديار العرب‬ ‫كانت ت�صفر �أي تخلو من �أهلها فيه‬ ‫للحرب وقيل لأن العرب كانوا يغزون‬ ‫فيه القبائل فيتركون من لقوا �صفر‬ ‫المتاع‪.‬‬ ‫رب��ي��ع الأول‪�� :‬س�م��ي ب��ذل��ك لأن‬ ‫ت�سميته جاءت في الربيع فلزمه ذلك‬

‫عاشوراء في اإلسالم‬ ‫حين جاء الإ�سالم‪ ،‬وهاجر ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‬ ‫�إلى المدينة ور�أى اليهود ي�صومون هذا اليوم فرح ًا بنجاة‬ ‫مو�سى قال‪�« :‬أنا �أحق بمو�سى منكم» ف�صامه و�أمر ب�صيامه‪.‬‬ ‫متفق عليه‪ .‬وكان ذلك في �أول ال�سنة الثانية‪ ،‬فكان �صيامه واجب ًا فلما‬ ‫فر�ض رم�ضان فو�ض الأمر في �صومه �إلى التطوع ‪ ،‬و�إذا علمنا �أن �صوم‬ ‫رم�ضان في ال�سنة الثانية للهجرة تبين لنا �أن الأمر ب�صوم عا�شوراء وجوب ًا‬ ‫لم يقع �إال في عام واحـد‪ ،‬تقول عائ�شة ر�ضي اهلل عنها‪« :‬فلما قدم �صلى‬ ‫اهلل عليه و�سلم المدينة �صامه ‪�-‬أي عا�شوراء‪ -‬و�أمر ب�صيامه‪ ،‬فلما فر�ض‬ ‫رم�ضان ترك يوم عا�شوراء‪ ،‬فمن �شاء �صامه ومن �شاء تركه»‪ ،‬البخاري‪.‬‬ ‫ف�ضائل يوم عا�شوراء‬ ‫‪� -1‬صيامه يكفر ال�سنة الما�ضية‪ :‬ففي �صحيح م�سلم �أن رجال �س�أل ر�سول‬ ‫اهلل عن �صيام عا�شوراء فقال‪�« :‬أحت�سب على اهلل �أن يكفر ال�سنة التي‬ ‫قبله»‪ .‬تحري الر�سول �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم �صيام هذا اليوم‪ :‬روى ابن‬ ‫عبا�س قال‪« :‬ما ر�أيت النبي يتحرى �صوم يوم ف�ضله على غيره �إال هذا‬ ‫اليوم يوم عا�شوراء»‪ ،‬البخاري‪ .‬وعنه ر�ضي اهلل عنه قال‪ :‬قال ر�سول اهلل‬ ‫�صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‪« :‬لي�س ليوم ف�ضل على يوم في ال�صيام �إال �شهر‬ ‫رم�ضان ويوم عا�شوراء»‪ ،‬رواه الطبراني في الكبير ب�سند رجاله ثقات‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -2‬وقوع هذا اليوم في �شهر اهلل المحرم الذي ي�سن �صيامه‪ :‬عن �أبي‬ ‫هريرة ر�ضي اهلل عنه قال‪ :‬قال ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‪�« :‬أف�ضل‬ ‫ال�صيام بعد �صيام رم�ضان �شهر اهلل المحرم»‪ ،‬الترمذي وقال‪ :‬حديث‬ ‫ح�سن‪.‬‬ ‫وقد كان ال�صحابة ر�ضي اهلل عنهم ي�صومون فيه �صبيانهم تعويد ًا لهم‬ ‫على الف�ضل فعن الربيع بنت معوذ قالت �أر�سل النبي �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‬ ‫غداة عا�شوراء �إلى قرى الأن�صار‪« :‬من �أ�صبح مفطر ًا فليتم بقية يومه‪،‬‬ ‫ومن �أ�صبح �صائم ًا فلي�صم» قالت‪ :‬فكنا ن�صومه بعد ون�صوم �صبياننا‬ ‫ونجعل لهم اللعبة من العهن‪ ،‬ف�إذا بكى �أحدهم على الطعام �أعطيناه‬ ‫ذاك حتى يكون عند الإفطار‪ ،‬البخاري‪ .‬وال�سنة في �صوم هذا اليوم �أن‬ ‫ي�صوم يوم ًا قبله �أو بعده‪ ،‬لقول ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‪« :‬لئن‬ ‫بقيت �إلى قابل لأ�صومن التا�سع‪ ،‬م�سلم‪.‬‬ ‫وقد ذكر ابن القيم في زاد المعاد (‪� )76/2‬أن �صيام عا�شوراء ثالث‬ ‫مراتب‪:‬‬ ‫‪� -1‬صوم التا�سع والعا�شر والحادي ع�شر وهذا �أكملها‪.‬‬ ‫‪� -2‬صوم التا�سع والعا�شر وعليه �أكثر الأحاديث‪.‬‬ ‫‪� -3‬صوم العا�شر وحده‪ .‬وال يكره ـ على ال�صحيح ـ �إفراد اليوم العا�شر‬ ‫بال�صوم كما قاله ابن تيمية رحمه اهلل‪.‬‬ ‫بدع عا�شوراء‬ ‫و�أم��ا ما ورد في بع�ض الأحاديث من ا�ستحباب االخت�ضاب واالغت�سال‬

‫والتو�سعة على العيال في يوم عا�شوراء فكل ذلك لم ي�صح منه �شيء‪ ،‬قال‬ ‫حرب‪� :‬س�ألت �أحمد عن الحديث الذي جاء في من و�سع على �أهله يوم‬ ‫عا�شوراء فلم يره �شيئ ًا‪ .‬وقال ابن تيمية‪ :‬لم يرد في ذلك حديث �صحيح‬ ‫عن النبي �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم وال عن �أ�صحابه وال ا�ستحب ذلك �أحد‬ ‫من �أئمة الم�سلمين‪.‬‬ ‫ح�صل فيه حدثان م�ؤثران اختلف النا�س ب�سببها في �أعمال هذا‬ ‫اليوم‪:‬‬ ‫ال�ح��دث الأول‪ :‬نجاة مو�سى عليه ال�سالم وقومه‪ ،‬و�إه�لاك‬ ‫فرعون وجنوده‪.‬‬ ‫روى البخاري‪ ،‬وم�سلم في �صحيحيهما واللفظ لم�سلم عن‬ ‫ابن عبا�س ر�ضي اهلل عنهما �أن ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل‬ ‫عليه و�سلم قدم المدينة فوجد اليهود �صيام ًا يوم‬ ‫عا�شوراء فقال لهم ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‪:‬‬ ‫«ما هذا اليوم الذي ت�صومونه؟» فقالوا‪ :‬هذا يوم‬ ‫عظيم �أن�ج��ى اهلل فيه مو�سى وق��وم��ه‪ ،‬و�أغ��رق‬ ‫فرعون وقومه‪ ،‬ف�صامه مو�سى �شكر ًا‪ ،‬فنحن‬ ‫ن�صومه‪ .‬فقال ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه‬ ‫و�سلم «فنحن �أحق و�أولى بمو�سى منكم»‪،‬‬ ‫ف�صامه ر�سول اهلل �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‬ ‫و�أمر ب�صيامه‪.‬‬ ‫ال�ح��دث ال�ث��ان��ي‪ :‬مقتل الح�سين بن‬ ‫علي بن �أبي طالب‪� ،‬سبط ر�سول اهلل‬ ‫�صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم‪ ،‬وك��ان ذلك‬ ‫في يوم الجمعة‪� ،‬سنة �إح��دى و�ستين‬ ‫بكربالء م��ن �أر� ��ض ال �ع��راق‪ ،‬ول��ه من‬ ‫العمر ثمان وخم�سون �سنة‪ ،‬وكان هذا‬ ‫من الم�صائب العظيمة على الأمة قال‬ ‫ابن تيمية رحمه اهلل‪ :‬وكان قتله ر�ضي‬ ‫اهلل عنه من الم�صائب العظيمة؛ ف�إن‬ ‫قتل الح�سين‪ ،‬وقتل عثمان قبله‪ :‬كانا‬ ‫من �أعظم �أ�سباب الفتن في هذه الأمة‬ ‫وقتلتهما من �شرار الخلق عند اهلل» وقد‬ ‫�أر�شد النبي �صلى اهلل عليه و�سلم ل�صيام‬ ‫هذا اليوم �شكر ًا هلل على نجاة مو�سى و�إهالك‬ ‫فرعون‪ ،‬وال عالقة ل�صيامه بمقتل الح�سين ر�ضي‬ ‫اهلل عنه �أبد ًا‪.‬‬ ‫الم�صدر‪ :‬موقع ق�صة اال�سالم‬

‫اال�سم‪.‬‬ ‫ربيع الآخر‪� :‬سمي بذلك لأنه تبع‬ ‫ال�شّ هر الم�س ّمى بربيع الأ ّول‪.‬‬ ‫ج��م��ادى الأول����ى‪ :‬ك��ان��ت ت�سمى‬ ‫قبل الإ�سالم با�سم جمادى خم�سة‪،‬‬ ‫و�سميت جمادى لوقوعها في ال�شتاء‬ ‫وقت الت�سمية حيث جمد الماء وهي‬ ‫م�ؤنثة اللفظ‪.‬‬ ‫جمادى الآخرة‪� :‬سمي َ‬ ‫بذلك لأنّه‬ ‫تبع ال�شّ هر الم�س ّمى بجمادى الأولى‪.‬‬ ‫رج��ب‪ :‬وه��و م��ن الأ��ش�ه��ر ال�ح��رم‪:‬‬ ‫�سمي رج ًبا لأنه من الأ�شهر الحرم‬ ‫وكانت العرب ترجب رماحها فيه �أي‬ ‫تنزع الن�صل من الرمح وتكف النا�س‬ ‫عن القتال‪ .‬وقيل‪ :‬رجب �أي التوقف‬ ‫عن القتال‪.‬‬ ‫�شعبان‪ :‬لأن���ه � ِ��ش�ع��ب ب�ي��ن رج��ب‬ ‫ورم���ض��ان‪ ،‬وقيل �سمي �شعبان لأن‬ ‫النا�س تتفرق فيه ويت�شعبون طلبا‬ ‫للماء‪ .‬وهناك ر�أي يقول �إن��ه ربما‬ ‫��س�م��ي ��ش�ع�ب��ان لأن ال��ع��رب ك��ان��وا‬ ‫يت�شعبون فيه ويفترقون للحرب بعد‬ ‫قعودهم عنها في �شهر رجب‪.‬‬ ‫رم�ضان‪ :‬وه��و �شهر ال� ّ���ص��وم عند‬ ‫الم�سلمين‪�ُ .‬س ّمي ب��ذل��ك لرمو�ض‬

‫الحر و�شدة وق��ع ال�شم�س فيه وقت‬ ‫ت�سميته‪ ،‬حيث ك��ان��ت الفترة التي‬ ‫�سمي فيها بذلك �شديدة الحر‪.‬‬ ‫�شوال‪ :‬وهو ال�شهر ال��ذي يقع فيه‬ ‫عيد الفطر‪ ،‬و�سمي بذلك ل�شوالن‬ ‫النوق فيه ب�أذنابها �إذا حملت «�أي‬ ‫هزلت وجف لبنها»‪ ،‬فيقال ت�ش َّولت‬ ‫وجف لبنها‪.‬‬ ‫الإبل‪� :‬إذا هزلت ّ‬ ‫ذو ال��ق��ع��دة‪ :‬وه ��و م��ن الأ� �ش �ه��ر‬ ‫ال�ح��رم‪� :‬سمي ذا القعدة لأن��ه �أول‬ ‫الأ�شهر الحرم وفيه تقعد النا�س عن‬ ‫الحرب‪.‬‬ ‫ذو الحجة‪ :‬وف�ي��ه مو�سم الحج‬ ‫وعيد الأ�ضحى ومن الأ�شهر الحرم‪،‬‬ ‫وق��د �سمي ب��ذل��ك لأن ال �ع��رب قبل‬ ‫الإ���س�ل�ام ي��ذه�ب��ون للحج ف��ي ه��ذا‬ ‫ال�شهر‪.‬‬ ‫ونظرا العتماد التقويم الهجري على‬ ‫حركة القمر‪ ،‬ف��إن ال�سنة الهجرية‬ ‫تتقدم كل عام ‪ 11‬يوما‪ ،‬لذلك ف�إن‬ ‫الأ�شهر الهجرية قد تقع في موا�سم‬ ‫تختلف عن الموا�سم التي �سميت بها‬ ‫وقت اعتمادها‪.‬‬ ‫الم�صدر‪:‬الجزيرة‬

‫‪ -1‬القدرة على الت�صويت‬ ‫الت�صويت في االنتخابات الفدرالية واي ا�ستفتاء يجري في البالد �إجباري‬ ‫على المواطنين فوق �سن الثامنة ع�شر‪ .‬وفي حال تخلف المواطنون عن‬ ‫الت�صويت لأ�سباب غير مقنعة ف�إن الغرامة المالية ت�صل �إلى ‪ 180‬دوالر‪.‬‬ ‫وتعتبر �أ�ستراليا من بين ‪ 12‬دولة �أخرى في العالم التي يعد االنتخاب فيها‬ ‫�إجباري ًا‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -2‬القدرة على االلتحاق بالحياة ال�سيا�سية‬ ‫�إذا كنتم من محبي الحياة ال�سيا�سية وااللتحاق بها‪ ،‬فب�إمكانكم �إذا كنتم‬ ‫مواطنين وفوق عمر ‪ 18‬الدخول في هذا المعترك والتر�شح للح�صول على‬ ‫من�صب في البلديات او البرلمان او مجل�س ال�شيوخ‪ ،‬ولكن قبل ذلك عليك‬ ‫الت�أكد من �أنك ال تحمل جن�سية غير اال�سترالية حيث يحظر الد�ستور‬ ‫اال�سترالي على حاملي الجن�سية المزدوجة التر�شح لالنتخابات‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -3‬القدرة على االلتحاق بالجي�ش‬ ‫الدوائر الحكومية الوحيدة التي ت�شترط على الملتحقين بها �أن يكونوا‬ ‫�أ�ستراليين‪ ،‬هي وزارة ال�ش�ؤون الخارجية والتجارة ودائرة �أمن الحدود‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -4‬االلتحاق بهيئة المحلفين‬ ‫االلتحاق بهيئة المحلفين في �أ�ستراليا تعد واجب ًا مدني ًا‪ ،‬حيث يتم اختيار‬ ‫اي مواطن �أ�سترالي لين�ضم �إلى هيئة المحلفين لال�ستماع �إلى واحدة من‬ ‫الق�ضايا واالدالء بالر�أي في ما يتعلق بالحكم‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -5‬الح�صول على جواز ال�سفر الأ�سترالي‬ ‫يمكنك الجواز اال�سترالي من دخول ‪ 170‬دولة دون الحاجة �إلى ت�أ�شيرة �سفر‪،‬‬ ‫ويعد جواز ال�سفر الأ�سترالي من بين �أف�ضل جوازات ال�سفر في العالم‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -6‬الح�صول على الم�ساعدة خارج البالد‬ ‫�إذا تورطت في م�شكلة خارج �أ�ستراليا او احتجت �إلى �أي م�ساعدة فب�إمكان‬ ‫خدمات الطوارئ اال�سترالية تقديمها لك ح�سب ظروفك ال�شخ�صية‪.‬‬ ‫(لالطالع على هذه الخدمة يمكنكم زيارة الموقع التالي‪:‬‬ ‫‪)Consular Emergency Centre‬‬ ‫وتقدم هذه الخدمة م�ساعدة في حاالت الكوارث الطبيعية او الحروب او‬ ‫في حال احتاج المواطن اال�سترالي خارج البالد �إلى عناية طبية معينة او‬ ‫م�ساعدة مادية‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -7‬منح �أطفالك الجن�سية الأ�سترالية‬ ‫�إذا ولد �أطفالك خارج �أ�ستراليا فب�إمكانك منحهم الجن�سية اال�سترالية عن‬ ‫طريق الوالدة كونك تحمل الجن�سية اال�سترالية و�سيحظون بنف�س الحقوق‬ ‫والواجبات ك�أي مواطن �أ�سترالي ولد داخل �أ�ستراليا‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -8‬الح�صول على قر�ض الـ ‪ HELP‬للتعليم الجامعي‬ ‫المواطن اال�سترالي ب�إمكانه الح�صول على قر�ض جامعي على ان يتم �سداده‬ ‫بعد ح�صوله على عمل‪ ،‬وهذا االمتياز ال يح�صل عليه �إال المواطنين‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -9‬فر�صة العي�ش في �أ�ستراليا للأبد‬ ‫�صحيح �أن المقيم الدائم ب�إمكانه العي�ش في �أ�ستراليا �إلى الأبد‪ ،‬ولكن في‬ ‫حال قرر ترك البالد والعودة الحق ًا فيتوجب عليه الح�صول على ت�أ�شيرة‬ ‫ت�سمى “عودة المقيم” كل ‪� 5‬سنوات‪ .‬وفي حال ارتكبوا جريمة معينة او لم‬ ‫تنطبق عليهم موا�صفات المواطن ال�صالخ فب�إمكان وزير الهجرة �سحب‬ ‫االقامة منهم‪.‬‬ ‫‪ -10‬االنتقال للعي�ش في نيوزيالندا‬ ‫يحق للمواطنين اال�ستراليين االنتقال للعي�ش ب�شكل دائم في نيوزيالندا في‬ ‫معظم الظروف‪.‬‬ ‫‪SBS‬‬

‫اكت�شف العلماء جرم ًا يدعى جرم ‪ 16B Luhman‬ويبعد عنا‬ ‫‪ 64‬تريليون كيلومتر‪ ،‬ميزة هذا الجرم �أن الغالف الجوي له‬ ‫مليء بعن�صر الحديد ال�سائل‪ ..‬هذا الحديد يتكثف مثل بخار‬ ‫الماء ثم ينزل على �شكل �أمطار حديدية!‬ ‫وت�شير نماذج الكمبيوتر التي �صممها العلماء �إلى �أنه حين يبرد‬ ‫القزم البني تت�شكل في غالفه الجوي قطرات تحوي حديد ًا‬ ‫ومعادن �أخرى‪ .‬ويقول العلماء �إن هذه القطرات تتجمع في �شكل‬ ‫�سحب ثم تمطر‪.‬‬ ‫والأق��زام البنية هي �أكبر من الكواكب التي في حجم كوكب‬ ‫الم�شترى‪ ،‬لكنها �أ�صغر من �أن يحدث فيها ان�صهار نووي‪ ،‬وهي‬ ‫عملية الزمة ليكت�سب النجم بريقه‪ .‬و ُيطلق على الأقزام البنية‬ ‫�أي�ض ًا ا�سم «نجوم فا�شلة» وهي تبد�أ دورتها الكونية �ساخنة تبعث‬ ‫�ضوءا خافت ًا‪ ،‬ثم تبرد تدريجي ًا‪.‬‬ ‫ت�صل درجة حرارة ال�سحب الحديدية �إلى ‪ 927‬درجة مئوية‪.‬‬ ‫واكت�شف العلماء حتى الآن ب�ضع مئات من الأق ��زام البنية‪.‬‬ ‫واخترع العلماء تقنية جديدة مكنتهم من ر�صد تغير درجة‬ ‫البريق على �سطح الجرم‪.‬‬ ‫وبعد هذا االكت�شاف المثير لالنتباه �أ�صبح �إنزال الحديد من‬ ‫ال�سماء على �شكل �أمطار وا�ستقراره وتجمده �ضمن كوكب ما‪...‬‬ ‫هذه العملية �أ�صبحت عادية ويتقبلها العلماء اليوم (‪)2014‬‬ ‫ولكن هذه الفكرة كانت مرفو�ضة قبل �سنوات قليلة‪.‬‬ ‫بكل ب�ساطة القر�آن �أخبر عن عملية �إنزال الحديد من ال�سماء‬ ‫�إل��ى الأر� ��ض‪ ،‬وا�ستغرب الكثيرون ه��ذه العملية واعتبروا �أن‬ ‫القر�آن كالم ب�شر‪� ،‬أو فيه خط�أ علمي‪ ..‬و�سبحان اهلل‪ ،‬ي�سخر‬ ‫اهلل علماء من غير الم�سلمين ليثبتوا لنا �إمكانية نزول الحديد‬ ‫من ال�سماء!‬ ‫َّا�س{‬ ‫يقول تعالى‪َ } :‬و�أَنْزَ ْلنَا ال َْح ِد َيد ِفي ِه َب ْ�أ ٌ�س �شَ ِدي ٌد َو َمنَا ِف ُع ِللن ِ‬ ‫الحديد‪ ...25 :‬فهذه الآية الكريمة ت�ؤكد �أن الحديد نزل �إلى‬ ‫الأر�ض ويقول العلماء �إن الأر�ض تعر�ضت خالل فترة ت�شكلها‬ ‫وعبر ماليين ال�سنين �إلى نزول الكثير من النيازك الحديدية‬ ‫التي �ضربت الأر���ض واخترقت طبقاتها وا�ستقرت في مركز‬ ‫الأر� ��ض‪ ،‬وذل��ك عندما كانت الأر� ��ض ك��رة ملتهبة ف��ي بداية‬ ‫ت�شكلها‪.‬‬ ‫فعن�صر الحديد ال يمكن �أن يت�شكل على الأر�ض لأن ذرة الحديد‬ ‫بحاجة لكمية هائلة من الطاقة حتى تت�شكل وهذه الطاقة ال‬ ‫تتوفر �إال في النجوم البعيدة‪� ..‬سبحان اهلل! وهكذا يتبين لنا‬ ‫دقة كلمات القر�آن‪ ،‬وهذا يدل على �أنه كتاب اهلل تعالى‪.‬‬

‫لم تح�سب المر�أة الأ�سترالية جينفير ت�شن‪،‬‬ ‫�أن �ه��ا �ستخ�سر ب�سبب طلب ��ص��داق��ة على‬ ‫“فاي�سبوك” كل ثروة عمرها التي جمعتها‪.‬‬ ‫ووف��ق �صحيفة “ديلي ميل” ف ��إن ت�شن‪ ،‬وقعت �ضحية‬ ‫“هاكرز افترا�ضيين‪ ،‬ا�ستغلوا جهل ال �م��ر�أة بعالم‬ ‫الإنترنت‪ ،‬وا�ستخدموا بياناتها ل�سرقتها‪.‬‬ ‫وذكرت ال�صحيفة‪� :‬إن المر�أة البالغة من العمر ‪ 61‬عاما‪،‬‬ ‫قبلت �إ�ضافة ح�ساب يدعى “دكتور فرانك هاري�سون”‪،‬‬ ‫ق��ال �إن��ه ج��راح عظام‪ ،‬من �أمريكا‪ ،‬وبعد ع��ام تكلفت‬ ‫ب�سبب هذه ال�صداقة االفترا�ضية ‪� 600‬ألف دوالر‪ ،‬وهو‬ ‫كل ما جمعته في عمرها‪.‬‬ ‫وتوا�صل هذا الح�ساب االفترا�ضي مع ت�شن‪ ،‬و�أكد لها �أنه‬

‫يفكر في االنتقال �ﻷ �ستراليا لبدء م�شروعه الخا�ص‪ ،‬و�أنه‬ ‫يريد �أن يقابلها ب�شكل �شخ�صي‪ .‬وتلقت ات�صاال الحقا منه‬ ‫يعلمها �أنه في ورطة في مطار كوالمبور‪ ،‬ب�سبب حيازته‬ ‫على مبلغ مليون ون�صف المليون دوال �أمريكي‪ ،‬وبعد‬ ‫ذلك ات�صلت امر�أة وتظاهرت ب�أنها تعمل في الجمارك‪،‬‬ ‫و�أقنعت ت�شن في النهاية ب�أن عليها دفع مبلغ العقوبة‪،‬‬ ‫المقدر بـ ‪ 3000‬دوالر‪ ،‬حتى يتم ا�ﻹفراج عن بقية �أمواله‪.‬‬ ‫ت�سارعت وتيرة الخداع‪ ،‬و�سرعان ما بد�أ المحتالون في‬ ‫طلب مبالغ مالية �أكبر‪ ،‬مع اختالق �أع��ذار �أكبر و�أ�شد‪.‬‬ ‫وفي غ�ضون ‪� 6‬أ�شهر‪ ،‬تمكن المحتالون من �إقناع ت�شن‬ ‫بدفع عدة دفعات مالية لأ�سباب مختلفة‪ ،‬و�صل عددها‬ ‫�إلى ‪ 33‬حوالة مالية‪.‬‬

A Working Mother’s Love Affair Jamilah Samian

Apart from handbags, shoes and accessories, women love three things: elegance, children, and work. Looking pretty is straightforward. Have enough sleep, eat well, have good thoughts, dress up, put on your best smile and voila!

You are ready for the world.

Striking a balance between family and work is not that simple. A woman arguably has most energy and the ability to grow, personally and professionally, before she hits forty.

Yet, for a working mother, within this period, family and work compete for her attention, time and energy.

But first, what does “work” mean?

Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. (peace be upon him) said, “The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind.” (Daraqutni, Hasan). Let us redefine “work” as “anything and everything that brings benefit to mankind”. I know of women who chose to stay home once children came into the picture. I also know of women deeply involved with unpaid work like volunteerism, on top of the official work that they do.

To each her own; no mother should be seen or judged as less successful regardless of her choice of “work”.

How does a mother strike a balance between her love for her family and her love for work, to bring most benefit to mankind?

Clarity of purpose. Be clear

why you do what you do. When the “why” is clear, the “how” becomes easier.

In difficult times, remind yourself why you are there in the first place. If you believe what you do has value and can change society in a meaningful way, you will find the strength to go on.

Be kind to yourself. Forget about serving humanity if your health is compromised. Prolonged high stress promotes modern illnesses, including cancer. Working mothers have a tendency to give it all in their pursuit of success, at times realizing too late that no one is a wonder woman. The first person a mother must look after is herself. Too little sleep once too often, no exercise, and eating the wrong kinds of food, can have long-term adverse effects on your life.

A big heart. Think beyond standard options. Find unconventional ways to resolve and overcome problems. What works for another person might not work for you.

Be nice to others, but be nicer to your family. Just as

you would mark your calendar for appointments with your clients, do the same for your parents, spouse, and children. A family is sacred. Far too many marriages are breaking apart because everything else becomes more important soon after a couple tied the knot. Connect with your loved ones daily. The heart grows distant with every second you are apart. To young children, “love” equals “time”; a mother’s adoring voice and touch are irreplaceable.

“better”. Better relationships, better performance at work, and understanding yourself and others better. You can only do better when you look back and reflect upon the day that has been with honesty, and accept your shortcomings.

Above all, Know your true hero. Have a real person to inspire

you. If you reach a point where you feel like giving up, remember this person, remember why he or she is important to you, and what about him or her that inspires you. For me it’s my late mother. She once said to me, “Kalau buat baik, tentu Tuhan tolong.” (“So long as you’re doing good, God will help you.”) Her words have become my life motto ever since. When things get tough, all I do is recall these words to get up and go.

Have a little regret each day. Dissatisfaction can be a good

source of motivation! Perfection doesn’t exist. Instead, work towards

Melbourne saw the launch of its first Muslim Career Expo on Saturday, 9 Sep 2017 at the City Convention Centre, Victoria University WORTHY CAUSES Farooq Syed The Career Expo was organised by the ASCEND team, an initiative of the Melbourne Madinah, boasting 17 speakers, 25 exhibitors, and 10 interactive workshops in a day, all by Muslim professionals that are leading experts in their field and share a common passion to give back to the community.

Hima Faiz, project lead at the ASCEND team and a full time university student, strongly believes in the potential of the Muslim youth. Hima and the ASCEND team aim to provide these students with the guidance and mentoring required during the particularly challenging transition phases of education to give them the best possible chance at excelling in their fields of interest.

Through the Career Expo, not only did Muslim youth get an opportunity to learn about various professions but more importantly, they were presented with an opportunity to meet and speak

with Muslims who had succeeded in the professional workforce without losing their Muslim identity; an internal conflict that can sometimes be challenging to deal with.

“We saw the gap in the market for a career fair for Muslims, and we took this chance to build a bridge that connects students and young professionals to the mass market that shared similar Islamic values to us”, Hima says.

Workshops at the expo were run by professionals from various fields & organisations including Muslim Medical Mentoring, Muslim Health Professionals, Muslim Legal Network, Muslim Professional Association and the Australian Centre for Islamic Finance.

Professionals such as Almir Colan, Bachar Houli and others from leading community, sporting and professional organisations gave talks and ran workshops in fields covering medicine, sport, finance, engineering, communication & design and

information technology.

In addition, the expo also ran skills workshops teaching students to deal with time management, productivity, stress, anxiety and study skills.

The Career Expo was sponsored by MCCA Islamic Finance & Investments and the Melbourne Muslim Initiative.

The team at Melbourne Madinah and ASCEND plan to conduct the Career Expo annually. The Expo is only one of the many services that ASCEND has planned, with the team aggressively planning to roll out VCE support services, tutoring, mentoring, professional networking, resume writing, interview skills training and many more services in the coming months.

The ASCEND project is the latest addition to Melbourne Madinah’s portfolio of a variety of social and education projects that benefit the local community.

New Teacher Training Programs

Filling a void for educators of Muslim students

The Centre for Islamic Thought and Education (CITE) and the School of Education, University of South Australia (UniSA) will launch two new and exciting on-line programs in 2018.

The programs are sure to be attractive to current and prospective Islamic school educators as well as educators of Muslim students in other schools. They are the first and only qualifications of their kind in Australia. They aim to fill a void in formal, accredited teacher training and professional learning programs.

The first program, a Master of Teaching (secondary) provides a pathway to becoming a teacher in Australia with a specialisation in Islamic pedagogy for those with a relevant undergraduate degree.

The second program, a Graduate Diploma in Education (Islamic Education) offers professional learning for existing teachers aligned with contemporary educational polices, standards and practices, within the framework of Islamic pedagogy.

For readers not acquainted with the term Islamic pedagogy, this refers simply to the principles of education derived from the Islamic tradition that inform what we teach and learn, and the way we teach and learn.

The programs respond to the long-held need for formal teacher training and professional learning programs in Islamic pedagogy within an established faculty of education.

As far back as the First World Conference on Islamic Education in Mecca in 1977, the need for a teacher education program was identified. CITE Program Director

for Islamic Education, Dylan Chown has emphasised that these programs are “important milestones and significant achievements for the entire field. They are the result of collective inspiration, perspiration and prayers from many in the field, nationally and internationally”.

The new UniSA CITE programs are a recognition that a vast Islamic education tradition exists. Students in these programs will study Ghazali, Ibn Sina and Zarnuji alongside Dewey and Vygotsky. They will also be exposed to the contemporary scholarship of Naquib Al-Attas and Seyyid Hossein Nasr. The programs introduce students to epistemologies (ways of knowing), philosophies, pedagogies (methodologies of teaching) and perspectives from within the rich Islamic educational heritage consistent and aligned with research in broader and contemporary education contexts.

Students can study courses on Islamic pedagogy such as ‘Principles and Praxis’, ‘Contemporary Issues and Muslim Students in the Classroom’, ‘Quality Teaching and Learning’, ‘Managing Learning Environments’ and ‘Critical Perspectives on Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment’. Students can also study courses relating to the Islamic tradition as this informs educational theory such as an ‘Introduction to Islam’, ‘Empires of Islamic Civilisation’, and ‘Advanced Studies in Islam & International Relations’ or ‘Advanced Studies of Sharia’.

CITE Director, Professor Mohamad Abdalla has a history of establishing ground breaking centres. Professor Abdalla formerly set-up the Griffith

University Islamic Research Unit which would become part of the National Centre for Excellence in Islamic Studies. In his tenure the Islamic studies program proved hugely popular. He now brings his invaluable experience to the fast growing Centre for Islamic Thought and Education at UniSA where his vision and leadership has seen the formation of these innovative and other exciting programs.

Why the need for such programs?

As we know, students, families and school communities that share a religious affiliation identify with common values, beliefs and traditions. They see these as orientating, enabling, and empowering as well as sources of guidance and as resources for lifelong learning. The UniSA CITE programs wish to honour these resources and seek to equip educators to be religiously and culturally responsive.

The aim of UniSA CITE programs is therefore to provide training and professional learning responsive to schools contexts and the needs of Muslim students. The programs do not narrow or limit the educational scope and potential of the curriculum but rather deepen and widen teaching and learning by integrating a religious, cultural and spiritual dimension.

What does this mean for Islamic schools?

The objective of Islamic schools is similar to other faith-centred schools – such as Catholic or Jewish schools – this is to foster a deep connection to faith and prepare students to play

active and positive roles in society.

Despite the growth of Islamic schools in the Australia as in United States of America, Canada, Europe, South Africa and New Zealand, to date there has been no formal, accredited teacher training or professional learning degree programs for Islamic school teachers or teachers of Muslim students generally. There are such programs in parts of the Muslim world and a handful of programs elsewhere that are not accredited, but no existing program exists.

Internationally renowned Islamic education expert Dr Nadeem Memon wrote that teachers in other faithbased schools, unlike in Islamic schools, are trained specifically about pedagogical (methodology of teaching) aims, teachings of the faith, and instructional strategies necessary to nurture faith-consciousness. Whilst every Islamic school community contains those heroic teachers who champion such priorities, Islamic schools according to Dr Memon have been inconsistent in setting standards for and supporting the development of teachers.

One underlying assumption across the field has been that a trained and registered teacher who identifies as a Muslim will know automatically how to teach ‘Islamically’. Another assumption is that teachers who do not identify as Muslim need only to focus on their craft and/or subject specialisation and the ‘Islamic’ can be facilitated in other quarters of the school. In fact teachers are very interested in the life worlds of their students and understand the importance of student’s beliefs values and traditions as this informs

their learning. Quality teachers value the relationships they share with their students and value what the student brings to the classroom.

These assumptions have often left it to already busy and overworked teachers to navigate and overcome these challenges themselves.

In the 35 year history of Islamic schools in Australia and over 75 year history in North America, there has previously never been an accredited teacher education program or recognised professional learning degree to equip Islamic school teachers with an understanding of an Islamic pedagogy. This is not necessarily a criticism rather a reflection of the limited capacity in the establishment phase and more positively a sign of maturity and growth in the current era.

Mr Chown shares that, ”Our colleagues in Catholic education have set a beautiful precedence and have long provided access to quality teacher training and professional learning to educators in their schools”. All full-time teachers in Catholic schools in Australia complete a Graduate Certificate in Catholic studies within the first five (5) years of service. Mr Chown said with reference to the new UniSA CITE programs, “We envisage the Graduate Diploma in Education (Islamic Education) will set the standard for professional learning for Islamic schools”.

Launch of new resource to counter hate MEDIA RELEASE Minister for Multiculturalism Ray Williams launched the website, Remove Hate from the Debate, which hosts positive tools and techniques to help young people identify hate speech and understand how to best respond.

Recent data shows 53 per cent of people aged 12 to 17 in Australia have seen or heard hateful comments about cultural or religious groups online.

Mr Williams said many young people want to take positive action when confronted with hateful comments online, but not everyone knows what to do.

“Everyone is entitled to live a life free of hate and this includes in the online space.

“We have developed a series of tools and techniques to support youth who may be confronted with hate speech online, including ten tips to counter hate.

“We know hate speech is on the rise

online and how damaging exposure to this can be to young peoples’ self-esteem, sense of belonging and identity.

“NSW is one of the most successful multicultural states and the envy of the world. We all need to work together to maintain our harmonious society,” Mr Williams said.

Remove Hate from the Debate Ambassador and Sydney siege survivor, Jarrod Morton-Hoffman, said the campaign is about challenging these statistics.

“Evidence shows when people are faced with racism, hostility or hateful thinking, they are likely to react with a hateful response,” Mr Morton-Hoffman said.

“If you take stock and respond with compassion or empathy, you are more likely to change the dynamic in a positive way and break the cycle of hate.”

Autonomy with citizenship of Myanmar or Independent Rakhine State for Rohingyas

When the rest of the world, including United Nations (UN) called “textbook ethnic cleansing” of Rohingyas in strife-torn Rakhine State of Myanmar, the most arrogant Head of Myanmar Armed Forces, General Min Aung Hlaing has reiterated his baseless claim that Rohingyas are illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, and have no roots in Rakhine, despite living there for centuries.

In November 2016, Mr Yanghee Lee, the UN special investigator on Myanmar, noted that the Myanmar Government wanted to expel its entire Rohingya population from Rakhine. If the UN or the world community took this matter seriously and acted timely to ensure citizenship of Rohingyas then we probably could have avoided the catastrophic massacre and mass exodus of Rohingyas to Bangladesh now.

It seems the current wave of violence is aimed at the sole purpose of ethnic cleansing of Rohingyas either by brutal killing or driving out from Myanmar to Bangladesh in the pretext that they are not Rohingyas but Bangalis.

If they succeed in making Rakhine free from Rohingyas they will try to fool the whole world that an ethnic minority living in Myanmar since the 8th century are Bangladeshis and they have no root in Myanmar. If this ridiculous logic of the junta is applied to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and USA all nonindigenous citizens must be killed if they don’t go back to different parts of Europe and Asia where their ancestors came from.

Historically Rohingyas are the Arakanese locals who settled in the Arakan state of Burma (now called Rakhine state of Myanmar) as early as the 8th century. In 2013 United Nations declared them as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world.

Although the Rohingyas lived in Rakhine for many centuries they were deprived of the nationality under the 1982 Burmese citizenship law imposed by the military government. They were also restricted from freedom of movement, state education and civil service jobs.

The pretext of the latest indiscriminate killing of civilians, rape of women, and burning of thousands of houses is the alleged attacks of some member of militant Rohingyas on several police stations with knives and sticks. Clearly, a very well orchestrated state drama to create a pretext to justify the hidden agenda to kill or get rid of all Rohingyas.

These human rights violations amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. The stories of over 410,000 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh are most tragic, horrific and heartbreaking.

Many of these people have fled from their houses empty handed to save their lives from the killing machine of Myanmar. The wives left behind dead husbands, the mothers could not carry their children, the sons could not protect their parents, the husbands could not safe their

wives and children from the Myanmar army. They walked through the treacherous mountains, dense jungles, muddy wetland for many days without food and crossed dangerous rivers only to skip the persecution.

According to the aid agencies, due to the arrival of so many refugees in such a short time and limited supply of relief items and emergency supplies the refugees have no proper shelter, sanitation, enough food, water and medicine.

Many of the children are sick and suffering from trauma and malnutrition and are likely to die due to lack of medical attention if necessary help does not arrive soon.

Instead she and her military partners continues systematic oppression on the Rohingyas and now they have been using its security forces to drive out all the Rohingyas from Rakhine and push them to Bangladesh. Ms Suu Kyi is shown no respect for peace and human rights of Rohingyas, rather she started asking about the religion of the BBC journalist who was interviewing her last year.

No wonder there have been calls to revoke her Nobel Peace Prize and try her in the International Court of Justice.

The Myanmar Government must cover all the cost of humanitarian support provided by the UN and other aid organisations including shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, and education of

the refugees, the displaced citizens of Myanmar.

The developed world must take increased number of Rohingya refugees for settlement under humanitarian intake.

We must praise the Government and people of Bangladesh for their generous support for the refugees. We also need to remember that as one of the most densely populated nations on the earth with very limited resources and infrastructure Bangladesh alone is unable to support such a large number of refugees for a long time.

If diplomacy fails, and Myanmar does not agree to take Rohingyas back to Rakhine with citizenship and autonomy, the world would have no alternative other than

Opportunity for young Australian Muslims at Sounds of Light 2017 Talent Quest

Alsu Kurlow Young Australian Muslims are invited to participate in the Sounds of Light 2017 Talent Quest, which accompanies the Sounds of Light Charity Concerts.

The internationally-recognised Sounds of Light Charity Concert (SOL) is the biggest event on the calendar of the Australian Muslim community.

With destinations nationwide, SOL is an event that brings Muslim communities together for an evening of delightful entertainment to benefit orphans and disadvantaged children overseas. Over the span of ten years, SOL has attracted more than 50,000 attendees in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney as well as Auckland in New Zealand, resulting in the incredible sponsorship of more than 7,000 orphans around the world.

This year SOL concerts will be held in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane between 23rd

and 27th November. MultiPlatinum artist Maher Zain from Sweden will make his awaited return to Australia along with comedian Preacher Moss from the US and the distinguished singer Adel Elmshiti from Libya. Imam Suhaib Webb from US will be the guest speaker and Dr. Omer Turkmen from Turkey will be the Quran reciter And from the UK, sensational young talent Harris J will also be entertaining the audience.

The Sounds of Light 2017 Talent Quest is

an initiative of the newly established division Human Appeal Australia Community Care (HAACC) as part of its youth development program.

HAACC uses the performing and creative arts to give young people the platform to realise their potential and contribute to a sense of identity, self worth and belonging, helping to motivate and prepare them to contribute towards positive social change.

This competition is a fantastic opportunity for young Australian Muslims to

Mr Bashar Al-Jamal, the Director of Human Appeal Australia, said: “The primary aim of the Talent Quest is to engage Muslim schoolaged children and youth from minority and refugee backgrounds, helping to promote wellbeing and social cohesion through the arts. We believe all young people have the potential and are capable of great achievement if given the opportunity.”

The Persecution of the Rohingya People in Burma is the product of

G enocide According to Researchers from QMUL Dr. Rawaa El Ayoubi Gebara

The RohingyaBuddhist conflict in Rakhine is dated to the 17th century: Muslims in Myanmar have faced the everyday discrimination and challenges that non-Buddhists face in an overwhelmingly Buddhist majority country.

After the mass killing of the Rohingya people which happened in Burma in 2012, the International State Crime Initiative (ISCI) based at Queen Mary University in London (QMUL) conducted a research which was led by Professor Penny Green. The research was funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council. And, the research team includes Professor Penny Green, Dr. Thomas MacManus, and Alicia de la Cour Venning. The researchers spent four months in the field of research (Mynamar), and after 18 months of research

and study, they announced their findings in May 2016.

They also completed a 12 months investigation report into the treatment of the Rohingya people in Myanmar.

The results found undeniable evidence of State policies and laws of genocidal persecution reaching back over 30 years and involving the persecution of the target group- the Rohingya people.

The research conceptualises the genocide as a social process which involves six stages:

Stage 1: Stigmatisation

Evolving from years of oppression and poverty and denial of citizenship, Rohingya people are ripe for demonisation and ongoing persecution and violence for social, political and economic conditions. The government has been central in stigmatising the Rohingya allowing Islamophobia and hate speech to flourish.

Therefore, the entire Rohingya people has recently been disenfranchised.

Stage 2: Harassment

Physical violence resulted in many hundreds of deaths and the threat of violence is on daily basis against the Rohingya. The research reveals that the violence was planned and organised by the government authorities

supported by local civil society organisations and political and Buddhist leaders. Continued harassment has contributed to the flight of hundreds of thousands of Rohingya.

Stage 3: Isolation

More than 100,000 Muslims have been forced into squalid camps in an overcrowded and isolated detention on the outskirts of Sittwe. A further 4,250 Rohingya live a precarious existence in downtown Sittwe’s militarised ghetto, Aung Mingalar.

Stage 4: Systematic Weakening

Systematic weakening is the genocide stage prior to Mass Annihilation and to Symbolic Enactment which are stage 5 and 6 of this social process.

The expulsion of Médecins Sans Frontières and the regulation of humanitarian aid are state actions designed to systematically weaken the Rohingya community.

As the Rakhine National Party spokesperson declared in his interview with ISCI (January 2015), “When the international community give them [Rohingya] a lot of food and a lot of donations, they will grow fat and become stronger, and they will become more violent.”

Drawing on research findings, the report provides evidence that the persecution of the Rohingya minority,

which includes isolation, massacres and restrictions on movement reaches to a longer-term strategy to eliminate the Rohingya community. Professor Green, director of ISCI, said: “While attention is focused on the forthcoming elections, the Rohingya people are harassed, terrorised and slaughtered. we found widespread evidence of killings, torture, rape, arbitrary detention, and State sanctioned campaigns of religious hatred.” She further added, “While the Rohingya have been persecuted for decades, they have faced an intensified and unrelenting campaign of State-led terror since 2012. They have had their land removed from them, their civil rights have been rendered meaningless, their livelihoods have been

destroyed, and they have been forced into detention camps.”

According to the team of research: “Myanmar’s Rohingya are being slowly annihilated through sporadic massacres, mass flight, systematic weakening and denial of identity. A genocidal process is underway in Myanmar and if it follows the path outlined in our report, it is yet to be completed. It can be stopped but not without confronting the fact that it is, indeed, a genocide.”

The Rohingya have been subjected to the above stages, four of them already have been happened, and the last two stages which were predicted by the research team-Mass Annihilation and to Symbolic Enactment-are exercised now in front of the international society. It is

an elimination of the entire Rohingya community.

Under international law, labelling “Genocide” places a certain obligation on the alleged government or state that orchestrates the persecution to punish the perpetrators of genocide.

Knowing that this state is extremely reluctant to label this persecution as genocide because it does require some actions by them and since they are involved in the crimes, they won’t do it.

Ultimately, very pertinent questions are to ask: How long do we have to wait until the International law stops the massacre of these innocent people? Does each human being has the right to live with freedom, peace and dignity?

What justice will be given to them and when??

Rohingya

Muslims in Crisis In the most recent outbreak of violence, 400 Rohingyans are dead and tens of thousands have fled their destroyed villages to neighbouring Bangladesh, many with injuries.

The displaced have stories of bloodshed and frantic escapes from villages where they had to leave behind all their belongings and in many cases family members.

Since the 25th of August over 380,000 Rohingya refugees have arrived in Bangladesh. many are staying in makeshift tents and most are malnourished and hungry.

“There is an urgent need to ensure that displaced people and other civilians affected

by the violence are protected and are given safe access to humanitarian assistance including food, water, shelter, and health services,” Peron said (UN Representative) Human rights organisations

along with the International media have described the Rohingya people as one of the most persecuted ethnic groups in the world.

They have no legal protection and are denied citizenship in Myanmar, leaving them vulnerable to discrimination, exploitation and violence. Most Rohingya Muslims live in the impoverished area of western Rakhine State, and are subject

to harsh restrictions on their ability to work and travel.

Almir Colan rejects Herald Sun’s false claim

‘Cursing girls wearing shorts’ MEDIA STATEMENT

Wednesday 27 September 2017 I was shocked this morning to find the Herald Sun attributing to me a quote that school girls who wear shorts are ‘cursed’. I have never said such a thing and in fact when the journalist contacted me last week, I explicitly rejected the idea that girls are cursed for wearing shorts.

I added that as a father I encourage my children to wear clothes that are comfortable, to engage in sports and to live active lifestyles.

Kids are kids and it is important that we help them to get the most out of play and being active. To say that kids are cursed or anything similar is totally unacceptable.

The context of my discussion with the journalist was about current popular trends and gender differences. It was not about kids and how they should or should not dress.

Based on the conference’s speeches, discussions and work papers, the participants concluded with a number of recommendations calling for: First: To develop a longterm strategy to initiate civilizational and cultural communications. A spirit of tolerance and equality among peoples must be promoted along with a cooperation that will promote sustainable development programs, and provide a secure, stable and prosperous environment that protects young people from extremist ideas.

Second: Intensify Islamic meetings with other civilizations to discuss outstanding issues and set up common concepts; and work diligently to free ourselves from the effects and influence of the historical clash (of civilizations).

Third: To strengthen the links and cooperation between the Islamic organizations in the United States of America and the official and popular bodies

in the Islamic world in every fields to learn and educate.

Fourth: To make effective international efforts to achieve man’s dignity and preserve his rights, achieve actual justice and accomplish peaceful coexistence among human societies.

Fifth: To establish the Forum for American-Islamic Cultural Communication to promote intellectual, cultural and scientific links between Islamic peoples and the American people, and deepen the cultural ties between the two sides.

Sixth: To develop a comprehensive and integrated strategic plan for coordination between organizations, centers, universities and media institutions to oppose extremist ideology and protect societies from its effects, consequences and repercussions on other parties.

Seventh: Promoting a culture of co-existence and communication within Islamic and Western societies, encouraging research and studies that would establish the principle of effective communication, highlight the importance of both sides.

Publishing and translating books of both sides must be encouraged, while avoiding the claims of the clash of civilizations and warning against the phenomenon of Islamophobia.

Eighth: To encourage the media to contribute in spreading a culture of peace and understanding, to be credible and objective. A culture of violence and hatred must be totally avoided, and producing information materials that fuel religious, sectarian and intellectual conflicts must be shunned.

The Conference called on the Muslim World League to: Cooperating with associations, organizations and universities in the United States of America to implement joint programs aimed at achieving positive interaction between Islamic and American civilizations.

Developing inter-dialogue programs that will take into account common interests and address the problems of contemporary societies.

ISRA holds its annual reading competition

“EVERYONE’S READING ABOUT THEM”

ISRA Everyone’s Reading About Them is a unique initiative organised by Islamic Sciences and Research Academy (ISRA) in Melbourne which encouraged individuals to read about the sahaba.

The incentive to read the book and sit for the exam was certainly there with impressive prizes for first place; $1,000 for adults, $500 for high school and $300 for primary school category. The books themselves were also no doubt incentives as they drew the reader’s attention into the lives of the sahaba. The adults were drawn into the life of Aisha (may God be

pleased with her) with the book titled “Aisha: The Wife, The Companion, The Scholar” written by Resit Haylamaz.

High school students got insight into a range of sahaba with the book titled “Sahaba: Stars of the Prophet” written

by ISRA’s own Omer A Ergi. Finally, the primary school students had a chance to understand the lives of the sahaba through a book which is simple foe their level but inspiring, titled “Companions of the Prophet” by Enis Yuce.

After reading and studying the books for weeks if not months, all sat for the exam on Saturday 9 September. While it was a nervous moment for many as they were being examined on how well they had

read about them (sahaba), there was an air of spirituality as well, as everyone in the examination room was immersed in the lives of the sahaba at the very same time.

With more than 800 participants sitting for the exams in the three categories, the results are anxiously being awaited. The results will be announced at the award’s night to be held at ISRA Melbourne on Saturday 21 October. While the top three are monetary winners, everyone is a winner in this content since everyone who participated has come to know the sahaba that much better, a big gain indeed.

Marlene Kairouz appointed new Minister for Local Government

Melbourne On September 13th, 2017, Marlene Kairouz was appointed as the Minister for Local Government, in addition to her Ministerial responsibilities for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation.

Marlene Kairouz has been a Labor member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 2008, and Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation since 2016.

Kairouz was born in Melbourne. Her parents from Lebanon.

She was awarded the Centenary Medal for services to local government in 2001.

Violence and persecution against the Rohingya minority AFIC T h e President of Muslims Australia (AFIC) Dr Rateb Jneid welcomes the recent announcement of $5m in humanitarian aid for the Rohingya people. AFIC believes that the Australian Government should be doing a lot more to bring an end to the misery and persecution of the Rohingya in Myanmar.

AFIC represents over 700,000 Muslims in Australia including a number of refugees from the persecuted Rohingya community.

Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have been forcibly displaced from their homes and are staying in camps in Myanmar or Bangladesh or are in a virtual no-man’s land on the border.

They are fleeing a systematic program of mass killings, terror, and incitement, and they urgently need a secure location until peace and stability can be established in Rakhine state.

Given the dire nature of the threat and the suffering of so many innocent children and families, AFIC asks the Australian government to increase its refugee intake.

The UN has refined to the Rohingya as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world. The UN and human rights

groups have expressed alarm at the unfolding genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Anti-Muslim hate speech and incitement is fuelling the persecution and violence. The blame lies fairly and squarely with the regime, and it is unreasonable to call for restraint from both sides when there is one side with all of the power and that is committing the crimes and the other side are the victims.

AFIC asks the Prime Minister to unequivocally condemn the Myanmar government and its military forces for its brutality and crimes against humanity. AFIC asks the Australian Government to support any and all efforts at the UN to bring an end to the violence and persecution against the Rohingya minority and to call for those involved to be brought to justice.

Aung San Suu Kyi has been largely silent on the Rohingya situation, to the bitter disappointment and disillusionment of her many democracy and human rights supporters around the world. Her fellow Nobel Peace Prize laureates Desmond Tutu and Malala Yousafzai have publicly called upon Suu Kyi to take action. Even more alarmingly, Suu Kyi has attacked the Rohingya and blamed them for the violence. Such irresponsible and callous statements are not

befitting a national leader let alone a Nobel peace prize holder.

AFIC also ask the Prime Minister to use Australia’s good standing with the effective leader of the Myanmar government, Aung San Suu Kyi, to influence her to intervene to stop these atrocities.

Bringing an end to the violence and allowing the Rohingya to return safely to their homes and villages, many of them destroyed, is just the first step. We need a permanent solution to the status of the Rohingya minority.

The Rohingya have been part of Myanmar for centuries, they are not foreigners or interlopers. They should be rightly recognised as one of the native ethnic races of Myanmar.

The world community must pressure the Myanmar regime to recognise the legitimate rights of the Rohingya minority including the right to safety and security, education, healthcare, freedom of movement, and political participation.

These are basic human rights, and we ask the Australian Government to champion the cause of the Rohingya in appropriate forums.

We believe that Australia can make a difference. AFIC looks forward to the Australian Government urgent action on behalf of the helpless Rohingya people.

Hajj Day at Minaret College

Minaret College Every year, during the month of Dhul Hijjah, Minaret College, holds a special event known as “Hajj Day”. The Junior School transforms the school hall into an interactive learning experience that demonstrates the

various stages of Hajj.

As children learn best by doing, using their senses and exploring, the Hajj enactment is a perfect way to learn about the fifth pillar of Islam. Students travel around the hall to different stations, where they learn about the historic and Islamic significance of the acts and

also take part in activities such as running from Safa to Marwa and drinking Zam Zam water.

Our College values this opportunity for our children to experience and understand what occurs during Hajj.

In addition, the College has included this occasion as part of its Foundation Transition

Program - for students who will be commencing school next year.

Each year, the event attracts a large audience of parents who enjoy watching their children take part in such a valuable learning experience.

Pinnacle College It is Qurban/Eid time.

A time for us, to think about less fortunate people and try to help them where possible. At Pinnacle College, we have organised several fundraiser activities. Our fundraiser activities varied between selling food/drinks

to organising games. We tried where possible to get students involved in preparing the fundraiser for them to feel the pride of participating in helping less fortunate people.

During our Eid Festival, the Year 6’s organised stalls for their Economics and Business Projects where they raised money for the poor as well.

Acting as a collection agency for the

benevolent organisation (Australian Relief Organisation), our target for the Gilles Plains Campus was to get a total of 100 Qurbans and for the Elizabeth Campus a total of 200.

With your continuous support, we are pleased to notify you that we have exceeded our goal. These funds, along with further Qurban donations were sent to the underprivileged in Sri

Lanka, the Philippines, Pakistan and other countries as listed on the ARO website. This year, our principal, Mr Zeki Dengiz travelled to Sri Lanka to observe the Qurban delivery on behalf of our parents. It was a moving experience and an eye opener, as it highlighted how privileged we are to live in Australia.

we congratulate Pinnacle College for purchasing a new campus in Golden Grove ( Pedare College Junior Campus). As part of the agreement, Pinnacle College will be using its new premises at the start of 2019. Looking forward to share further progress and prosperities.

Speakers included First Nations spokespeson Rob Thorpe, ICV President Mohamed Mohideen, local Rohingya leader Habibiurahman from ABRO (Australian Burmese Rohingya Org), Ronan Lee, an academic expert on Rohingya (Deakin

University), Senator Richard Di Natale, Leader of Federal Greens Party, Maria Vamvakinou MP, Federal Labor member for Calwel and ICV Imam Sheikh Abdinur Weli.

The Rally called for a ‘Stop to the violence and ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims’. The ICV calls upon the Myanmar regime to bring an end once-and-for-all to its apartheid policies and inhumane treatment of the Rohingya people who have suffered grave injustices for decades.

The ICV calls upon the Australian

Government to use all diplomatic and economic means available to pressure the Myanmar regime to end this ethnic cleansing. Australia should also provide immediate humanitarian aid to the thousands of victims and refugees and offer asylum to the most persecuted.

As late as 2014 toleration of right-wing extremism still clung to the Liberals, despite the exposure of the 1970s Liberal Party Migrant Advisory Council.

Speaking at the Croatian Club in Sydney on April 13, MHR Craig Kelly’s words were noted in the Australian Croatian weekly Boca KroPres:“On behalf of the Prime Minister, who is in Japan, I’m conveying his greetings and good wishes on the occasion of the celebration of the 10th of April to you and all Croats in Australia, and those in Croatia.” [Independent Australia 23 April 2014] This was the anniversary of the establishment of the Nazi puppet state of Croatia. It resulted in a ‘please explain’ from the modern Croatian government.

“Traitors” by Frank Walker, published this year, is a record of how our Anzacs were betrayed by our own government and by our wartime allies. Although the Moscow Declaration on Atrocities signed by Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt, proclaimed that once the enemies were defeated they would ‘pursue them to the uttermost ends of the earth and will deliver them to their accusers in order that justice may be done,’ this was not honoured.

Three examples of betrayal, two directly related to my relatives and one to the political character of modern Japan, stood out to me.

The case of an SS doctor’s use of five Australian POWs for medical experiments on the transmission of hepatitis, after the defeat of Crete, is outrageous. Lance Corporal George Savage from Melbourne, reported the experiments to the army after he escaped and returned to Australia.

His report was filed away and ignored until retrieved by a researcher from the national archives in 2016. The SS doctor involved openly boasted of his research in a German medical journal. He was held for 2 years at war’s end but was soon released and became Director of the Nuremberg Hospital and Professor of Internal Medicine at Erlangen University. One of my uncles was captured on Crete and could have well been used in these criminal experiments.

Experiments on captives were also part of the Japanese war effort. The vivisections of unit 713 in Manchukuo were the most barbaric, but similar horrors were perpetrated throughout the lands occupied by the Japanese. Ambon, where another uncle died just 10 days before peace, was a place of human experimentation. Walker recounts that a prison camp doctor took nine groups of ten prisoners, injecting them with an unknown substance which he said was vitamin B. Fifty of them died soon after. Other places were equally horrid. “On Guadalcanal two prisoners were shot in the feet to stop them from escaping, and then a medical officer dissected them live, cutting out their livers.”

Unit 731 header by General Ishii Sato, carried out nightmarish experiments involving operations on prisoners without anaesthetic. Ishii escaped prosecution as in May 1947 General MacArthur requested full immunity for Ishii and his associates. “He even cited the living human dissections performed at Ping fang as a particular bonus for America.” The question of bacteriological warfare was briefly raised at the Tokyo War Crimes Trials but was immediately suppressed.

The nature of post-war Japan stands in stark contrast to Germany. The German people have recognised the crimes committed in their name but Japan has not. It did not even admit to Unit 731 until 1982. The appointed ‘Showa Terror’ of colonised Manchukuo, Nabusuke Kishi, and later key member of the Tojo Cabinet, who signed a decree conscripting slave labour for factories in Manchukuo, became Prime Minister of ‘democratic’ Japan in 1957.

The present Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, is his grandson.

Frank Walker has exposed the depth of the betrayal of our forces and of our allies by the post-war settlements, where the Cold War was used to justify recruiting Nazis and Japanese war criminals for the coming conflict with the USSR. As the Introduction concludes: “After reading this book you won’t help but wonder, what else did they hide?”
