Plan Your Next Holiday to the Amazing Hill Station of Shimla Shimla, the summer capital of the British India and the present capital of Himachal Pradesh has been blessed with all the natural bounties one can think. It is surrounded by green hills with snow capped. To get to this heavenly area in the mountains, air, rail and road transport are all available. Shimla provides accommodation in all categories including the luxury, premium, deluxe and the budgeted ones. There are numerous hotels in Shimla near the mall road. The mall road is the largest flea market of the place is heavily crowded with tourists during peak seasons. It is flanked with trinkets and garments on either side. It also holds few government emporium and several private outlets offering great shopping. Other shopping locations include the chaotic lower bazaar, and the famous LakkarBazaar (Lakkar means wood), which is quite famous for wooden souvenirs. The Tibetan carpets are splendid and are worth buying. Other than shopping there are various other activities and places to visit. There are few museums showcasing handicrafts and ancient Indian hand woven clothes. The place is also full of a number of gardens bloomed with beautiful flowers. The Himalayan bird park holds a small collection of exotic pheasant which is Himachal’s state bird. Skating, trekking, golf and animal safaris are activities to occupy oneself with. Food of all forms and variety is available. The local thukpas served with soups and red chilly mix are the popular ones and are available not only in almost all local stalls, but also in most of the popular hotels in Shimla near the mall road.There are numerous hotels serving a variety of food, including the Indian as well as continental cuisine. Stalls are dotted all over selling fast food and


instant ready to cook preparations. The traditional Pahadi food is also available in some food junctions. Shimla is a vibrant city and is heavily crowded during peak seasons.
