COMING SOON, ON A STAGE NEAR YOU.
Vibrant, energetic and joyful, this educational project takes a long-term view on music, with no professional compromise. The mission of the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra is to attract, educate and develop a wide variety of music fans. The concept is based on innovative music agendas that are unique to Romania. The repertoire of the Project takes into consideration the variety of music fans, their age and taste in music. The members of the orchestra are respected musicians of the Romanian cultural scene, who have proved their status as solo performers or members of other orchestras and national and international groups. They have received famous prizes in Romania and abroad In an attempt to go beyond their own limitations and feelings, the members of the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra approach new styles and emotions and
give life and value to the knowledge acquired in their search for the essence of music interpretation. The flexibility of choice in music genres was the cornerstone of the SYMPhoenix concerts, which brought together the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra and the famous band Phoenix between 2010 and 2011 or in the joint-projects which involved Romanian artists of international reputation, such as the violin player Corina Belcea and the soprano Angela Gheorghiu. The orchestra’s agenda also includes audio recordings from the future double LP signed Marcel Pavel - “Very Classic” – famous opera arias, chansonnettes and crossover. Two other CDs will be recorded under the direction of principal conductor Benoit Fromanger, having as main theme the music composed by Mel Bonis (France) and Benjamin Britten (England). In 2012, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra is invited to go on tour in Italy and France within highly-acclaimed music festivals.
