Alya Fitrianadira My name is Alya and I’m currently in my final year of undergraduate architecture studies. I am highly intrigued in architectural designs especially when it blends and integrates with nature. Nature, landscape and sustainability are elements that always inspires me when designing. I am also an open-minded individual who is eager to learn, explore and improve. Working in a team has always been a pleasure as I can learn from other people’s perspective.

Riverwood Residence and Shopping Street - Permeable Space and Connectivity in Urban High Density Area Fourth Year, 1st Semester, 2020 - 2021 Supervisor: Dr. M. Jehansyah Siregar, Ph.D.
There are quite a number of areas in the big cities that are experiencing a decline in their environment condition. This phenomenon is also known as urban decay. There are various factors that contribute to urban decay such as the degrade of the infrastructure’s quality and the lack of building’s development, maintenance as well as operation. The project challenges to revive the downtown areas in order to maintain the longevity and continuity of the urban life through the process of urban regenaration. Not only environmetal aspect need to be taken into consideration but also the social and economical aspects. Hence, several functions were schemed in the design project to revitalize the area.

The idea of bringing up a mixed-use building and shopping street within the site was to bring back the liveliness of the area. The mixed-used building function as a residential (apartment) and commercial purposes. It is equipped with variety of stores as well as leisure amenities for the occupants and the public. The seperate shopping street area function to increase the social and economical aspects of the place while respecting its historical context of shopping arcade from the shophouses style building. Natural colours and elements such as wood and vegetations filled up the space to give esse to the dull concrete environment that surrounds the site project. The upbringing of green elements from the trees and plants to create a cooling sensation and increase natural water absorption in the area.

Cikapundung Riverwalk - Placemaking : Lifestyle Centre Third Year, 2nd Semester, 2019 - 2020 Supervisor: Dr. Firmansyah, S.T., M.T.
Cikapundung is a well-known river that runs through Bandung city centre. One of the area that the river flows through is the ABC adn Cikapundung Street, a heavy commercialized area located just in the North side of the city centre. During the day it is known for its electronic markets and during the night it is filled with streetfood vendors. People come from all over town to have a taste one of Bandung’s famous cullinary spot. However, its life during the day is unlively compared to night-time as it is only filled with merchants, antique shops, services related to the electronic business and random street markets. In addition, the abandoned former plaza across the project site remained unmaintained creating unsettling view to the area. With the birth of a lifestyle centre, it can create a safer, more comfortable place that can increase people’s self-actualization of the unique and forgotten place to the society. A new place created special to the area that combines the composition of form, activities and images known as placemaking.

Cikapundung Riverwalk is a lifestyle centre located beside the famous Cikapundung River. The building is designed facing towards the river and equipped with public facilities & amenities as part of the river-integrated design. The river promenade surrounding the riverbend is incorporated with street furnitures and plants to provide a sensational experience unique to the place.
The lifestyle centre is equipped with various facilities such as retail stores, eateries and entertainments for the public interest and need. The project site was lacking of greenery and sense of ‘coolness’ so vegetation was needed as part of the design respond. This project is pedestrian and disable-friendly as vehicle circulation is minimized allowing them to roam around freely.

Rivergreen Residence - Placemaking: Apartment Third Year, 2nd Semester, 2019 - 2020 Supervisor: Dr. Firmansyah, S.T., M.T.
Continuation of the similar problem faced in the ABC Street area, the apartment project was the other half of the latter project (lifestyle centre). With the emergence of a lifestyle centre, the area will soon be crowded and people will start looking for places to stay near the multi-functional building as it is more convenient,time-saving and increase opportunities. The arrival of the apartment will help accommodate people who would want to live within the area. The project will also help to provide residence for people who works in the city centre or nearby area. Similar to the lifestyle project, the development of a mid-rise building in the site will create alternative activities and images to its surrounding context hence, a brand new place.

Komunal29 - Creative Sustainable Home Of ce 2019 Partner: Arkansyah Farras S.
Komunal29 is a home-office located in Banjarsari II St. , Jakarta. This home-office will continue to grow vertically in parallel with the growth of the users in the future. With the limit of the site area (144m2) the concept of multipurpose space was needed to accomodate multiple functions at the same time. To reduce stress from working, the outdoor and indoor spaces was designed to have a deep connection in order to create a sense of relief. The building is filled with plants to increase greenness (lost in nature) in the area as well as to restore the psychological and mental health of the users. Other than the owner, the building will accomodate KOMUNAL workers who will only be working in the place. KOMUNAL is a technological start-up company that associates with restoring the mental health of urban society (sociopreneur). They actively use social media and application platforms in their job.
