Honors Courtyard: Creating Accessible Nature Instructors: Hope Hasbrouck, Claire Eddleman-Heath

The courtyard is divided into a series of spaces by an elevated walkway in the middle running north to south. The spaces include an outdoor amphitheater, cafe seating and park seating and wildscape. The design provides accessible pathways between the dormitories for students and their guests. The planting design inspiration contrasts the traditional lawn observed on campus with a display of native species. Natural plantings like the courtyard design can aid in reducing stress and promote wellbeing amongst visitors and residents in the surrounding dormitories. Render from Southern Pavilion
