Chronic Diseases are the ‘lifestyle illnesses’ that we develop due to choices we make about how we live our lives. Did you know more than half of our mob who go to hospital for chronic diseases such as diabetes, angina, heart failure, high blood pressure, damaged lungs and livers, could have done something to prevent this from happening? You and your family can avoid chronic diseases by choosing to: Be Active – Many chronic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular illnesses don’t like it when people exercise regularly, because it is harder for them to take hold and grow on active people. Eat Well – Healthy food nourishes your body and gives you energy to survive and grow. Think Positive – A positive attitude can increase your wellbeing, making you healthier and raising your body’s immunity against attack. Stay Clear - Avoid grog, smokes and other drugs that lower your body’s wellbeing and attack your vital life-giving organs such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver and kidneys.
