Foundation Skills Programs Would you like to learn in a relaxed and supportive environment? Are you thinking about what the future could hold, or are you just looking for a change in career paths? Community Centres provide a range of Adult Community Education programs including accredited and nonaccredited Foundation Skills. You can start to build your confidence and workplace skills through pre-employment Adult Community Education (ACE) Foundation Skills courses available in the friendly and supportive environment of Salisbury’s Community Centres. Programs are usually free or low cost. Quarter 1 courses include (for more information and to book go to each Centre’s pages in this What’s On Guide):

Pathways to Hospitality at Burton Community Centre

You will learn basic skills required to gain work in hospitality kitchens or roles associated with food prep and handling, cooking and menu planning.

Nutrition and Children’s Services at Burton Community Centre

You will gain basic knowledge of how to plan healthy menus / programs for children and families and this will provide the foundation skills for working in the childcare kitchens. You will get hands on experience through working in the Bagster Road Community Centre Creche.

Pathways to Employment at Bagster Road Community Centre

You will learn basic letter writing, resume creation, job application and interview skills and this will provide you with the basic knowledge and support to actively find employment.
