Dear AIESECer, Do you have any idea of what will happen tomorrow? or what will happen after you send the application and you are selected as the next President of AIESEC in Tanzania? Well I don’t! We both don’t know what will happen but we all know the best way to plan for the future is to create it today. By reading this document, you have taken the first step to create the future of AIESEC in Tanzania by becoming the next Member Committee President (MCP) of AIESEC in the Tanzania for the 2017-2018 term. When you open this booklet, you may or may not have a decision yet whether to apply for the MCP role. It might take time. Important decision like this are always hard to make. If you feel like making a decision by yourself is a tough job, don’t hesitate to ask for help. You are not alone in this path. I know that for some of you it is early, as you have just started your current roles in the organisation. But within a couple of weeks, you could be the one leading our entity to the next level. You could be the one in the unique positon of having a strong influence on the direction our organisation takes. You will be facing the challenge of translating your vision into actionable goals and plans and creating long-term strategies that will determine the future of AIESEC in Tanzania. It is just a one year experience and is not a bed full of rosses but rather a lifetime experience that will help you to confront your fears and embrace them, because fear is a necessary component of huge growth and positive change. For me being the MCP for this entity gave me the opportunity to learn more about myself and how to find my passion in everything that I do. Knowing that I and my team have big goals that we want to achieve and being able empower all the members to significantly contribute towards the organisation gave me courage to rise my head above my shoulders. The application process is an experience on its own. I bet that you will go through ups and down and question many times if it is really worth all the stress. Trust me, it is and you will realize it right after the entire process finishes. I advise you to book a lot of time for the application because there will be moments when you will need to just stop and reflect. That is alright because these moments give you the clarity and reasons why you chose to set out on the journey. When those moment come, I have a list of five questions that if well thought-upon might give you that one thing that you need to finish this application. What do I want to achieve in my life? What will bring me the most personal fulfillment and satisfaction next year? Do I have the feeling that I can significantly impact and contribute to the organisation? Does the MCP role bring me something I cannot find in any other opportunities? On behalf of all AIESEC members and the national executive board I would like to wish you all the best.
