Towards Cooperation in the Adriatic - Ionian Region Through Dialogue Dijalogom do saradnje u Jadransko - jonskom regionu

Cetinje, 29 April – Budva, 8 May 2019

Canvases of nine artists on the theme Towards Cooperation in the Adriatic – Ionian Region Through Dialogue, created in Cetinje in the past days, provide insight into different poetics of unique sensibilities. In arts of classical format, carried out by traditional painting techniques, affinities and reflections of unusual creativity are presented. The purpose of art has always been to interpret and deconstruct the reality in search for deep meaning and answers, but also to warn on wrong ways that are an inevitable companion for every social development. Today, as rarely as ever, art has been put before challenges that equally require talent and inspiration as well as responsibility. The innovative view of the artists of our epoch almost obligates to reject the so-called artistic legitimacy, i.e. requires a conscious and brave variance from the desirable previous paths in order to seek new ways of expressing and creating new maps of meaning. In this sense, the artworks created on this colony are encouraging with their originality and freshness in their quest for – how and in which ways to the more humane and conscious future of this region? On this significant contribution, we would like to thank these authors and once again emphasize our support and strategic commitment towards promoting good neighborly relations and regional cooperation with the aim of further development and growth of this region, which is the strategic goal of the Adriatic – Ionian initiative.

GALA ČAKI

SERBIA

My work can be subsumed under a kind of schematic expression of my inner life in all of its dramatic turbulence. In this way my paintings become a sacred space, a sanctuary in which my ego can reclaim its depthness and creativity that have been lost in the world. I pull my strength from the non oblivion and the capacity to imagine a multiple coexistence of destinies. The presence of yearning for understanding of passings that last indefinitely around us, all those lives that are deaths undercover, is what leads me to creation. The purpose of my work is bringing into question the logic of reality, and that points to awareness of a different reality. With my artistic synthesis I strive to bring to life a new, different, so far not seen reality- a noble, sensible, exciting and highly aestheticized one.
