CHARTER FLIGHTS!! One of the most important improvements at the lodge is the new airstrip, located at just 15 min drive from the Lodge. Starting in November 2015, guests on full-week (Saturday-Saturday) packages will fly 1 hour to/from the lodge and the coastal city of Comodoro Rivadavia in a 19 passenger Twin Otter! During their stay at Jurassic Lake Lodge, anglers will be able to try out a wide selection of fisheries and with Trout averaging 10lb and a good number of big ‘teeners’ and 20lb class specimens also a realistic target, Jurassic Lake Lodge offers anglers the opportunity to experience some of the best trophy Rainbow fishing in the world.


THE LODGE

THE LODGE The new lodge was built last season and offers 5 comfortable double occupancy rooms with private baths and shower, the main house is a spacious living room facing the Lake and mouth of the Barrancoso river. There is satellite TV, satellite phone and unlimited wireless internet access with 24 hours lights available in the rooms. The Lodge also has a private wine cellar with a large variety of fantastic Argentinian wines. Jurassic Lake Lodge also offers excellent international cuisine, preparing typical Argentinian food as well as typical Argentinian Barbecues and famous Patagonian Lamb. The Lodge is the perfect place to relax, taste a great Argentinian Malbec, enjoy our outstanding cuisine and be just a 2 minutes’ walk away for one of the greatest fishery in the world for trophy rainbows.

Jurassic Lake Lodge’s fishing guides are all long-time local anglers with a wealth of knowledge on the techniques and tactics to give you the best fishing experience possible. From the novice fisherman to the experts, our guides will show you their own proven methods to improve your catch. Our guides will do everything to maximize your success for catching these big Rainbows and ensure you have a great fishing holiday. Whether fishing for trophy Rainbows at the lake or wading the Barrancoso River and other small streams for the ultimate Rainbow Trout fishing experience, Jurassic Lake Lodge gives it all to our anglers with the most fantastic experience in Patagonia.


TACKLE TALK Fly rods: 2-3 x 7-9 weight rods are the norm with a 9’ 8wt. being the most practical all around rod. Fly reels: 2-3 x Freshwater reels with a good drag and plenty of line capacity with backing of at least 100 yards of 25-30 lb line. Lines: While not mandatory, it can be nice to have two rods rigged, one with a floating and one with an intermediate or sinking tip. Leaders/Tippet: 8-9 ft leaders with 10-20 pound tippet. Flies: Anglers should bring a large assortment of streamers, tubes, wet and dry flies, mice etc. for every occasion. Big flies will catch big fish! Spinning/casting rods: 2-3 x M and ML spinning or casting rods matched with either 1500 or 2500 sized good quality spinning reels or 200 sized baitcasting reels, loaded with 10-20lb braid. Lures: 30 x mixed shallow and medium diving lures, spoons and spinners in 2-4� sizes. *IMPORTANT TO NOTE: ALL LURES MUST HAVE ONE SINGLE HOOK ONLY


CLOTHING Warm and cold weather clothing (more depending on season) Wide brimmed hat/cap Polar fleece long johns for under waders in colder times, and breathable pants in warmer weather Breathable waders, wader belt and wading shoes/boots (no studs on boots) Sun protective clothing, buffs, long-sleeved shirts etc. Gloves: One pair UV protection fly-fishing gloves/stripping gloves or athletic tape (Coban) -used for taping fingers, an alternative for stripping guards or gloves Windcheater and rain gear Comfortable shoes/walking boots


OTHER RECCOMENDED GEAR Sunglasses: Two pairs of polarized sunglasses. It’s also good to have a lens cleaner and a soft cleaning cloth as well Sun Screen: One full bottle 50SPF and lip balm two tubes of 50SPF Backpack: One small waterproof backpack Camera: Don’t forget extra batteries, chargers and waterproof case/bag Headlamp and flashlight: One small LED headlamp and flashlight with batteries Baggies and/or waterproof bag: Six medium sized Ziploc baggies for storing bandanas, lens cloth, etc. and waterproof bag for camera, etc. Toiletries and medicines Kit: Bring all personal toiletries and medication Tape Measure, notepad/pen Book/Kindle/iPad Credit cards, cash for tipping and personal expenses Tools - long nose pliers, line clipper, scissors, medium size knife etc.


TRANSFERS/SCHEDULES and COSTS    

Day 1 - ( Friday ) Arrive in Buenos Aires, depart for Comodoro Rivadavia, overnight in Comodoro Rivadavia Day 2 (Saturday): Depart Comodoro Rivadavia to Jurassic Lake Lodge in the morning (charter flight), arrive to Jurassic Lake Lodge after 1hr 15 min flight, fishing the rest of the day. Day 3 – 8 (Sunday-Friday): Seven days of fishing. Day 9 (Saturday): Depart for Comodoro Rivadavia in the morning (charter flight), departure for Buenos Aires, onwards journey home.
