TOUR PREMIERES IN BRISTOL THU 1 SEP - SAT 8 OCT
WELCOME Welcome to another packed season at The Bristol Hippodrome, which as you can see from the pages overleaf, is full of entertainment to suit everyone’s taste. Rather than talk about the shows though, I want to spend just a couple of minutes to let you know about how you could be saving money on all those shows instead. Throughout the brochure you’ll see we refer to LiveCard discounts, which many of our patrons are already making use of. It may be something you’d thought about but weren’t really sure what it meant, so the best way to explain it is that it’s not a credit card, or a points card, put quite simply it’s a discount card - you just buy the card and then spend the next 12 months saving literally hundreds of pounds. You can get 2 tickets for the price of 1 on the opening night of many shows, and discounts on most other nights too, plus priority on sales, 3 free house programmes, regular newsletters and discounts around Bristol too. As the card costs only £30 and can be used on up to 4 tickets per show, that means that you could be saving over £30 by just coming to see one show. Even if you can’t make the opening night it is still worth getting a card as the savings very quickly add up - just ask when making your booking how much you could be saving too. See you soon at the theatre

BACK TO ROCK BRISTOL AFTER A SELL-OUT RUN IN 2009! Phil McIntyre Entertainment, Queen Theatrical Productions and Tribeca Theatrical Productions present

‘TRULY SPECTACULAR’ WESTON AND SOMERSET MERCURY
The worldwide smash-hit musical by Queen and Ben Elton returns for 3 weeks only following its sell-out run in 2009. Since 2002 over 11 million theatregoers in 17 countries have been thrilled to see this awe-inspiring production. With 24 of Queen’s biggest hits delivered in a show that boasts the scale and spectacle that marked the band’s legendary live performances, this theatrical phenomenon is not to be missed! When it became news some years back that one of Britain’s most phenomenally successful comedy writers, Ben Elton, was teaming up with legends of rock, Queen, for a musical, we all wondered what such a unique collaboration would turn out. Especially when screen icon Robert de Niro became so impressed after attending the original workshop that his company, Tribeca, came on board. The result was a new chapter in theatre history - We Will Rock You a rock ‘theatrical’ which defied all comparisons and has gone on to become a global smash hit. Starring Jenny Douglas BBC’s Over the Rainbow finalist, Leon Lopez Brookside/West End star, Ian Reddington EastEnders/ Coronation Street, Ashley J Russell BBC’s I’d Do Anything finalist & Noel Sullivan Hear’say/Grease. Includes 24 of Queen’s greatest hits:
Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, Somebody To Love, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Another One Bites The Dust, We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You.

‘A HABIT-FORMING TRIUMPH!’ EVENING STANDARD
From producers Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment (Hairspray, High School Musical) the smash hit musical comedy Sister Act is coming to The Bristol Hippodrome, direct from its record-breaking run at the London Palladium. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun she quickly finds fans amongst her fellow ‘sisters’ but makes the wrong impression on the convent’s strict Mother Superior. But when she turns her attention to the church’s off-key choir, helping the nuns to find their true voices and breathing new life into the rundown neighbourhood, her cover could be blown for good. With the gang giving chase, is time running out for Deloris? Or have they underestimated the power of her new found Sisterhood? Based on the smash hit movie of the same name, this fabulous, family-friendly, feel-good show is packed with songs inspired by Motown, funk, soul and disco. More than a million people saw Sister Act in the West End and now, as the habit hits the road in this multi-million pound production, you too can see why musical audiences fell in love with the funniest and funkiest nun on the run, and her heavenly sequinned sisters!
