Having come of age amid a family of medical specialists, Mr. Fields has long been interested in the field. After serving for 14 years as an operating room technician within the U.S. Navy, he became interested in counseling people after surgical procedures, and was praised for his excellent bedside manner with patients. Mr. Fields received an undergraduate degree from Benedict College, attended the Pre-Law degree program at North Carolina Central University and a master’s degree in criminal justice from Pacific Western University.
Following the conclusion of his academic efforts, Mr. Fields served as a corrections officer, but eventually decided to focus his career goals entirely on behavioral health. In 2009, he decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He had taken drama courses in college and leveraged his connections to find work in the field. Presently, Mr. Fields owns Dark Gable Productions Unlimited, where he deals with contracts and referral management for entertainers and organizes red carpet functions, and manages his entertainment publications in the form of Ambiance Uncut Magazine and X’tream Nailz Unlimited Magazine.
Previously, during his time spent as a behavioral health professional, Mr. Fields was most proud to have progressed from a counselor to a program director in less than five years. Moreover, he is grateful to be able to pursue his dreams in the entertainment industry. As a respected voice in his field, Mr. Fields authored a poetic reflection of his vast and multifaceted experiences, “Shades of Ebony – Epigrams of my Life,” in 2003.
For his military service, Mr. Field has received three Navy Good Conduct Awards, the Navy Sea Service Award, the Navy Combat Service Award and the Navy Foreign Service Award. He also earned several certificates of recognition from the California State Legislature. Throughout the course of his career, he has attributed his professional success to his flexibility, perseverance and his ability to sustain himself through numerous challenges. In the coming years, Mr. Fields plans on reactivating his non-profit called the Believe & Achieve Foundation (which provides counseling and referral services to both recovering addicts and ex-offenders), market his X’treme Nailz International and Ambi’ance publications to funders overseas (i.e. Dubai, China and Singapore), and finish some urban screenplays he has been working on for a couple of years.
