Midst of the Storm, They Call Me Stormi.

The author of this amazing thought provoking emotional novel is none other Ms. Felicia Poole.

I was invited to come to the home of the author for the exclusive interview for Ambiance Magazine. I was greeted with a mini family reception and immediately felt at home. Ms. Poole was very welcoming and a gracious host. Our interview began and I was very eager to hear her story and the inspiration behind “Stormi” the main character of her new novel.

Ms. Poole was born and raised in Compton California and is the proud mother of two sons Greggory and Kristopher and a grandmother to seven. She has had a vast amount of career experiences. She owned and operated the Up N Smoke Barbeque Restaurant for 6 years as well as worked as a Airport Concessions Manager with TDM Inc. for 30 years and has worked as a professional hair stylist for 20 years.

This phenomenal book was released April 19th of this year through Professional Publishing House LLC

What was the inspiration behind your Novel?

My inspiration was my oldest son. I am a single mother and can attest to injustice in our justice system for or young men. At 19 years of age he was arrested for attempted

murder and as a mother I had to do what I could to see my child through this. My son Marley ‘fit the description’ of the suspect for this crime. There was a measure of stress that was at times intolerable and heart-wrenching. We knew that he had not committed the crime and were all in for the good fight. My focal point was to see my son free by any means necessary. The DA had never met me or my son and from the beginning had such a disdain for him and wanted him put away and did everything in her power to do so. Finances were exhausted getting the best representation for my son possible. The case ended up in a hung jury. Then the process started all over... The outcome.. He is free today.

The Book.....

Soon after this God told me to star writing, I don’t have a writing background or experience but I was obedient and did. I started the book in November and was done in March and the book was ready to go in April. The words and characters seemed to flow and take on a life of their own. The main character of the book is a young teenage girl by the name of Stormi.

This book touches so much on issues that face teens and women in general. This book does touch a little on mental health and really evokes the reader to think not only about ‘Stormi, but a deeper look at themselves. What I didn’t know is that there are so many women and readers that have told me that they can identify with ‘Stormi’ and her story because in one way or another her story was part of theirs. During the book there is an internal struggle that ‘Stormi’ faces between good and evil. Girls who are in a constant battle trying to figure out who they are.... this book is a vehicle for them. “Stormi” like most of us is constantly in a storm of life’s conflict. I do get asked all the time if the main character is me...it’s not but it is amazing how so many identify with her struggle and the journey to become a young woman.

Ms. Poole has been on several book signings with her close nit family, spreading ‘Stormi’s’ message. They are all dressed in battle fatigues to represent the struggle that ‘Stormi’ is in this riveting novel. Ms. Poole and her crew were also in Ferguson, Missouri this past August and participated in peace activities for the infamous slaying of Michael Brown an 18 year old black mail that was fatally shot by a white police officer. The author, was there originally for a book signing and was moved by the warmth of the community of Ferguson. She was able to share her book and story with great response.

Ms. Poole has been very busy trying to get the word out about the amazing novel. She has shopped this novel for a possible movie deal and was told by one company that the book was to ‘colorful’ for them to use but a remarkable story none the less. The criticism was harsh but Ms. Poole is undaunted by nay Sayers and such and realizes that the message that this story has is powerful and will help and start a healing process for many. The author states “From the 1st chapter of this book it an inspiration for young women everywhere. God is showing me through my words that people are being touched.”

Ms. Poole is currently working on the second book of this 5 book series as well as having the books transcribed to audio. She would like to see this book turned into a play. She will be having a launch party for the anticipated second sequel to this series this December.

I read the book myself from cover to cover and was literally glued to the book. I can identify with ‘Stormi’ on a personal level in so many ways. It made me look into myself and make some positive changes as well as helped me to see that I need to let some things go and embark on the new that is waiting for me. I recommend this book to anyone that needs to know that they are not alone in their struggle but it is the choices that you make during the struggle that lead to a life journey.

This novel is sold on Amazon. com and Barnes and Nobel book sellers.
