We provide an advanced in-depth experiential programme, making reference to the values of ancient Confucius’s Six Arts - Rites, Music, Archery, Riding, Writing and Arithmetic (禮、樂、射、御 書、數). Students are encouraged to explore and investigate science and social studies concepts, and global issues in interdisciplinary and interactive units. Students could conduct scientific inquiries using concepts and knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). As a University Admissions section, Norton House specialises in academic and intellectual development. With an Oxbridge heritage and curriculum conducted by educators from top institutions, Norton House has helped students to receive admissions offers from top universities such as Oxbridge, Ivy League and HKU.
Who are our students? Our students have a wide variety of reasons for choosing an alternative route. Here are a few:
• • • • • • • •
We provide both physical and online learning (in a live classroom) for flexibility in location either by choice or due to mobility issues We support homeschoolers who need just a little support now and then, here and there to complete their exams We can accelerate courses for the gifted or for students retaking exams We can change course length for students who need to start at non-traditional times such as HK returnees or those who leave high school mid-year We can adjust the teacher-time to guided-learning ratio to meet most budgets Our personalised teaching often suits those requiring special educational attention We don’t judge students who have been excluded and believe in second chances Our BTEC suits post-secondary students who want a non-exam, assignment based diploma with real weight.
Our academic results are testament to this approach, with one in three of our students going to the world’s top 100 universities. And for us, academic success is just the beginning. Our school will nurture your child’s talents so that they can succeed in every aspect of their education, from sports to arts, languages or technology. We encourage every student to love learning, to try something new, and, above all, to be ambitious.
