2018 Legal Notice Marketing Report
Dear Legislator: Public and legal notices are legally required announcements that allow you to stay up-to-date with critical government, business and judicial decisions. Many public and legal notices announce important items such as new ordinances, foreclosures, re-zoning hearings and more. The right to public and legal notice is in everyone’s interest. That is why it’s vital that these notices continue to be published in a trusted, independent source: your local newspaper and online at www.utahlegals.com. Newspapers are historical, verifiable documents that help secure the public’s right to know. Publishing public and legal notices in newspapers and all their media products ensures that important decisions are announced by a responsible source to the majority of Utah residents. Eighty-nine percent of Utah residents engage with newspapers in print, online and social media each week. This ensures that public notices are not only delivered by a responsible, verifiable, independent source, but also seen by the vast majority of Utahns. The overall audience of Utah newspapers is greater than it has ever been. The Utah Press Association and it’s members are committed to providing this vital information to as many Utahns as possible. Printed newspapers are the first rough draft of history. They are archivable and verifiable, and cannot be digitally deleted, changing the public record. Utahlegals.com provides fingertip access to public and legal notices to everyone. Other media avenues such as social media outlets, websites, apps, magazines, etc. all help reach the public masses to educate them about the importance of these notices and where and how to find them. No other media or industry reaches more Utahns multiple times every week than the Utah Press Association. We are using that unparalleled reach to keep the public informed about public and legal notices better than they ever have been in the past, at no additional cost to our customers. Please take a few minutes to look through the important information in this package, and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Sincerely, Brian J. Allfrey Executive Director 801-237-2379 ballfrey@utahpress.com
