At the heart of ADF is the Six Week School (6WS), where dancers from around the country and around the world come to train and to create, to see and to be seen. The six-and-ahalf week program results in the enduring, hard-won benefits that only longterm training can yield. Open to dancers ages 18 and up.

The Three Week School for PreProfessional Dancers (3WS) provides intensive dance training with an emphasis on building leadership skills and community-mindedness. It is designed for intermediate and advanced dancers ages 13-17. Students are selected for the program based on an in-person or video audition. (See the ADF website for audition sites.) Dancers must be currently enrolled in at least four dance classes per week and have a minimum of three consecutive years of prior dance training with a strong foundation in modern or ballet. Students should be prepared for the rigors (and rewards!) of taking dance classes three to six hours a day, six days a week.

The Intensive, led by Gerri Houlihan, is designed specifically for dance educators.

DPW SAMPLERS SAMPLER 1: JUNE 25-JULY 2, 2017 SAMPLER 2: JULY 16-23, 2017 In the DPW Sampler, you’ll construct your own dancing experience by taking an unlimited number of classes in the 6WS. In addition, you’ll take part in Sampler-exclusive classes, discussions, and panels. These activities will be led by a designated faculty member and framed by a central focus. Check the website for details about each sampler.
