“Faith Lajuwomi’s project has been transformational, in the sense that it has become a motivational force for other foreseeable projects in the church. It has created a deep sense of ‘all things are possible’ syndrome in the members of the church. Least to say also that the leadership quality of faith has ignited dedication and passion for togetherness in the members.”

WHAT DID YOU FIND MOST REWARDING IN EARNING THE STARS & STRIPES AWARD?

Leadership in AHG has helped me to realize the importance of Christian leadership. Without strong leaders, the world would be a chaotic place; without Christian leaders, the world would be a dark place. During my time in AHG, I refreshed and added knowledge that is important to my faith.

“The benefiting organization [of my project] is the Deeper Life Bible Church of Dallas, Texas…The church mainly serves Nigerians in Dallas, Texas. There are approximately 64,000 Africans living in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington Metropolitan Area, 18,000 of them being Nigerian. There are currently 100 members of the church. If each member brought ten people to the church, the number of people impacted would be around 1,000. I expect this impact to last for about 30 years. I choose to pursue this project because in some churches, the children’s Sunday school rooms are unappealing to children and lack vibrance. I hoped to create a better space for children so that they will enjoy coming to Sunday school.”
