This Symposium of Contemporary American Music is presented as a pa rt of Illinois Wesleyan's Contemporary Art Festival, 1958, and is dedicated to guest composer Aaron Copland for his contribution to our spiritual development as a nation and as free men .

Aaron Copland, eminent composer and author, will visit the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University February 13 and 14. As guest composer of Wesleyan's Seventh Annual Symposium of Contemporary Music, Mr. Copland will attend public concerts Thursday afternoon and evening largely devoted to his works, and will hear and comment upon student compositions performed Friday morning, February 14. As the Founders' Day speaker, Aaron Copland will address faculty, students and friends of Illinois Wesleyan University at ten o'clock Thursday morning . Interested fr iends of the Un iversity and the Symposium are cord i ally invited to attend any or all of these events.
