Bratsch-Prince receives scholarship from Nebraska-Iowa District Kiwanis Naomi BratschPrince was honored with one of four Nebraska-Iowa District Kiwanis Key Club scholarships. Bratsch-Prince is a member of the Ames High School Key Club, a Kiwanis youth leadership program that provides high school students with opportunities to serve their communities. Students also learn leadership and decision-making skills and self and social awareness. The honor comes with a $500 scholarship, which will be used for BratschPrince’s continuing education at the University of Iowa. Honorees were selected based on their years of service in Key Club living up to the Key Club service leadership model: discovering the heart to serve, answering the call to lead, and exercising the courage to engage. Naomi is the daughter of Ray and Dawn Bratsch-Prince. While in high school, Naomi Bratsch-Prince served as editor/historian and president of the Ames High School Key Club, where she provided expert leadership and encouraged her club to sponsor a wealth of service activities. She helped her club raise more than $1,400 during Trickor- Treat for UNICEF and she was instrumental also in leading another noteworthy project, the monthly birthday parties held for homeless youth where the kids are celebrated. In addition to her Key Club responsibilities, Bratsch-Prince has been a member of the National Honor Society, student council, Student Ambassadors, Students Helping to Eliminate Poverty and Hunger, choir, Madrigal, band, pep band, dance (jazz, tap, and ballet), and many more activities. She also earned an Academic Letter for maintaining a 3.5 GPA or better. “As a representative of the Ames High School Key Club, the NE-IA District of Key Club International, and the city of Ames, Naomi honors all three by her exemplary community volunteer service,” said Randy Griffith.
