Based on observation the site is more focus as a passage through different facilities. The area from different times can be seen as a spot for eating, studying, reading as well as club activities. The intensity of the number of people are more focused on the shaded parts of the lawn. Concentrated spots can also be seen in front of the MSD and the Union House as these places has the provides sitting areas and cafes. Due to the popularity on the shaded parts of the lawn, a response for this situation would be on increasing tree shade on the open space of the lawn so there a lot more space for the usage of people rather than focussing on particular spots.

The reason why there are more people walking on the site compare to cycle is because the easy access of tram at the area.9am is when most student arrive to the university while at 5pm is when most students leave. At 1 pm the movement of people are concentrated at the pathway between the Union House and the MSD through the concrete lawn to get to the multiple food stores available at the Union House during their lunch break.
The response to this would be allow better access to the lawn as it is the more preferred route by people in going between the Union House and the MSD. This can be done by enlarge the pathways in the centre of the lawn as well as demolish the fences at the north side of the lawn so people can get through easier and at a more shaded area.
CLIMATE
SUN/SHADE
TEMPERATURE Open routes like the road in front of the Union House and the passage through the centre of the concrete lawn tend to be hotter than other areas. The reason for this is because the area has more exposure to the Sun due to lack of vegetation and large amount of open space.

The response in solving this issue can be on increasing the number of vegetation around the open routes to cool the temperature of the area with the use of tree shade.

CONCLUSION From the data received from all the different aspects of the site, a solid solution can be made to improve the Concrete Lawn. Popularity can be seen being more focused on areas that allow efficient pathways and shaded spots. So, increasing the number of vegetations around the popular routes and open areas would be a great counter to this problem. The trees should be planted strategically according to the position of the Sun at different times. The idea of increasing the number of vegetations will also bring back the presence of history on the Concrete Lawn which used to be a man-made ornamental lake.
