Focus on Somalia
After more than two decades without a functioning fire fighting service, the Mogadishu Fire Department is once again planning to resume its services in Somalia’s capital. With the aid of three new fire trucks donated by Alqra Aid and Angloco Limited, a force entirely composed of volunteer fire fighters will take over the responsability of fighting fire’s in the capital. During a three week training course, held by AMISOM, the fire department’s new recruits will learn all of the skills needed to ensure that the capital is able to stay safe from any more threats of fire.
