riving can be a dangerous activity. Whether we realize it or not, it is more dangerous getting behind the wheel or riding on a motorcycle compared to flying on an airplane, hopping on a train across the state, or taking a boat ride down the river. Therefore, it is important to prioritize safety, to not drink alcohol and for those who often do it: don’t text and drive. Despite the overwhelming amount of information about careless or unsafe driving, accident can still happen. When someone’s action leads to another’s death, whether it is accidental, intentional, or a car manufacturer defect, the deceased’s loved ones may be entitled to compensation for the wrongful death. Wrongful death in a car accident can happen due to a variety of reasons, including negligence or recklessness by another motorist, criminal activity, or even vehicle manufacturing defects. Thus, what can we do to prevent it? The first Arbor Vitae on this tenure is finally released with the Road Accident as the main topic. Find all the information about this neglected disease in Current Medical Affairs. Psstt.. It will be useful references for a certain competition with the similar topic too! We would like to thank every contributor of this edition. I am proud to say the 24th is a blast edition to start a tenure. You guys are all awesome and full of ideas! Keep inspire and share your thoughts through this magazine! I hope you guys are excited as I am. Enjoy reading!

pecial Region of Yogyakarta is one of the provinces in Java Island, specifically lies on the southern area with Yogyakarta as the capital city. This province is ruled by Yogyakarta Sultanate with sultan have position in government as the governor and helped by prince paku alam as the vice governor. Although this is the second-smallest province in Indonesia, it is famous for its friendly citizens and cultural charm who can still be found in every corner

From Abdi dalem, we will get to know more about Kraton. Not really far from Kraton, you can go to Beringharjo Market in Malioboro by shuttle bus. In here, you can buy a lot of souvenirs with a great deal such as batik and traditional food or you can just

Technology and Our Lives by I Gusti Ayu Nadine Hirania
Nowadays, as technology advances and smartphones are able to do more than just texting or calling, we are depending more and more on our gadgets. Perhaps we rely on them in mornings as an alarm, to do our work and assignments, or maybe as a source of entertainment. While it is certainly a good thing that our gadgets are constantly improving and becoming more multifunctional, our dependency on our smartphones are alarming. We find ourselves holding our phones and using them nearly all the time — while we’re walking, while we’re with friends, while we’re showering, and the most dangerous of them all, while we’re driving. It is not uncommon for people to use their phones during driving, whether to text someone else or to answer calls. Statistics show that 93% of drivers in Australia own a phone, and 59% drivers in Australia use their phones while driving – 31% to read and 14% to send messages. How about you? Do you drive while using your phone? Perhaps you do, and perhaps you might think to yourself, “Oh please, I am careful enough to still pay attention to the road while using my phone. There’s no need to make a huge fuss about this. Besides, not all people who play with their phone during driving will end up in a car accident.” Unfortunately, the numbers tell a different tale. According to the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety from Queensland, driver’s distraction due to mobile phones is one of the main causes of road crashes as it leads your attention away from the road. Your hand moves away from the steering wheel to pick up your phone, and your eyes are diverted away from the road to seek your phone, view the buttons, or read a message. Your concentration is also divided between the road and your gadget – which is definitely a hard thing to do even for experienced drivers. If the car in front of you suddenly stops while you are looking down at your phone, you might not notice it fast enough to slam at your breaks. When this happens, a car crash is bound to ensue. So, what to do? Instead of answering those calls or messages while you are on the road, you can pull over to a safe spot and answer them, or perhaps direct them to voicemail and answer them when you have reached your destination. The point is, we can all agree that using your phone during driving is a safety risk and should not be done. Therefore, whenever you get a call from your boss during driving or receive a text from your crush — remember that there is no message or call important enough that it’s worth risking your life. That call or message can wait until it is safe for you to answer them. Pay attention to the road, and drive safely!

As they say, time flies. And it’s been 11 years since AMSA-UKI was established, to work sincerely for the community. In AMSA-UKI we learn, we create, and we are family. Through ups and downs, we always stick around and help each other. In order to celebrate the 11th anniversary of AMSA-UKI, we hold two events namely Pre-Event and Event (D-Day). Pre-Event also called “Social Action” is an event we organized with intention to share happiness and give our contribution for people with disability. We chose SLB BCD Nusantara Ber-asrama, Depok as the venue for pre-event. The Social Action was held on September 21st. The event took place with joy and happiness. They received us with great enthusiasm. In there we teach them how to wash
Fondasi Kekompakan Menjadikan Kekeluargaan d
S a m p a i l a h pada acara Build The Sense atau yang disingkat BTS.
Pernah kalian mendengar arti perkenalan menghasilkan kenyamanan? Terimakasih Build The Sense AMSA-UKI 2018/2019.

AMSA - Universitas Palangka Raya by Angel Dineta Margaretta
“Greetings, people of tomorrow…” Every time that sentence pops up in my notification bar, I would hurriedly click it with an extravagant curiosity of what event that AMSA is currently making. Not only events from AMSA Indonesia or invitations from other university, but also my own, University of Palangka Raya (UPR). In UPR, we hold quite a lot of events with a purpose to influence people around us for living healthily and also to give AMSA UPR members new experiences and knowledge in medicine plus bonding the members itself. How does it work?
In developing one area, it is not only adults who need to know health issues. We held Event of the Year (EOTY) in last April 2019 for building an awareness on children -students from SDN 2 Mentengabout balanced diet that may educate them on earning proper nutrition from what they eat and prevent them from malnutrition. They were so enthusiastic. As important as sharing information, checking daily basis health condition is also needed. At Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday mornings, we go to Bundaran Besar -Location of CFD- and check people’s pulsation rate also their glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid level in their blood. As usual, after checking patients’ condition, we educate them about basic things that they need to know and do. Exactly the same thing as the activity done, we named the event as Pulsation.
Academic is always essential but it is also crucial to grow another skill. Speaking is one of the important soft skills that people need to have. Medical Debate (McD) will be the best choice to acquire it. We hold this event for high school students in Palangka Raya and give them a platform to share their arguments about health or medical issues. It will also develop their critical thinking and able to stand for what they believe. It is participated with 9 groups of debaters with 3 students in each group. Before the debate, we hold a seminar. In May 2019, we raised “Mental Health” as the topic given which was taking place at Awal Bros Betang Pambelum Hospital and successfully held.
Talking about academic and skills, we also hold an event called Local Academic Training (LAT) which is presented for UPR’s medical students. In that event, we give some training with specific topics. Last LAT we held was about basic surgical skills with total participants reaching 50 students. In addition, we also hold another event which the participants are always showing a big great enthusiasm. It is a kind of mini seminar about medical which the speakers are doctors and hold on Saturdays. We call it AMSA Pintar because it is truly making us pintar or smart. As the usual seminar, it is filled with information and materials in medical sharing also giving the participants a place to earn a valid answer of their question from the expert. It is so much fun to join this event because we can increase our knowledge in a simple way and relaxed condition which brings us to
enjoyable productive Saturday mornings. It is open for all UPR’s medical students. Organization is not always about sharing and giving. We also need to raise our own relation with each other. That is the reason to hold a Welcoming Party which is held in every year. It may sound and seem simple, but this event bonds us, makes us closer and become more and more a family which is one of the important things in an organization, the feeling of having each other. Those events are held regularly with different scale of time for each event. Updates of all the events are shared on Instagram @amsaupr with hopes that it may inspire others in working together as an organization.
