AMSEP (Asian Medical Student Exchange Program) is one of AMSA’s most leading program. It allows medical students to connect with other medical students from various regions of Asia, and even Europe and Africa. AMSA-Indonesia is also one of the most active chapter in holding AMSEP. In fact, the first ever AMSEP was held between Indonesia and Japan in November 2006 and January 2007. As the only exchange program approved by AMSA, AMSEP provides an opportunity for all AMSA members, both preclinical and clinical, to experience a glimpse of medicine in other chapters. The program vary according to the university of the host country that organizes the schedule. All participating students will experience all AMSA philosophies (Knowledge, Action, and Friendship) in AMSEP. They will experience healthcare systems in other countries, medical educations, as well as the distinctive cultures. All in all, the memories made through AMSEP will be unforgettable. Currently, chapters that are involved in AMSEP are Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Bangladesh, India, Egypt, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Mongolia, and Nepal.

Liaison Officer for GO and Liasion Officer for NGO aims to collaborate with GO and NGOs, which are considerably approachable for AMSA-Indonesia’s university members to help improve healthcare status in Indonesia. Thus, LO for GO and LO for NGO open the golden opportunity for every AMSA-Indonesia’s members, alongside their own local NGOs, to give their best contributions to health issues through in public health improvement. Gratefully, starting from 2019, AMSA-Indonesia has become the official partner of Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia. AMSA-Indonesia has agreed to fully support the main focus of Kemenkes, which is GERMAS (Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat), through our work program such as health education and community empowerment. In 2012, 2013, and 2015, AMSA-Indonesia had the opportunity together with Yayasan Pita Kuning Anak Indonesia (YPKAI), Evio Production, and Community for Children with Cancer (C3) to successfully held a groundbreaking movement called Shave for Hope. This event was recorded as the largest hair shaving for charity event for child cancer sufferers in Indonesia, and have significantly increased people’s awareness about childhood cancer. This year, AMSA-Indonesia longs to, again, come up with novel and innovative campaign ideas and collaborations to improve health status in Indonesia.
