FOREWORD Geraldus Sigap Gung Binathara Regional Chairperson AMSA-Indonesia 2021/2022

Greetings, People of Tomorrow! Since 1996, AMSA-Indonesia has established to be one of the largest medical students’ organization in Indonesia. Comprises of more than 5.000 active members spread across Indonesia with 36 universities and 2 universities observer, we are very proud to call AMSA as our home. The three core philosophies of AMSA: Knowledge, Action, and Friendship, AMSA-Indonesia creates a place with the land of opportunities for its members to develop holistically in skills and personality as a future doctor in Indonesia. With many doors that are opened, AMSA-Indonesia is always trying to amplify the courage of its members in obtaining the best development of themselves by being the member of AMSA-Indonesia. As it reaches its silver age, AMSA-Indonesia has continually developed and grow to become a place where members could reach their utmost potential by joining in several opportunities that AMSA has provided. With the 25 years of AMSA, many parties are involved with the growth of the organization, from the governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, partnerships, and our alumni and seniors. Since 2018, AMSA-Indonesia has signed the

Momerandum of Understanding with Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia, initiating AMSA-Indonesia as the official partner in actualizing the better health of our country. Our partners include Kementerian Pemuda dan Olahraga, Ikatan Dokter Indonesia, Komite Penanganan COVID-19 dan Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional, Yayasan Pita Kuning Anak Indonesia, and Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN) Youth. With all the enthusiasm from the member and potentials that can be ignited, we always look forward for further collaboration and cooperation with other organizations that have the same principles and values. As Henry Ford once said, ‘If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.’ Through the Official Booklet of AMSA-Indonesia 2021/2022, we are proud to formally introduce our organization and hopefully can give a glimpse of our organizations, with its activities and values as an organization. Should there be any inquiries, do feel free to contact us through the contact details available on this Official Booklet of AMSA-Indonesia 2021/2022.

“Amplifying Courage, Advancing Capabilities” Thank you. Viva AMSA!

AMSA International

BACKGROUND The Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) International is a peak representative organisation for medical students from across Asia, the Asia-Pacific and beyond. We gather future healers from 17 Full Members, 2 Associate Members and 8 Observer Members, to be academically-competent, initiative-driven, and socially ethical. AMSA International was officially founded at the sixth Asian Medical Students’ Conference (AMSC), which was held at Manila, the Philippines in 1985. Enthusiastic AMSA members from nine different nations – Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand, gathered at the conference and founded the prestigious international organisation. The member nations increased gradually as the founding members of AMSA inspired neighbouring countries with its admirable vision. Today, AMSA International has grown into a dynamic student-led, not-for-profit, non-political organisation. With members and friends spanning the globe, AMSA International has branched and introduced many exciting subsidiaries and activities to be undertaken regionally and nationally within the member nations. With our amazing partners and sponsors, we are able to have inter-organisational collaborations of academic, sociocultural and public health coverage, not to forget the exchange projects that have managed to foster trans-continental long-lasting friendships.
