General Information CONVENTION BEST PRACTICES

REGISTRATION DESK

ASTA Global Convention is the annual trade event of a large coalition of travel enterprises. As such, this is an event that requires attendees to conduct themselves professionally. This includes compliance with the following policies: Conducting business on the floor of the trade show is not permitted without the purchase of a booth space. Exceptions are made for working journalists who are registered with the ASTA Communications office.

Appropriate attire is required for events; business casual for ASTA Global Convention. Advertising outside of a paid booth space is prohibited, including but not limited to handing out promotional items or advertising pieces and/or wearing clothing or other adornments that are intended to convey advertising messages; it is acceptable to wear clothing that displays a logo and a brand name.

BADGES Badges are required to attend the trade show, general sessions, education sessions, sightseeing tours and networking events from Saturday, August 26th through Tuesday, August 29th. Admittance to functions is prohibited without an official badge.

During registration hours, attendees may pick up their badges and ASTA staff will be able to answer any questions about ASTA Global Convention. Receive a stamp when you show the downloaded ASTA App on your phone to the ASTA staff located at the China Chapter Booth (#201) Turn in your completed Monday Passport to the China Chapter Booth (#201) before the end of the trade show on Monday, August 28. Boasting 17 major museums and home to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Natural History Museum (theNAT), Balboa Park is ranked as one of the best parks in the world. The San Diego Zoo is 100 acres in size and is home to more than 3,700 rare and endangered animals representing approximately 660 species and subspecies and a prominent botanical collection with more than 700,000 plants. Visitors of theNAT will be impressed by the unique, interactive exhibitions that span across five floors. During this sightseeing tour, we’ll also explore Liberty Station and the historic Old Town San Diego. Liberty Station provides a portal to the past, an experience for the present, and a promise for the future. With art galleries, restaurants, boutique shopping and an exciting public market, this is quickly becoming San Diego’s new Town Square! Old Town is the historic heart of San Diego. Created in 1769, Old Town San Diego was California’s first settlement with only a mission and a fort.
