Why focus on common data environments? We want to be a construction and infrastructure sector that anticipates social demand and capitalises on opportunities. We have an enormous construction task to combine with an enormous transition task: fitting in 1 million homes, replacing and renovating our infrastructure, reducing CO2 by 65%, NoX at zero and circular chains. Our changing society demands solutions:

Performance/market size, profitability

Incremental improvements:

Disruptive Innovations:

A construction and infrastructure sector that leads the way and seizes opportunities

What is needed for this? We believe that in the Netherlands we cannot solve these challenges with local, sub-optimal compromises. We believe that with a holistic approach, supported by the right information, we can realise all goals better and faster than expected. A common data environment is a prerequisite for this. Our changing society demands solutions:

Performance/market size, profitability

Incremental improvements:

Co2 -65% Nitrogen 0

Our challenge: We see that existing common data environments remain non-scalable loners. Many known bottlenecks stand in the way, preventing organisations from individually making or enforcing this leap of scale. Our changing society demands solutions:

Our goal: What measures can be taken at the national/sectoral level to overcome the bottlenecks preventing the necessary scale-up to nationwide or EU-wide common data environments? Our changing society demands solutions:

Our solution: The digital construction trailer absorbs existing data environments and applies them to a concrete project. After the project, it transfers the data again, but in accordance with our 9 criteria, and moves on to the next project. The construction unit has a standardised set-up, a learning cycle and is open for market players to develop and apply. Onze veranderende maatschappij vraagt oplossingen:

Our nine criteria for solutions to ensure the scale we need 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

What you invent/apply helps others in his/her transition Scalable and continuous Clear business case Just enough in line with existing practice Well-being is improved, social added value Tactical: link up with current themes such as CO2, house construction, nitrogen, availability of materials 7. Agility instead of project control

8. Not only operational, but also financial 9. Internationally applicable 14

Starting points for our next steps • Use and build on what is there • Get others on board, create demand • Organise and nurture a community around it of people who get it, with the right knowledge and expertise • Point of attention: wellbeing is the most difficult thing to describe in a GDO

Our starting point: 40 cities describing their challenge, projects and objects at area level, in the same format 15

Next application: Spoorzone Apeldoorn
