We don’t just have a student body, we have a family. Ever since I first arrived as a freshmen not knowing anybody, being shy and doubtful. I was received with open arms by not only other students but the faculty and staff as well. TAMUT is a unique university where everyone cares about your life in and outside of school they worry, they support you, and are always there to help you strive for excellence. When people ask me are you ready to go home for summer? My answer is always the same, year around I am always home I am always with my family.

However, the overwhelming and vulnerable feelings accompanied with a new environment quickly faded as friendly students and unique professors welcomed me. The personal touch and ease of approaching others gave me a sense of safety that still comforts me in my second semester. I like being invited into a space, and TAMUT quickly ensured me that I was.
