PATTERN USAGE By giving the brand a pattern it allows for a consistent design element to flow throughout the brand. A pattern will help with making the brand recognisable and memorable to an audience.

MARBLING

The marbling allows for a subtle pattern which incorporates print and elements which textiles students work with, therefore it incorporates their work without choosing an individuals work specifically and using that as a representation of the brand. Instead it is unbiased and versatile.

TRIANGLE GEOMETRIC PATTERN The geometric triangular pattern is built up of different coloured and thicknesses of sections to create a pattern to represent Opus. The pattern is built up of the light blue, light grey, dark grey and marbled sections in order to follow the consistency and style of the brand. The pattern is to be used subtly to create a contemporary vision for the brand. The geometric pattern can be used to fill up empty space or to exenterate the brand identity. The pattern is the visual representation of Opus. The pattern is to highlight the atmosphere of contemporary design, sophistication and professional standard.

WHY CONTEMPORARY? The brand Opus has been created to represent contemporary design. The brand is the representation of Loughborough Textiles: Innovation & Design Graduates and therefore needs to represent them. They are contemporary designers, designing for now and the future of textiles. The brand needs to follow their style of work, and to visually represent the course, the graduates and the university.
