My collection was a photo feature in CMLife of Central Michigan University online. For the Eastsider newspaper of Eastpointe and Roseville I was interviewd for a story for my collection for CMU.

In the beginning of my internship I created a presentation of trend boards for the Fall/ Winter season of 2018. The boards include: the theme, color, silhoette, print, childrenswear, menswear, and accesories. The boards below are examples.

As part of the design assistant position i got a whiff of the technical design process. The patternmaking process was made documented with precise instructions so the seamstresses could follow them on point. To help along with the seamstress I joined the job of fitting and measuring pattern pieces on fabric to reduce fabric waste. A few days I would assist with the cool quality control team. The QC team would check for glitches on the batik fabric and clip random strings of the finish product

The people in Ghana compared in America take their time and each moment. They smile incredibly more. Their lifestyle is more still traditional in terms of religion is the center of their life. I joined the amazing restaurant owner, Ellie to her church with her son. The church experience reminded me of my baptist church at home but in a different language. The food in Ghana was pretty consistent. The meals conists of: rice, chicken, fish, avacados, fufu, spicy sauce, potatoes, plaintains, beans and cabbage, The meals are all carbohydrate base however it burns off while walking in 85 degree weather. The American thing i craved most was sugar because Ghana has low sugar in their diets unlike America. For history I visited the Cape Coast Slave castle. That experience was a view that connected deep within the bleak beginnings of my African American culture. The spontaneous things I did in Ghana was to go surfing. Its awesome to think that my first time going surfing was in Africa. Usually thesurfing culture is portrayed on the Pacific coast.
