Personal Statement Ever since I can remember I have been highly interested in all things fashion. My creative imagination and artistic flare has enabled me to build a unique portfolio that explores fashion from my perspective. Within my work I try to incorporate different areas of culture whether that is art or music, as I find the relationship between all cultural arts fascinating. I have a keen eye for forecasting future trends and thoroughly enjoy thinking up my own concepts for styling photo shoots and even designing my own magazine. I am an extremely ambitious and very hard working person who always looks to improve my knowledge and express my individuality. Employment/Work Experience Sept – Nov 2014 – Worked as a stylist for the designer bag company Urban Travel. I was given a brief and from that created mood boards, sourced clothing and accessories and helped with general errands on the photoshoot. Also helped them to organize a popup shop within Southampton by attracting consumers via various social media platforms and improving the pop up online shop website. 2014 – This summer I worked as an accessories production and merchandising intern for the London bag designer Sophie Hulme. My duties were to carry out in depth research on competitors, create shape and price pyramids for the new SS14 collection and to generally assist the assistant merchandiser and production team. It has helped improve my computer skills, organization and initiative.


2014- I worked as the PR team for Connery’s Barbershop in Southampton, which is a newly established traditional vintage barbershop. Organized pop up shop event for them within the university, designed an in store and online magazine for them to raise awareness of their brand amongst the student market. 2013- Was involved in the West Quay style hunter competition that ran during the student lock in with two others. Our job was to search West Quay and take photographs of the most stylish people and the best won a prize. This showed confidence and teamwork. 2011- present: Front of house at The Burlington Hotel, Norfolk. I currently work during the holidays at home in Norfolk when I am not at University. Generally take care of the whole front of house in the hotel from working behind the bar to working on reception dealing with bookings, enquiries and accounts. 2009: Week work experience at Cream Beauty Salon, Norfolk. Overlooked the various treatments, dealt with bookings over the phone and did stock taking. Education GCSE’s acquired at Sheringham High School and Sixth Form Centre. 10 GCSE’S graded A-C with a B in English, C in Maths, C in Science, A in Art and B in French. A Levels acquired at Sheringham High School and Sixth Form Centre. A - Photography B – Art and Design D – History I am currently at Southampton Solent University studying a degree in Fashion Promotion and Communication. So far on my course I have covered many aspects of the industry allowing me to expand my knowledge and find my passion for the subject. Buying and Merchandising – worked in a group with a live brand in Southampton taking on the role of buyers for the company and had to pick a new portfolio of products suitable for the company and present our ideas.


Media – Had to create our own individual magazine and write creative pieces suitable for it including a blog and a featured interview with a chosen fashion professional. I enjoyed this hugely because I am very interested in writing about fashion. Trend forecasting – Had to take on the role of a trend forecaster and predict a new trend that could emerge in summer 2015. Created a whole sketchbook and digital trend package to present. Public Relations – Worked on a PR project with a live client in Southampton taking on the role of the companies PR team to boost brand awareness around the city. Created an online magazine for the store and organized a pop up shop event within Southampton University.

Skills/Interests IT skills – Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator. Presentations – have conducted many presentations throughout my career at University. Creative skills – Strong skills in drawing, art and illustration Photography – Strong skills in digital photography and within a studio atmosphere Writing – Strong writing ability creatively and academically Styling – I have a keen eye for style and enjoy creating diverse trends Outside of University I enjoy photography, music, travelling, styling my own trends and have always loved to dance.
