Volume 1, Issue 8 January 2013 Bonjour Division 7B Congratula#ons! You all have survived the apocalypse! With this survival, let’s celebrate this year—2013 with strong powerful craving for more service! Second semester just started for most of you, so that mean it gives you another chance for a fresh start! You know what I mean by that, if you have been slacking off the 1st semester then this is your chance to redeemed yourself. Seniors, I know its only a few more months un#l we will graduate but it doesn’t mean that you can slack off either! This is your chance to make your senior year the best it can be! District Conven on is coming soon and the deadline for registra#on is creeping up on us so don’t wait #l the last minute to turn in your form because space are LIMITED. We are also holding Lieutenant Governor elec on soon so please look at the “President’s Page” to find out more about it! If you need help with anything, please don’t be afraid and contact me :)

67Th District Convention What is DCON? DCON stands for District Convention. DCON is a time where our district (The Carolinas) joins together to celebrate services, raise awareness/money for district project, elect our new executive board, train officers but most importantly– TO HAVE A BLAST! The 67th annual District Convention weekend include opening and closing sessions, workshops, caucusing for house of delegates, fun dances, Sunday Banquet and many more. It is a weekend fun event that you will not regret attending!! When: March 13-17 2013 Where: Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham Who: All key clubbers Cost: $175 (Early Bird) ; $185 (Regular Deadline) *FRESHMAN: $150 (PLEASE TAKE AN ADVANTAGE) ** One FREE Faculty Advisor registra on if at least 4 non-freshman students are registered. In 1981, the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina at Lake Waccamaw became the Carolinas District Project. The Boys and Girls Homes is a residential group care home for abused, neglected and dependent children between the ages of nine and eighteen. The Carolinas District has helped the Girls and Boys Homes by donating clothes, toys, food, school supplies, hygiene products, time, and money. Our District helped provide funds for the Leamon E. Rogers Memorial Chapel built in 2001. We have also started Keys to the Vans, which helps to provide vehicles for the Girls and Boys Homes, and Christmas for Children, which raises money to give the children a memorable Christmas. You can help support the Boys and Girls Home by participating in Shake-Rattle-and-Roll. Fill up a bottle with change during the next two months and bring it to District Convention. The bottles will be collected on Friday night after the opening session. Please invite your club to collect change and bring a bottle to District Convention! At District Convention, we will also be selling Together-We-Can Ribbons for $1. Please bring some cash to District Convention so you can purchase one!
