Geography Colombia is one of the most diverse countries in the world. As it is a tropical land, next to the Equator Line, the variety of climates depends on the height of the zone, there are no seasons.


The Flora of Colombia is characterized by 130,000 species of plants that have been described within Colombian territory.

Fauna & Flora Colombia has the largest number of endemic species (species that are not found naturally anywhere else) worldwide. About 10% of the species in the world live in Colombia. Peace Talks Since 1948, Colombia has been stroke by war: the FARC guerrila has been the strongest in the last decades. Since september 4th, the goverment is holding talks with the heads of the guerrilla to reach an agreement; and soon, after the people’s choice it will or wont be signed the peace agreement for Colombia and FARC.

Religion About 20 years ago it was determined by the constitution that people were free to choose their religion. The goberment doesn’t hold any official statistics, but a poll

made by El Tiempo (daily paper) revealed that 80% of the population are catholic. As for tradition, and the way the cities were built during the spanish conquest, most of towns and locations in the cities are built around a square with the political building and a cathedral. Weather in Bogotá ¡You better take an umbrella with you! Because in Bogotá you never know when It’s going to rain. if it’s sunny in the morning it will probably rain in the afternoon

Barranquilla is a city and municipality located in northern Colombia. It is the only major city in South America that was populated before its formal foundation. It’s located near the Caribbean Sea. Barranquilla is the largest city and port in the northern Caribbean Coast region of Colombia. It’s most popular celebration: El Carnaval de Barranquilla (January)

Medellín, is the second-largest city in Colombia and the capital of the department of Antioquia. With its surrounding area that includes nine other cities, the metropolitan area of Medellín is the second-largest urban agglomeration in Colombia in terms of population and economy, with more than 3.7 million people. It’s most polular celebration: La Feria de las Flores (August)
