How to use

philos ?

Have you written your name on page 1? That’s right! Own it! Now let’s dive in to the fun part.

Philos You are currently holding the Philos Yellow volume, which is Quarter Three of the CMYK series of 2019. Why quarterly? Scientists say it takes 66 days to form a habit. Thus, a three month focus is ideal to really make a difference - to plan and achieve goals - with enough time for effectiveness yet without the overwhelming outlook of a whole year.

Structure Your Philos includes: (a) Quarterly Focus, (b) daily pages from January through March 2019, with a set of (c) Priorities and Trackers for each month, and (d) Reflections at the end of the quarter.

Quarterly Focus The best idea is to start by filling in your Quarterly Focus (pages 8-9). Give yourself some time to really indulge in these. Make yourself a cuppa and put on a chill playlist, or just retreat to your quiet place. The extra Focus Questions will help you clarify what is imporant to you as well as what is realistic in the coming 3 months. Don’t overwhelm yourself with unrealistic goals. Among the jumble of thoughts (and feelings) you have, first clarify what is of highest value to you. These may be related to the following areas: mental health, physical health, intellectual growth, relationships, parental life, jobs, hobbies, spirituality, and finances. Choose the areas that concern you and build your Quarterly Focus. Philos gives you the freedom in page 8-9 to really map this out to your liking. Focus on what and how to tackle in this quarter.

4

Priorities & Tracker The Priorities and Tracker pages at the beginning of each month are where you can transform your Focus points into actionable steps. Notice that Priorities is split in three segments for you to distinguish between those of higher, medium and lower importance. It is crucial to think, not only of things you want to start or do more of, but of things you want to seize. Here’s an idea, why not introduce rewards for your hard work, adding an extra motivational boost to your goals?

Main Body The main body of Philos includes the 3 month sections. Each has a double spread monthly calender, followed by daily pages for you to fill in your ideas and plans. Philos gives you ample space to freely personalise, whether you want to doodle, collage or make lists alike. Moreover, the popular dot grid layout offers the most clean yet effective background. A great idea is to include and emphasize the highlight of your day, or jot down a corner of daily gratitude for example.

Reflections After the end of the quarter there is a Reflections section which is you treasure for the future. You may use the extra Reflection Questions sheet for guidance.Use the past as a lesson to what works best for you and make a list of things you wish to incorporate Less and More in your life. Stay aware of your feelings and whenever you notice a particular one holding you back, note down the Fear and a corresponding Mantra that will help you overcome it. On the last page of your Philos, you are invited to jot down your quarterly Highlights as these months unravel! The perfect summary to look back to. Most importantly, Philos is designed to be your daily companion. The name Philos means exactly that. So make sure you have a special place for it in your bag (we wouldn’t judge if you added a gps tracker to it). Each day is a gift. A new opportunity. A blank page. Own it!
